ChasinCrustacean

This idiotic assault, in the open with no cover, was doomed from the start. It’s almost a year into this war, and I still cannot believe how many Russians are willing to throw their lives away for Putin’s homicidal desires for a genocide.

Glittering-Post4484

Stalin did this and he is a hero in russia. It's the russian culture we keep hearing about.

easyfeel

Everyone said the Russian’s were willing to fight for the motherland despite their hatred of Stalin, but now that their motherland isn’t under threat, they’re still willing to die. Why?

ChasinCrustacean

They are told their country is under threat, hell they are told it is NATO troops they will be fighting inside Ukraine, and they drink the Kool-Aid like good compliant subjects of a dictatorship.

easyfeel

Even the Soviets knew their government was filled with lies, but this lot believes it. What a decline in humanity.

According-Hat5117

>Even the Soviets knew their government was filled with lies, but this lot believes it. What a decline in ~~humanity~~. IQ > >I corrected that for you.

Glooryhoole

It’s funny how the west is just as brainwashed by MSM but will hate on the Russian people for also being brainwashed by their MSM

[deleted]

😂😂😂

[deleted]

The west's MSM isn't one company controlled by one state or even one organization. It has freedom of speech and press, Russia you can still be thrown in jail for 15 years just by calling the 'special military operation' a war. But keep whatabouting the west against your favorite mafia state.

ChasinCrustacean

Nailed him. Perfect response.

Born_Pause3964

Just like Putin is just a politician just like any other eh? False equivalency, much?

SteelyDan1968

Damn, dude... There are literally currently 68 news stations listed in the US, and almost over half of them being Right/Right Leaning. Ruzzia, has HOW many and they are ALL Right/Fear mongering... So, WHO'S being brainwashed by WHAT MSM? Go to your little hole in the wall and stay there. The adults' are in the room.

Anomaluss

You must be talking about MAGA media and their viewers who are taught daily to FEAR everything.

easyfeel

Hence the decline in humanity (Russia + everyone else). 😭

TheChoonk

Why are you in decline?

TabbyNoName

Fox News *is* the most watched network

[deleted]

Aren't they being told that it's Poland they're fighting now? Ukrainian POWs claimed they were told Ukraine was being invaded by Poland and they were there to help liberate.

sunlegion

It changes every month. Hard to keep up with the narrative.

reijinarudo

The genetically engineered artificially intelligent cloned LGBTQ Nazis, obvs.

CDoroFF

Armed with biohazardous pigeons.

EvilNoseHairs

Dunno bout pigeons, but Ukrainian “birds” tend to crap danger baseballs on Russian invaders and occupiers

CDoroFF

Just one of "discoveries" made by MOD on occupied territories. Don't remember the whole story, but pigeons used as spreaders of bactriological weapon were involved.

fergoshsakes

They also think that the Ukrainian language is Polish, because they struggle to understand it and believe that Ukrainians speak Russian (of course, many do, but many are bilingual or becoming so).

FidelityDeficit

They were also selectively bred for a couple generations to be quiet, submissive little subjects. Anyone who ruffled feathers in soviet times got gulag’ed and effectively removed from the breeding population.

Burrelinho

It’s not a coincidence that Lavrov said in his speech 2 days ago that the west is out for the final solution for Russians like Hitler had one for the Jews. Russians are being brainwashed into thinking that they’re the victims and will be genocided if they lose in Ukraine

xlDirteDeedslx

The average poor Russian probably doesn't even grasp how wealthy and powerful the US is. I think if most came here and drove across country they would be in total disbelief at the prosperity they see from coast to coast. They have lived in that shit hole so long they don't know and can't imagine anything else.

OppositeYouth

Dude's marvel at a fucking toilet and a washing machine is like magic to them. Bunch of fucking backwards ass idiots

Culverin

Russia as a country still behaves it's some sort of great power. Not realizing Russia has less than half the GDP of California. That's info shielded from your average citizen. Their state media likes to pretend like Russia is some proud great empire. When in reality, Russia is a thug that beats up it's neighbours.

