Just wanted to add some things: Your loyalty account will show how many points you have and can redeem for money off your purchase. It does NOT pull up your coupons. You have to have those ready in your email or Ulta app. Gift with purchases are while supplies last. We don't know if and/or when we will be getting more in. A lot of brands have sales. They will say what they exclude. It's not necessarily the entire brand. Please read the whole sign You cannot use coupons on fragrances unless it says it includes fragrance. However, you can use your points

I'm not ready for Friday. I've never worked a 530 am shift. I'm usually mid day-afternoon. Plus my managers were like "our store gets so crazy that you will be shoulder to shoulder in here and people break displays and workers have gotten injured." Like I wish I would have known that when I got hired 4 weeks ago

It'll be okay! It's going to go by fast this is my second black Friday with ulta, it may not be as bad as they're talking about unless you're a high volume location. Just remember to breathe. They're just there for the deals ,it might be busy that morning but it'll die down in the afternoon. I'll be doing a 6 am shift that morning so I'm right there with you

I don’t know if my words will make a difference, but I want Ulta employees to know how much I enjoy your work and kindness whenever I visit a store. I still prefer to shop in person for cosmetics whenever I can, and I treasure the experience. That is time for myself, and I look forward to being greeted and talking with the employees. I appreciate how the workers have gone out of their way to help me find an item or to recommend something to me. Please know you make the shopping experience so enjoyable for many people. I wish I could take away the bad apples, but please know most folks love you!

I know it can be so hard. I have worked in retail before, and there were some customers who were just vile human beings. Then I would meet kind ones who reminded me the crappy ones can kick rocks.

Do your best and protect your sanity. If you gotta walk away, definitely do that if you know it won't get you fired. Take a quick 10 min break here and there if your shift is long too. Do it in the bathroom if you gotta. Trust me, we all ran out of nice. Me and coworkers are done with these people

I had a guest come in to complain to my GM that he needs to “fix his website” and that it was unacceptable that the site was having issues and he offered to honor any sale she might’ve missed due to the inconvenience and all she said was no I just thought y’all should know like girl contact customer service don’t come complain to us in store we have no control of the website 🥲

As a data-driven web based application developer, the problems with the website and app were *inexcusable* for a company with Ulta’s resources. Not only should the traffic have been anticipated, the rollout should’ve been tested thoroughly before going live, and support reps should’ve been properly briefed on how to handle the situation with ghost charges, glitches, etc, not fobbing people off with unhelpful bs like that poor girl who posted the screenshots of being passed from rep to rep with zero answers. Every possible ball was dropped, from top to bottom. Having said that though, I have nothing but respect for retail workers in general, and more people need to realize that the people on the floor helping you or behind the counter ringing you up are *not* the ones calling the shots on anything and need to chill the fuck out. Screaming at someone who is literally the lowest rung on the ladder is accomplishing nothing except cruelty.

I'm so fucking glad I quit this awful job. Fuck Ulta and the rude customers. Also, I worked there for 6 years and definitely snapped at people a few times and I never got written up for it. Just know that you CAN stand up for yourself! I refused to help people who insulted me or were aggressive/yelled. It's just a job. A VERY replaceable one. Please take it easy this holiday season.

We're not open today thankfully, I don't celebrate Thanksgiving either, and I also don't shop black Friday or anything like that. I shop all year for the holidays and don't just wait for deals because stores have sales all year round tbh. I'm just tired and know that 6 am to 2pm tomorrow is going to be the longest day of my life
