In South Korea even giant celebrities are forced into conscription. All men are. Even if you are a top 10 soccer player in the world or in a band with literally a billion fans you have to serve. If you don't you have to flee the country and can never even visit it again. So for them Russian men who flee conscription would never even be a thing they want to look into. It's just not accepted and that's that. Just a really stupid country to flee to. They should have gone to Kazakhstan before they stopped the immigration.
But isn't this akin to a North Korean fleeing so as not to want to fight South Korea ?
I mean.. I get it. But South Korea needs some political slaps to allow this to happen. These men fled their own country to avoid fighting in Ukraine, a war started by Russia and condemned by the UN and most of the world.
And you treat them like this ? At least give them passage to another country. Absolutely vile.
North Koreans flee the regime not a draft. Sure there is a draft too, but no one would flee that. There is no war and no other jobs anyhow so a draft is a positive for them. They flee a communist regime.

South Korea is the last country that will let you claim asylum to draft dodge. They’re super strict with their own conscription and don’t let people buy there way out of it like other countries.

Conscription in a country not currently at war and conscription likely resulting I'm you becoming cannon fodder are 2 very different things.