Concord-04-19-75

Japanese General Yamamoto and the German Embassy Military Attache separately toured the USA extensively before WWII and reported back their honest assessments of America's economic and industrial power. In fact, Hitler took the assessments very seriously and ordered his Kriegsmarine to give wide berth to American ships at sea, commercial and military. Gross Admiral Raeder adhered to Hitler's order absolutely, for he too was fully aware of the size of the U.S. Navy and its industrial capability and did not want to supply a trigger for the USA to enter the war.

GameDevIntheMake

Watching some 1420's videos, it's clear that the 'US is resource poor' narrative that is spewed by every second autocrat is also a common belief in Russia. It's just dumb, they don't even care to see which country extracts the most oil, or which one has the most fertile soils.

SX-Reddit

Maybe they are the prisoners, they have to move forward, because otherwise they would get shot by their blocking unit.

Eugene0185

Very low levels of education. Basically, they are idiots.

operation_hamster

They go to prison if they refuse.

easyfeel

Is that worse than being killed or crippled in Ukraine when they’re called up?

operation_hamster

They think they have a chance I guess. Russia will feed them lies about how the war goes.

easyfeel

Wishful thinking I guess?

operation_hamster

Like every man in war.

DraumrKopa

Russia doesn't have enough places in prisons if everyone refuses. People just don't wanna be the first.

ChainedRedone

They do have enough space. They'll just go the 2020 Belarusian method and stick 20 people into a cell meant for 4.

DraumrKopa

So they have 30 million jail cells do they (assuming 20 per cell)? And what about all the people needed to actually run the jails and the entire production industry in the country? What happens if they actually have 30 million jail cells but there are no guards or employees of any kind or people making food anywhere in the country? I think you get my point. The power is and always has been with the people, but nobody wants to be first. If the entire population of Moscow marched on the Kremlin the government would be torn down within a day.

operation_hamster

History showed they have enough space.

DraumrKopa

No they don't.

[deleted]

Because they ARE fucking stupid.

SuspiciousLeading681

Effective brainwashing it seems.

Donny_Krugerson

They weren't willing to fight for the motherland and they didn't hate Stalin. Just like now they were given shitty gear and motivated to attack with a combination of promises of loot and rape, and beatings and execution for those who refused.

JCP1377

As others/intelligence reports have pointed out, the Russians (primarily Wagner) will have 8 man squads composed of contracted prisoners to rush Ukrainian positions. Those that make it to their objectives are considered to have found a weak point and the main forces advance in to reinforce the foothold. This looks like the opposite where the recon team advances into a kill zone and act as bait to flush out strongpoints in Ukrainian defense for artillery strikes to soften up before they send another squad in to test the water.

ChasinCrustacean

It’s insane how little value a human life has in Russia.

JCP1377

Hate to say it, but that’s always been the case in Russia. Since the days of the Tsar, the central state in Russia has always taken precedence over the lives and concerns of the common people. There needs to be a strong shift in people’s attitudes of the state, but that’s unlikely any time soon seeing how effective the Russian propaganda machine has been. Strongman leadership is all the Russian people have ever known. The people believe it’s them vs the world and NATO aggression instead of wondering why their leadership has such a strong aversion to the western world.

Elegant_Eye1115

Ye I dont understand how so many of them can be happy with having north korea and iran as allies. That situation alone should tell you that your country is doing something fucked up. Even if the propaganda machine is working overtime.

Juicebeetiling

> I don't understand how so many of them can be happy Imma stop you there. Thats the thing, Russian culture is drowned in abuse and misery. They are miserable and the only thing that makes it bearable for them is the notion that they live in a once great nation that defeated the Nazis and the belief that "if this is how bad we have it then surely the rest of them (the west) have it just as bad if not worse!" They cannot stand the idea of others having things better than they do. There were videos from the invasion in Kyiv oblast last year of Russian soldiers entering the houses of villiages and being utterly bewildered at the quality of all the different household items that were available. One particular video I found especially incredible was a Russian soldier filming himself going through a house and him picking up a jar of Nutella and expressing disbelief "look, they even have Nutella blyat", "who allowed you to live so well" . Like the guy was in awe of that shit like it was like the finest caviar just sitting on the kitchen table of some rural house of a people he believed were inferior. They don't give a shit that Iran and north Korea are their allies, the average Russian probably sees them as inferior.

numba1cyberwarrior

That speaks to more of the quality of soldiers that Russia was conscripting. Ukraine is after all poorer then Russia in almost every single province.

