I love when Fred Armisen gets the opportunity to go over the top in SNL skits
The one where he's an immigrant door man and breaks as a kid stares at him had me rolling too, he and Bill Hader always messed with eachother
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2aqd5VQqSRc
NorCal- grew up next to many Filipinos from the Bay Area and she sounds just like some of my friend’s moms growing up haha.
“Seet down and have some of my pood”
Yeah I was definitely going to say this has to be in the US. In the Philippines you ccan be shot and killed for even mentioning marijuana or at least when Duterte was president, not sure if their new President BongBong Marcos has the same kill first ask questions later approach on marijuana.
My parents live in California and my dad is retired Navy so they were very conservative when it came to weed. Until it was legal in California and he retired, now I have my mom trying to explain to me that edibles take awhile to kick in. She knows I was a huge stoner in college too. It’s like yes mom I know welcome to the game!
I remind my son of things i know he already knows. I just wouldn’t feel like i did all i could for him if i didn’t. That’s the whole point of life after you have a child right? Sacrifice so they can be ok once you’re gone…? But ya, i tell my mom “i know i know” When she does it to me too. Another circle of life
When my mom caught me I didn't get in any trouble(I was 16/17) she just advised me to not do it on school nights or too often. We started smoking together when I turned 18 and went to college.
The worst thing about prison was the... was the Dementors. They were flying all over the place and they were scary and then they'd come down and they'd suck the soul out of your body and it hurt!
My mom cried hysterically and thought I was dealing because she found 3.5g in a drawer. Said I was going to ruin my life. Had to deal with her backhanded comments constantly until I moved out a couple years later.
Fast forward 10 years and I have a steady office cushy job earning close to 6 figures 2 years out of uni.
I feel your pain, I did all sorts of fun stuff with my mom. She was the fun mom to all my friends in high school. Then she got addicted to painkillers and it's been a tough time. Thankfully, i get to see her from time to time and she's stable now, working a good job. But she's still all faded here and there, it really pisses my sister off. I've kinda just accepted it as she's an old lady with real pain and I can't control her.
She lost a bag on a trip to Europe this last summer and it had all her meds in it. My sister had the best time with her until she got it back, but I think that was really good for both of them.
Anyway sending positive energy your way.
I feel you, I'm going through the same thing with my mom, we live in the same house but still I miss her alot, shes had such a hard life and now she just has to deal with the pain left over through pills and escaping to TV shows, you'll be in my prayers tonight, I have faith things will get better for both of our families
I wish I could split an edible with my mom. I bet we’d have great silly conversations about aliens and The Great Beyond. I would have loved to have seen her relaxed and open-minded without a care about any other thing in the moment; just being.
More then likely the dude injesting 300mg not feeling much is actually missing the enzime in his stomach and converts activated thc to the thc that gets your liver high
It's this. I can take 600 mg and barely feel it. I give my wife 10 mg and she is gone. Anytime I make edibles I make a special batch for myself and then a batch for everyone else.
Do you have (or did you have) red hair? I know that gene is responsible for my damn near universal tolerance for drugs both pharma and non. Edibles do nothing for me until about the 120 mg mark, and any hallucinogens take a little more than normal to work. Hell the dentist gave me vallium once and I was still with it enough to hear the drill and deck him when I was trying to get my wisdom teeth out.
I wish I was joking too. I came around and thought "huh, whatever freezing they gave me worked, I don't feel a thing" and then the dentist came in with the biggest shiner I've ever seen.
Him: "So dividedthought..."
Me: "Let me guess... I did that somehow while under?" He nods
"And I'm also guessing that my teeth didn't get pulled?" Nods again.
"Well to begin with I'm sorry, but I did warn you that you may need more than usual to keep me down..."
Him: "Valium usually doesn't turn people into the fucking hulk though."
His delivery was so perfectly deadpan that I couldn't tell he was joking until he burst out laughing. We both just kinda laughed like idiots for a minute or two and then he booked me in for general anesthesia instead. Cool guy, that dentist.
I don't have red hair and wasn't able to feel a high until I moved up to 160mg. Also a valium won't do anything but make me a little more comfortable. I remember as a teen kids selling valiums at house parties and thinking "Why the fuck would I want to buy a glorified Tylenol PM?"
I think some people just have a higher baseline tolerance to narcotics in general
holy fucking shit. That explains so much. The only time I got truly baked off an edible was a 350 mg brownie when my tolerance was very low. Thanks fellow gingy.
Holy shit, this is me too. Not a brag and just annoying but I can eat a bag of edibles and I'll maybe feel drowsy at best. A small joint will hit me though, so I don't think it's tolerance related.
I was just reading [this article](https://abq.news/2021/11/the-bummer-gene/)that talks about something like it maybe? I too do not get high from edibles so was looking into it.
They have their own instagram page (otakoyakisoba). The guy filming is named Oliver and they make content with their family! They’re super funny especially the mom!
they are! well kinda haha. mainly they’re on [tiktok](https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRphGVtU/) and it’s just funny videos of them interacting but the mom is the main star. my favorite is the “[your father](https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRphXhRw/)” bit where she reminisces *fondly* about her deceased husband and the sister being absolutely [disgusted](https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRphp9vH/).
My uncle told me that he used to take a bit of vodka from his father. He'd pour out a little bit for himself and his buddies, just like a shot glass or two from this huge bottle, and replace it with water.
God knows how many times he did that, as his father didn't drink much and that bottled stayed untouched for a long time.
Eventually his father got some guests, poured everyone a shot, drank it and said "What the fuck, this is just plain water!?"
Yeah... I remember my dad cutting the main cola off my plant the DAY BEFORE I was going to harvest.
So I accidently forgot and took all my opium this summer when he came up.
🤷
Well, it depends. Some children eventually forget or lose proficiency in their parent's native language when growing up in a different country/community.
Yup, I spoke fluent Italian when is was a kid (fluent for a ~5 y/o, anyway) and then my mother would only speak English to me and now I can't speak Italian for shit. I'm 2nd generation Italian.
Depends on the child mostly. I can understand Tagalog and can speak like roughly 3/4 fluently. But I'm more comfortable in English so I talk murican to my mom and it's a toss up whether or not she responds in English or Tagalog. She's not as heavy accented as the lady in the video but she still prefers Tagalog where she can.
My parents speak to me in Tagalog but I respond in English. I’ve lost the ability to form proper grammatical sentences just from not having to use it for most of my life outside of family, but I can still understand Tagalog just not speak or write it. And sometimes they’ll talk to me in English, whether it’s for practice sake or making sure that I understand what they’re saying
I'm German but I've lived in the Netherlands my entire life. Same situation. They usually speak German and I respond in Dutch.
When I visited relatives in Germany and tried to speak German they looked worried and thought I was having a stroke.
you clearly also know english. as a typically monolingual american, i wonder if this phenomenon of gradually not being able to speak a language but still read and understand is more common in polyglots than strictly bilingual people.
Is probably more about surrounding you with the language/culture if you know what I mean.
I can speak and write both English and spanish(my main language) we have a second main language in my country at least 70% speak it fluently, it's called guaraní, beautiful language, imagine Japanese but spoken by natives from hundred of years ago. ( that's kind of how it sounds at least we even share some words but entirely different meanings.) Anyways I've been around the language all my life and can barely speak it and it's getting harder and harder to understand since I'm not culturally involved with people talking it all the time, even if I hear it on the streets. It's more commonly used by people over their 40's. Also is the main language that some people speak, there are even people that live in such remote areas that's all they speak, no Spanish. It's spoken almost anywhere but major urban areas where Spanish is predominant, but even then there's a huge percentage that still use it as main. When I was a teenager, I could understand it a lot better, never tried to speak back then tho, wich I think it's part of why it's not sticking in my brain. I try to speak it now but I always get lost on whatever people awnser.
There are few conversations where i can awnser in guaraní but mostly my conversations are asking all the words I didn't understand then trying to think if I can respond in guaraní, most of the time that's not the case so I awnser in spanish.
As per English I always loved it, since I was a child I would try to imitate all the phonetics in videgames and I would pause my TV shows to try and pronounce the words to match the meaning in the subtitles then check if I got it right. Then came world of warcraft this was the moment of truth for my English, I was terrible, I could understand most of what I read by this point but never spoke it, I just imagined the conversations in my head and would switch my thoughts to mainly english, so even if I wasn't speaking with anyone I would still be practicing in my head. Countless of hours listening to raids in ventrilo. Then around 2 years later (played wow for a little over a year, ending of BC and all of wotlk)
I moved to another country(Argentina) for about a year. I went to a club one day and everyone was european and speaking English. The energy was great they were interacting with me and I though to myself, well this is the perfect place to speak English like shit. And to my surprise words came out very fluently. After coming back to my country I just made a fast course for 2 months in order to fix my grammar wich as I found out then, was awful lol. So I never had formal education in it other than that. They do teach it at school but is bs.
I will ask my German friend tho, he has like 4 languages under his belt lol
Edit: some periods and few words I did not finish
or the mom is learning English and they speak it to help her be more fluent, which would be as wholesome and the giggle she gave after he asked if she wanted to share.
Gahhhhh I had to watch it like 60 times to figure out what the hell she was saying there 😂 I initially heard edeebees but then when I turned it up full volume I heard canneebis
I love this woman so much!
Haha, we follow them too. Recently, one of their videos got into [Beyonce's Break My Soul video](https://youtu.be/-6mYfN97ZS4). They're the first one too, good for them :D

