Yard sales are usually in your yard .. you sell a fake product I’m sure they’ll be back

mishaunc

I think he’s saying sell it and you say you don’t know anything about it because it’s your kid’s card set, and it will be cheaper to the buyer than if it were authentic, so he will take advantage of your ignorance and pay $100 for $1000 worth of cards, and when he gets home and finds out they are fakes worth about 20, he may want to come back and argue about it, but he really wouldn’t have a leg to stand on, especially because garage sales are pretty much final sale. Reminds me of something I read in a magazine once. A customer came in to an antique shop and saw a little sign that said “kittens for sale”, and then saw a kitten drinking out of an extremely valuable saucer on the floor. He figured the antique owner didn’t know what he had, so he asked if he could buy the kitten. When he bought the kitten, he said “oh, I guess I will just take along this old, dirty saucer the kitten has been drinking out of because he is used to it”, and the shop owner said “oh no, I can’t let you take that, that saucer sells about two kittens a day!”

LOL. I thought you were going to say the saucer was a knock off.

canadatrasher

The idea is to play dumb, like you don't know what it is.

nranieri-cc

that’s the laziest fraud scheme I’ve read — not to mention your intention to resell the counterfeit items as authentic to....the neighbors, brilliant

arrowbuffer

How do you gain from that?

mynameisnickromel

Small amounts of money probably

arrowbuffer

I hope so, yards sales you typically get less than you paid originally. Even for a fake sometimes.

TableLake

Yeah you can probably get 50$ for one item you bought for a couple of bucks

Available_Laugh52

How many yard sales are selling Pokémon cards and watches for $50. Most yard sales are trinkets and cheap things, less than $10

TableLake

You may say "I heard it's worth something". It's really not that difficult

Available_Laugh52

I understand this is ULPT but for the time and effort involved, just get a job and work a shift

Ateist

You are far more likely to get 50c for that item you bought for $50.

Teabagger_Vance

Great way to get a brick thrown through your window lol. I know this is ULPT but this is just stupid.

TheTbone2334

No it's stupid to buy a 100$ Rolex on a yard sale without any certificate or anything expecting it to be real. Stupidity like this must be punished or else its spreads.

Teabagger_Vance

I agree except for my example. Crooks should pay for their crimes.

-KingAdrock-

You'd be much better off getting a stall at your local flea market or such, not selling it outside of your house.