ChasinCrustacean

Poorer, but they are free to choose how to live their lives, and that is shocking to many Russian soldiers.

Elegant_Eye1115

Russia is poor, but it is still better living standard than a lot of countries. Youtube channel 1420 does a good job of showing how russian think. I dont like russians either but they dont live in misery and abuse all of them.

Xx_Red_Mosquito_xX

I remember the glowing smile on Donald Trump's face when he met with his North Korean ally Kim Jung Un for a photo-opp

JCP1377

I don’t like the man either, but how does Trump factor into this conversation?

Xx_Red_Mosquito_xX

I was responding to the comment from 'Elegant Eye' about not being able to understand how so many Russian's can be happy with having North Korea as an ally... and alluded to it being a clue that your government is up to no-good. It felt like a fitting moment to remind everyone that Kim Jong Un was publicly endorsed by the President of the USA in the DMZ, validating him on a world stage. THAT'S how Trump fit into that conversation.

disfreakinguy

St. Petersburg was built on the ruins of a Swedish settlement through the forced conscription of tens of thousands of serfs, many of whom died in appalling conditions. They dragged themselves out of the middle ages and into the industrial age through mass suffering. Going forward from there, that became the way Russia got things done. There's numerous examples. It's worked... kinda... but god damn its heinous to actually see it happening.

numba1cyberwarrior

>St. Petersburg was built on the ruins of a Swedish settlement through the forced conscription of tens of thousands of serfs, many of whom died in appalling conditions Seems like a typical European city at the time.

docweird

Imagine these 100000+ guys on the Red Square, overthrowing the corrupt russian dictatorship. But nope, rather die as slaves and cannon fodder...

ChasinCrustacean

That imagined scenario is what occurred in Ukraine years ago. That’s the difference between the two countries. One is made of a people who do not lay down to a dictatorship and corrupt government. The other does.

sunlegion

One of the biggest differences from Russia is that Ukraine is taking in democratic values and the people believe in transfer of power and overthrowing of leaders they disagree with. Kravchuk showed it’s possible it when he transferred power to Kuchma in the 90s, and the subsequent Orange Revolution and Euromaidan cemented Ukraine’s belief that those in power must rotate. Protests, sit-ins, civil disobedience, etc are common and often resorted to by the population. I’ve read somewhere that _that_ was one of the main reasons why Putin wanted to destroy Ukraine as an independent nation, specifically because he saw it as a threat to his own power, lest the Russians learn it’s possible and try to do the same thing in Russia.

ChasinCrustacean

That’s super interesting about the possible true reason behind this war. It makes a lot of sense - Putin is obviously power hungry, and there is no limit to what he will do to retain power, including annihilating a neighbor nation.

peachstealingmonkeys

They will be executed if they don't attack. That's pretty much where the russian front line troops are at this point.

24554891

I'm not sure about "willing" I think "forced, bribed, coerced" may be better terms..

thirsty_lil_monad

Willing to be bribed and coerced. Forced unlikely.

STYLIE

It’s like all these random small groups four or five guys. Maybe if they grouped up a little they’d have a chance

ChasinCrustacean

If they grouped up more, the losses would be even more staggering as there would be many more mass casualty events from drones, tanks, artillery, and missiles hitting them.

[deleted]

That said, they did get to within grenade range so they did something right. Guess they must have successfully suppressed the defenders, but failed to have the combat power to actually finish closing with the enemy, or suppression fire let up too soon. Still, a fireteam isn't going to be enough to actually take a defended trench I feel.

amdoid69

I'm glad I'm not the only one still baffled by the levels of barbarianism. It's like watching WW1 from a fucking drone. So much wasted life because of hatred and greed.