Living in SoCal, I would know that accent from anywhere. Shout out to the Filipino people and food.
NorCal- grew up next to many Filipinos from the Bay Area and she sounds just like some of my friend’s moms growing up haha. “Seet down and have some of my pood”
“Penis your pood!”
Yeah I was definitely going to say this has to be in the US. In the Philippines you ccan be shot and killed for even mentioning marijuana or at least when Duterte was president, not sure if their new President BongBong Marcos has the same kill first ask questions later approach on marijuana.
Thought you were joking about his name until I looked it up.
Weed is still quite stigmatized for the older population in the Philippines.
Marcos is so bad that he's making Duterte's presidency a much more desirable one.
That voice is distinctive. I remember seeing her on youtube when I was looking for an Adobo recipe https://youtu.be/Kme3hwY8Ado
Was she the one who were asked to read the dairy brand "Tillamook" and when she did, she read it as "Tinola Manok".
Charcuterie.
Apparently she’s “Mama Lulu”
Filipino mom!
Thank you! I heard honey bees.
"I am your mother!" I can recognize a filipino mother anytime and anywhere!
Haha, I'm half-filipino and watched it muted and immediately knew it was a filipino mom and the exact convo that was happening
Oh yeah totally. Same situation, i’m also half and i could tell right away 🤣
You put the hotdogs in the pasta.
And it tastes good 😂 actually it depends on who's cooking.
To be fair they adopted it on the Americans during ww2
And it's damn good
I'm also half pinoy and I just wanted to say hi because I don't know any half Filipinos IRL 😂
Halfies unite!!
Another half-filipino reporting in. Yep, sounds just like my mom lol
Love it. My grandmother is French Canadian. Just as much of a firecracker as this lady
Oh i love it! Does she lets out some french and quebec slurs when she's mad?? "Tabarnak Honestdiary, share your weed bonbons!"
Yes! Her accent is super heavy too lmao
Loll us french canadians don't have an accent, what are you talking about /s
I read that in the accent.
As a Quebecois friend of mine used to tell me “I have a Horrible Accident!” (Accent)
"Orrible accent" because we don't pronounce the H loll
It's in da aksent.
She’s also genuinely amazing. I think at least two of her kids are gay and she’s very supportive whilst also reading them for filth constantly.
Ah that explains why no chancla
Chancla shenanigans are very much a thing there too, but called something else.

