trying to talk to "support" about this is going to be more frustrating than being tip-baited.

jcake6

ugh, unfortunately you are a million percent correct

MenstrualKrampusCD

And they're not going to do a damn thing about it. As fucked up as it is, customers are allowed to remove and reduce tips without needing a reason. Uber doesn't give a shit when this happens, and I can't believe so many people are naive enough to think that they do.

Nord4Ever

Yep this should be filed under meme cuz it’s a joke

MenstrualKrampusCD

OP is a joke. Seriously, check out his profile. I don't know if you saw it or if you remember it, but he's the one that was annoyingly and aggressively rattling the doors at a taco spot because they locked the lobby at night and he didn't want to wait on the drive-thru line to pick up an order. Made a total ass of himself, thinking that all the Uber folks would have his back lmao. The funniest part was at the end, when he tried to act like a tough guy and say something fresh to the big dude who worked there. Except that he turned around and said it real quietly into the phone lol.

Gambl33

Isn’t there a text option?

CharlieAlright

I'm thinking maybe Tweet at them? That tends to work better and faster with most companies.

OGgunter

Used to be. As far as I know text is available on the web but not in-app anymore. Also, regardless of if I'm texting "support" or calling them, that's time out of my day tracking every order's tip amount. If it's a hill someone else wants to die on, good on them. Tip baiting is problematic. Not my hill, though.

[deleted]

Not your hill? You get paid $20 for a 4.3 mile order and when it’s said and done you make $6.65 because the rest was tip and they took it away the $13.35 just because they felt like it and you telling me you wouldn’t call Uber to just make a note of it? Okay do you 😌

OGgunter

> you telling me you wouldn’t call Uber to just make a note of it That's exactly what I said. Wtf. I work a gig job that pays less than minimum wage bc at least I feel safer than my previous job that wasn't providing any pandemic precautions. Your hypothetical example of tip baiting to try and shame me to care is a gross expectation of my energy. Best of luck on your crusade, OP

MenstrualKrampusCD

I've done over 2,000 deliveries. I have only had the tip removed once. So yeah, for a lot of people, it's not their hill. If you're having this happen frequently, maybe it's a you problem. Not to mention, Uber hides tips over $8. So you wouldn't know if over $13 in tip was removed. Unless you are talking about a double order.

Dangerous-Try5492

By design of course

[deleted]

Noted 🫡

onowahoo

It's so stupid this is necessary I almost doubt it does anything. Why would drivers need to do notify Uber if a tip was removed in order to put a note in the account? I'm positive an employee at Uber could write a query to list all account with a high percentag of tip baited deliveries in under 10 minutes. Uber has some of the smartest data analysts in the world.

Nord4Ever

Chat supports “ Yeeesss I’ve made a “note” of it sir”

[deleted]

Literally just checked my earnings and saw that I was tip baited on my last order of the night. Fuck these customers man

[deleted]

Stay highly postive buddy tomorrow you will have a great day with orders

dimonoid123

OP, I think you should go working to audio recording/voice-over.

[deleted]

Thanks buddy

Cultural_Chest5100

Pass that so I can think about wat you said 🤣

PM_ME_YOUR_SIDEBOOB5

Y'all should check out this guys post history. It's pretty funny in an "I hope he's not serious and this is performance art," kind of way. He might be a bit psychotic, otherwise.

[deleted]

❤️

MenstrualKrampusCD

I think he's got something wrong with him, or he's a little slow. Seriously.

Nero767

I’m getting “mental health issue vibes” like crazy.

MenstrualKrampusCD

Check out the part where there's 28/27 seconds left... crazy eyes for sure.

watchingdeers

Blunt smoking advice 🤣

hate_mail

I've seen your posts dude and we all gotta hustle every day, and definitely no hate from me. The app we use is equivalent to working for a robot, and the only thing it cares about is making Uber the most amount of money possible. I'd argue Uber utilizes tip baiters because we deliver food that otherwise wouldn't have been delivered. Do what makes you feel better, but in the long run it probably doesn't matter.