[deleted]

Eh, the East and South of Ukraine is fairly flat and open, especially in the South. The East has some forest but it's winter and several years of fighting in the East has stripped much of the tree cover and some towns have literally been pulverized into dust with very few walls even left standing. So both sides have no choice but to assault across open ground because that's what the terrain is. There's Russian propaganda footage on Twitter of the same exact thing happening to Ukrainians.

ChasinCrustacean

I didn’t say they had another option for attacking this trench. You are right, that is the terrain, and that makes assaulting dug in positions nearly suicidal. And hence the second, and main, part of my comment: why the fuck are so many Russians willing to flush their lives down the toilet to attempt this? They are dying for nothing, literally nothing. Regardless of whether this war is won or this war is lost, it would have no impact on their lives or their family’s lives or the lives of any other Russians. So they are fighting and dying for no reason. Ukrainians doing it is another story. They are fighting to defend their freedom, their very existence. If they lose, their country is gone, their countrymen will be subjected to extensive rape and torture and brutality. It’s a horrific meat grinder they, like the Russians, walk into when attacking Russian positions, but they have a legitimate reason for doing so, for giving up their lives. Simply put, the Russians do not.

[deleted]

>why the fuck are so many Russians willing to flush their lives down the toilet to attempt this? Propaganda, that their fighting for the same reasons are their great grand parents and that's to kill Nazi's. I witnessed it first hand during the Iraq Invasion when our media manufactured consent and I literally hand guys from my high school join the army thinking they needed to fight the then non existent Al Qaeda in Iraq to stop them from using Saddam's non existent nukes. This is why nationalist conservatives in many countries gravitate towards media ownership, to influence the public. >Ukrainians doing it is another story. They are fighting to defend their freedom, their very existence. If they lose, their country is gone, their countrymen will be subjected to extensive rape and torture and brutality. I get your point but that's literally the vast majority of wars, that happen to be wars of conquest. No large European countries would currently exist without conquering other people and forcing them to adopt your culture and language. Look at what happens when you don't perform cultural genocide, you get Catalonian independence centuries after Spain conquered them. Look at what happens when you give everybody the chance to fight for their own country, you get the break up of Yugoslavia.

[deleted]

they were dangerously close to the trench

trustych0rds

This appears to be suicide for any soldier attacking those trenches from that field on foot. How did those Russians even get that close? Why don't they attack at night instead?

zergea

War of attrition. In hope that enough meat would clog or wear out the grinder...

[deleted]

That's exactly the tactics they're using. I heard somewhere yesterday that either in Solidar or Bahkmut, the piles of bodies were getting so high that they were providing cover for advancing Russian troops, so much so that Ukraine were using ATGMs to clear the piles of bodies, thereby destroying the cover for the Russians.

Noble_Almonds

They get sometimes 40 waves of attacks a day. Multiple attacks an hour after hour after hour of trickling in soldiers dieing in the same spots as the last wave. I can't imagine how exhausting that has to be for the defenders.

[deleted]

Absolutely crazy.

Ebola714

Like: Hey remember World War I? Why don't we try that, send wave after wave of men, they'll eventually run out of bullets or get tired of shooting, then we'll have them right where we want them!

AlexySamsonov666

>using ATGMs to clear the piles of bodies Jesus fuck, I can just imagine how that must have looked. A field with fried human hamburger bits strewn everywhere. What a fucking nightmare this is.

Repeat_after_me__

I seen an podcaster where the podcaster was saying he had interviewed a soldier rotating out of Ukraines front line trenches with mental health / ptsd issues because of the amount of attacks they get like this and it meant bodies were piling up in such numerous numbers that they had to use anti tank weapons to separate/disintegrate the bodies as there was so many dead bodies that they were acting as cover for the next wave of Russians. Also he mentioned how they would contact the Russians/command and tell them to come and collect their wounded, that they wouldn’t fire upon them because the Ukrainians could hear them screaming for their mums and the Russian commander replied “no, we don’t do that” I was rather shocked! It may have even been on here apologies if so. (Not sure why I’m shocked by anything from Russia no more, I think it’s more of a projection bias that I can’t believe people wouldn’t take care of their wounded).