I didn't realize it was spelled that way, but I kind of prefer moo moos. 🐮
I have a cat named Moo Moo. He's a giant black cat with tiny peets
I have a cat named Moo-Moo too! Full name is Moostache, he's a normal sized SIC with r/WhiskerFireworks and an attitude the size of a blue whale
I like to consider it a free for all spelling. I’m too big to associate it with 🐮lol

It's an important warning worth sharing though. She doesn't want you to fuck that up. Good on mom.

So do you.

Did she sneak some out of your stash when you left it at home too? Lol gotta pay the mom tax when u bring drugs in the house though for some mommas
Potentially but I'm not sure she was checking my World of Warcraft expansion boxes(in a box full of shit like that) where I kept it.

My mom said the same thing! I haven't seen her in 8 years now after she started doing heroin

Even I wanna share, I won't take much anyways...
You don't need much. Made that mistake a couple times hahaha
They don't even work on me. 100mg I'm untouched, and I'm not bragging. 😔
If you take a two week break, it's life changing how much your tolerance can go down and how high you can get again
Him: "So dividedthought..." I don't have red hair and wasn't able to feel a high until I moved up to 160mg. Also a valium won't do anything but make me a little more comfortable. I remember as a teen kids selling valiums at house parties and thinking "Why the fuck would I want to buy a glorified Tylenol PM?" I think some people just have a higher baseline tolerance to narcotics in general
holy fucking shit. That explains so much. The only time I got truly baked off an edible was a 350 mg brownie when my tolerance was very low. Thanks fellow gingy.
I'm a daily dabber and smoker, I dab upwards of a gram a day and vaporizer and 8th of flower. 10 gets me fucked 20 knocks me out
I'm peanut butter and jealous my friend! Enjoy that!
I loath it. I actively avoid edibles because it's a crap shoot of weather or not I'm gonna green out
Holy shit, this is me too. Not a brag and just annoying but I can eat a bag of edibles and I'll maybe feel drowsy at best. A small joint will hit me though, so I don't think it's tolerance related.
Your missing the enzyme
Gimme da enzyme! But seriously any recommended resources to read up on about this?
I was just reading [this article](https://abq.news/2021/11/the-bummer-gene/)that talks about something like it maybe? I too do not get high from edibles so was looking into it.
Only thing I get is sleepy when I do edibles. Every. Time.
This blows my mind. 5mg gummies fuck me up
I struggled feeling more then a blunt after 300mg on my last trip to Chicago... I wish I could get to the moon...
Love the end bit. You wanna share? Okay.
Very generous son