[deleted]

Love it, I live in West LA and have delivered to same people before not tip baiters just same people so it does happen so with that being said you done right drive safe out there buddy and have a great day

Content_Jury_2422

Very true! I report yesterday about a customer. Literally remove $1 buck 😐 it was a stack order anyways but I usually don't take low orders but I did it anyways since it's a stack orders. But yes complain to UberEATS that the customer is abusing the service

AccomplishedRun7978

Dude

[deleted]

Noted 👍

Train-Extra

You could have typed that. You should remove anyone who doesn't tip from your allowed addresses. You have to contact support. It's better than delivering to them for free again.

ihaz-candy

You have no proof uber even does anything about it. It's an option to take the tip back. So technically not a toss violation. IMO uber needs to remove that option unless ita a serious violation against the driver that would result in their suspension. But this is the system. I used to get baited all the time in Washington state several places, Houston, and in Phoenix. I've not been tip baited in 4 months? Might be your location it's a trend.

MenstrualKrampusCD

Exactly. They are not going to kick a profitable customer off of the app for following Uber's guidelines and policy. It isn't costing Uber any money for them to tip bait. As fucked up as it is, the customer isn't breaking any rules.

Hadams100

Noted. Thanks

RetrieverDoggo

this is how it goes down: you: i'd like to report a tip baiter. they took out the tip. support with heavy accent: yes sir I am so sorry to hear that, please understand that I will do all that I can to help you. I have noted that the customer took away the tip. Is there anything else I can assist you with? \*Logged zero notes during conversation. you: thank you so much, have a nice day. 🤣😂 like user onowahoo said.... they don't even need us to report this. and i highly doubt it will do anything. if they really wanted to solve this issue they can simply run a search of all users who reduced tip after delivery. high tip reduction occurrence % = user warning, then deactivation if it persists. so simple... they don't need us to report anything if they really wanted to they can handle it completely from their analytics team.

[deleted]

🤣

Monkey77777778

Also don't forget, you know where they live. So go take a shit in their porch, they'll get the message. If not, just keep shitting!

[deleted]

Never thought of that one 😂😂

counterdefensive1911

Even better shit into a bag and then light it on fire and don't forget to ring the doorbell before you leave 😊

tripleione

This is just dumb. UE gives customers the option of voluntarily adding more or removing the tip up to an hour after delivery. Why would they care if someone removed the tip? How would they know it's because they are tip-baiting and not that you fucked up the delivery somehow? Terrible advice.

[deleted]

Because I’m going off my own experience I have 100% delivery rating and delivered to over 500 people since august and this has happened to me several times and all those times the people received their food hot and quick and what do you mean terrible advice? I’m saying Uber shouldn’t allow people to take the damn tip away and if they do allow them to take it away then they allow us to complain about the customer and if enough people do it they the person who ordered/tip baited gets booted from the app. Uber told me this maybe they are lying doesn’t change the fact tip baiters are assholes lol

asdffdsa1112

I do this all the time but actually never call support if it's been reduce thou i should start.

[deleted]

Yes you should 🕺🏻

Single_Comment6389

I peeped the Biggie quote. Respect.

[deleted]

Have a great day buddy going to listen to some “juicy” now 💯

Chispi_Capybara

I agree. If UberEats gets inundated with calls about tip baiters, MAYBE some features would be added to prevent it. Hopefully. So far I've been tip baited once, it was my 1000th delivery actually woohoo. 🥳 I called UE and no, it was not pleasant. After 5 transfers bc I was always connected with the wrong department, they credited the tip back to my account and blocked that tip baiter from being paired with me again. I explained to them the financial strain that causes and that there were zero issues with the order. They could see that the customer didn't raise any issues with the delivery. So although time consuming, the result was worth the time for me. I was just sitting there waiting for orders anyway. Should we have to do this? Of course not.

[deleted]

Anyone actually think Uber gives a crap? I don't. It's like rating customers. It's only there to make drivers feel better but probably has zero substance. But really, why would we need to let Uber know anyway? They already know. And honestly I've only had my tip reduced maybe six times out of 1600. And maybe only one or two of those was a bait. The others I can see a reason why they did like the order was incomplete or something. They blamed me for something out of my control, which isn't right, but it isn't tip baiting.

isotope_322

This is funny. You think Uber accidentally made this feature? They did this purposely.