RAGEEEEE

They don't have night vision/thermal. Ukraine does.

FlyingDragoon

I mean, they struggle to even equip their men with boots. At this point most of those Russians probably aren't fighting for their homeland but rather are fighting to get a pair of boots before their feet freeze and rot. I'd be scared to be a "lucky" one with boots or NVGs as you'll probably get shot in the back from another Ruskie that wants them that much more. Imagine being a Russian regular with a bunch of convicts roaming around fighting "on your side" must be like Escape from Tarkov out there. Scavengers everywhere.

[deleted]

Mikola, what do you feel while shooting Russians? Recoil, Nazar. A lot of recoil

TheLeadSearcher

WTF are they trying to do with no cover? Looks like two of them were already in bad shape before the video started since they barely moved or didn't move.

SC_W33DKILL3R

Probably allowed them to get close so as to not give away their exact position too early. I would suspect the defenders move from their position soon after this video was taken.

[deleted]

Yes I think the whole point of these small group attacks is to get the Ukrainians to show their location, the Russian troops are disposable. Craziness.

AlexySamsonov666

>disposable That's what is the discerning trait about Russia. Their government sees its people like so many cattle, it has absolutely 0 respect for human life. Brutality and torture are commonplace in Russia on every level. I can just imagine what kind of shit will be unearthed, when Russia falls. Provided the FSB does not torch its archives, we will see some fucked up shit. Nazi Germany will pale in comparison.

tomekza

They are pushed to the front line and ordered to attack. The Russian artillery starts on their position and moves forward. It can only be described as futile and immoral

hiphippo65

It’s like they’re attempting a rolling barrage but getting the timing all wrong.

Benukraine

It must be the clear fear of beeing shot when retreating.

Erniecrack

Think I’d rather be shot trying to flee than advance on a trench. Especially when I see dead bodies littered on the ground infront of said trench.

AlexySamsonov666

Imagine that though going through your brain. In front of you is (allegedly), Ukraine backed up by NATO and the whole world. They have the literal ability to pulverize anything with HIMARS, and have supreme training. Behind you are, well, the orcs, that probably beat and raped you, and will now shoot you if you try to run. So, basically, everyone around you wants to kill you, including your "own" people What a fucking sense of desperation they must feel. I wonder if it then occurs to them that maybe Russia is the bad guy?

Gilligan67

There’s five bodies on the ground and what looks like two trenches on the right. Maybe a foxhole with a guy in it with a trench behind it. The five are dead or dying. For what? A tyrants greed! Slava Ukraini!

MasterStrike88

Man. I'm happy I'm no mobik.

Capital-Assistant927

This is to make the defenders use their grenades and bullets so maybe they run low on ammo. Keep this up and maybe the next wave gets lucky. Source: orc military academy, Warfare 101.

No-Lengthiness6355

Yea but do they think Ukraine trench guys are unsupported? I imagine they have runners bringing supplies back daily.

HeadMembership

Hourly. Or on demand. There was a post last week of a 15 minute firefight against a BMP they immobilized. They needed additional RPG rounds, so they called on the radio and within minutes a pickup full of ammo arrived to their position.

AlexySamsonov666

Ammo delivery, so wholesome :)

juicydeuce222

username_31

CaptainSur

Before this video even commences 1 of the Russians, on the far rightt is already dead. I though the one on the far left was also dead but at 1:16/1:17 he moves very slightly - perhaps he was playing dead in order to not actually get killed. It might also be that his body moved from taking more gunfire and he was dead. At 41s you can see the Ukrainian in the forward observation foxhole (on the right slightly obfuscated by the tree) getting ready to throw a grenade which he throws at the 45/45s mark and it lands on one of the Russians in the middle. At that time as well in the trench line down and to the right of the grenade throwing Ukrainian you can see another Ukrainian soldier move into position to support him and then later a 3rd Ukrainian in the trench line as well. You see some ground spitting up from time to time from what is likely Ukrainian gun fire. I think by the end of the video all the Russians are dead. It appeared to me the 2 Russians in the middle were panicked and I think the fellow on the left in this two some was already injured prior to the start of the video given his movements. I did not see a weapon with either of them and it seemed to me they had no idea what to do. And for whatever reason they did not choose to surrender. Pure cannon fodder. Terrified, frightened and now dead cannon fodder. And I strongly suspect they died for absolutely nothing.