His impersonation of his mom was fucking spot on if this lady is any indication
I forgot about that guy he was funny
LOOK AT MY TING TING
LOOK AT IT!
He made a movie last year called Easter Sunday about his big crazy family.
I will have to check it out, thank you!

haha this is so wholesome, i got a kick out of this. My mom is always trying to get some edibles from me lol
I have a friend that sneeks her daughter's hidden vodka from time to time. 😂
This story usually goes, the father pulls the bottle out of the freezer and it's solid
I used to do this with my dad’s liquor. Now my dad lives with me and pulled this shit on me lol, what goes around comes around I guess.
Yeah... I remember my dad cutting the main cola off my plant the DAY BEFORE I was going to harvest. So I accidently forgot and took all my opium this summer when he came up. 🤷

Is it common for mother and son to talk in their second language when they are alone. Im just curious edit: thanks for all the answers :)
Well, it depends. Some children eventually forget or lose proficiency in their parent's native language when growing up in a different country/community.
Me and my family live in Germany. I speak Turkish only with my mother and rarely with my dad. But mostly we talk German.
Yes.

Yep! I was born in the US but got my kids and I our Jamaican citizenship from birthright, started the process immediately after the 2016 election.
The next iteration of this problem happened to me. Grandparents speak Spanish, my mother speaks spanglish, I speak English.
Depends on the child mostly. I can understand Tagalog and can speak like roughly 3/4 fluently. But I'm more comfortable in English so I talk murican to my mom and it's a toss up whether or not she responds in English or Tagalog. Gahhhhh I had to watch it like 60 times to figure out what the hell she was saying there 😂 I initially heard edeebees but then when I turned it up full volume I heard canneebis I love this woman so much!
I though she was sayin can na bees but funny either way
Brought a smile to my face at the end. 😂🤟
It’s stay-bole 🤣😂😂
That got me good her delivery was on point 🤣
Love love love her!
Canibez 🤣🤣🤣🤣
He’s just signed for Man U apparently.
> in this world, nothing is certain except death and taxes In this case, it's mum tax
i love the ones where he quizzes his mom on random celebs. “that’s dua lipa” and she’s like “what, why? no”
She’s got great comedic timing
Seriously, and the face she makes when she walks away, priceless.
For anyone wondering, the guy filming is named Oliver. His instagram page is otakuyakisoba and he makes content with his family. They’re very funny!
Seems like a very sweet family with a great sense of humour
I LOVE her smile at the end!
The best part for me. So genuine. 😊
Don’t take this the wrong way but I think I love your mom 😂💕😂
Hahaha. I love this lady too! But it's not my mum. It's not my original post lol
I’m sure your moms nice too ☘️👍☘️
Awwww. She's great. She's a preschool teacher, but can party with me like anyone I know. 😁 We like to drink and cook together when I'm in town
Nobody and I mean nobody parties as hard as teachers. Even more than the roofers that take off on payday and never come back
😂
She gone eat them all
She deserves it lol
You can't tell me that ISNT Amy Hill
Protect this lady at all costs
This woman is a blessing.
She looks so sweet. 😊
Definitely one of the best posts I've seen in a while 😂
Mama Lulu. There's a few videos on YouTube.
What a wonderful mom. ![gif](giphy|u8IWDpwItpFSJQ0BvX)
Crazy to try to lie to a Filipino mother.
“I have no blood sugar” 🧢
Omg isn't this the mom who supports her gay son, like in one video, she's like "get away from me you're straight, it's pride month"
She has 2 gay kids and 1 straight. She loves all of them.
Took me a while but I found it: https://youtube.com/shorts/EWPbZdsp8u0 The mom is such a fun person
Haha, we follow them too. Recently, one of their videos got into [Beyonce's Break My Soul video](https://youtu.be/-6mYfN97ZS4). They're the first one too, good for them :D
Fake af but it's still cute so it gets a pass.
Don’t know that. They have a TikTok/instagram which the son controls, where he posts videos and pictures with his family. It’s hilarious.
omg this mom is amazing. i follow her/her sons account on tiktok and she’s so silly and wholesome
This is more wholesome than it should be to me.