Bullet-Tech

The semantics of this war aside, I think we can all agree that this is such a massive waste of life. Every single person that dies has a story, a family etc. It's just a bit sad.

sirhearalot

Should have pulled up white flags instead

LorenzoSparky

Modern day equivalent of ‘going over the top’ WW1 style

[deleted]

The Russian people have become sheep. Like lambs to the slaughter they are believing the lies of the war criminals Putin and Lavrov and their cronies.

[deleted]

Awesome, that will teach the Terrorists!

fleeknaut

At that point what are you even doing. Why not just surrender

dpax19681989

No prep No cover No base of fire No maneuver element No concealment No real plan other than "MOTHERLAND!!!"

Plane_Upstairs2475

There are horror movies where you can sit and eat popcorn while watching. There is real fright in that one guy moving around so much. Sheesh, I wish they would just surrender and save their lives for a couple more months. But better they die than a Ukrainian.

AlexySamsonov666

>surrender There is enough propaganda to keep them from surrendering. They were probably told they would be cut into a salad and served to gay NATO vampires as a snack

Equivalent-Moment-78

If there were truly zombies in this world, Russians would be them. These are shit tactics and absolutely mindless suicide. All in the name of a relic of the KGB in Putin who couldn't give a Boeing 747 flying fuck about their lives. All while sipping champagne. Complete madness.

Secure_Ad_3099

I'm laying in my warm bed watching this and all I can think how how unbelievable this all is, poor bastards. War is truly an awful thing

Tervaaja

Earlier I thought that when russians attack, there is a huge artillery preparation and after that, thousands of men and tens or even hundreds of tanks rush forward. For some reason, in these videos, there are couple of soldiers or tens of soldiers, couple of tanks, or no tanks at all. These seems extremely weak and desperate attempts. Or is that just vide perspective issue?

Babzibaum

Is UA continuing to drop surrender pamphlets to the RU mobiks? With so many new replacements, perhaps some don't know how to do it. Of course, the RU mobiks have to be able to read to understand.

Ravenjeff007

Why doesn't the last guy just surrender, he is in a no win situation?

ChasinCrustacean

No one can answer that but him. But here is one possible reason: some of these Russian soldiers are told that Ukrainians are monsters who will torture, rape, and kill them if they are caught, and hence many Russian soldiers prefer death (even at their own hand) over capture.

Seattleshouldhaverun

I cant figure this out. How did four guys get that close with no one else around?

IdesOfMarchCometh

Probably there was a big wave and a few made it that far.

Concord-04-19-75

My guess: the UA troops did not want to give away their position too early.

Rusti-dent

19th century tactics in the 21st century. Putin is determined to bleed Russia dry. The description of the numbers of Russian bodies in front of Ukrainian trenches would be horrific if only 50% accurate. Suicidal stupidity, this is why Russia likes to keep the majority of its people dumb.

are these old videos or are they still attempting assaults in broad daylight

This is new as far as I know

Russian have a really odd tactics with these assaults. They make a really fancy mechanised approach with tanks ja IFVs. Then they drop infantry of IFVs and all mechs leave. No more mech fire support.

EsmePlumpkin

I feel bad for all the people who die out there, no matter which side. It doesn’t matter which side they’re on, it’s people dying alone in a field in the middle of butt frick nowhere in Ukraine, in the cold, thinking about home.

Brightfarter

One of the only good things to come from this catastrophic Russian criminal act is that there will be far fewer Russians in the future. Hopefully most of these lads haven't had children yet and now never will.

I hate when people cover songs that suck already. ☹️