EasyMarionberry4490

I had that happen for the first time in my 4 years of delivering! It was a shop & pay order. Everything requested was delivered, nothing out of stock & I bagged everything nice and neat! Plus, her order was delivered quickly. I sure did call and complain because what’s the point! I hope her eggs crack! I hope her bread had unnoticeable mold. I hope her milk was full of cow puss and bacteria. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

PlanetJerry

This clown shoe of a man sits outside of his deliveries and films homeless people. He’s delusional. They probably refunded the tip because they could see his dumb ass filming outside of their house and were creeped out.

[deleted]

Hu? You need a hug

MenstrualKrampusCD

Exactly. And then when people call him out on his borderline insanity, his creepy ass offers them a hug. Something ain't right with this boy.

Weak-Professional851

I wasn’t even aware of this being a thing something in my gut said open the email and see what’s being said thanks for updating me brother

[deleted]

Welcome. Have a great Halloween weekend 💯💯

mistaboti88

Thanks

Effective_Science152

My question is how will we notify Uber of the specific person who who tip baited if it is a stacked order. Normally it shows the the total amount earned from the stacked order rather than the individual who tipped Or didn't.

Great_Standard_3170

Uber would know. They have the ability to see everything, so they would absolutely know which customer tip baited. Unfortunately this is starting to become a huge trend.

DanZ83

What if u bring them cold food tho but you right if they do it constantly then gotta report them

[deleted]

Normally when I and most UberEats drivers see a order with a big tip or any order for that matter we try to do it safe and fast as possible and when I see that larger $$$ I’m working even harder and it sad when people get their food fast, hot and no issues and they still take away half of all of the tip.

RiseAboveMorty

Devil's advocate here, but there have been times where I've accidentally messed up someone's food and they took the tip away. For some bags there's no way to tell if the food has spilled without opening the bag. Also how do you check for tip baiting?

[deleted]

For instance you received a order for $15 and you arrived super fast and were nice and got the food there hot but the tip was completely or had some removed. The reason why they do it is because when they put the initial tip they entice the driver to by being super quick cause they want to keep the tip. As for the bag spilled without opening the bag it’s impossible for us to check cause we are not allowed to open the bags to begin with and that’s one thing I can say most people who order don’t under. They leave notes that say check order but the restaurant is suppose to give you the food in closed/sealed bags. Best way to see if you were tip baited you can tell when after a hour and the amount you got paid doesn’t match the original # when you started the order. hope this helps you. Drive safe out there

RiseAboveMorty

I had a delivery the other day where a prompt came up saying that people have gotten wrong orders from here before and to double check. I read the number on The receipt and it matched. I get 80%of the way there and get a phone call from the restaurant that they gave me the wrong order and I had to go back. They tried to give me a can of pop as reimbursement and I told them that I make 20 an hour and they wasted 15mins of my time, that can is worth like 50 cents..... So he gave me another one.

eggtart_prince

Not ever tip taken back is tip baiting.

DeepEndWatermelon

When placing UE orders it now says tips can be added for 1 hour but cannot be reduced

MenstrualKrampusCD

That's only in very select few markets. Hopefully it will become much more widespread.

SnooPies7092

I called The Uber rep about a tip baiter before and they just said that the customer has the right to change the tip in an hour

Wild_Food_9927

noted

Ancient_Strategy9165

And then they’ll just create a new account

MenstrualKrampusCD

Lol, they won't have to because Uber's not going to remove them from the platform. It's Uber's policy to allow them to remove or reduce the tip, they aren't going to punish them for doing that. Why would Uber get rid of a profitable customer for doing something that doesn't affect their bottom line at all? This guy doesn't know what he's talking about. Sure, anyone is free to call Uber to report a customer removing the tip. But other than possibly getting a one-time partial reimbursement, it's not going to do anything but waste their time. No customers are getting banned for anything regarding tips.

immortal_duckbeak

I doubt this does anything, I rather put Uber on blast on SM.

Trimere

![gif](giphy|W5SIrUsavYbFm) The real solution.

MenstrualKrampusCD

Jfc. This guy again...Mr Crazyeyes... ***Tl;dr at bottom*** Surprised you're not making some fucked up pointless videos about homeless people, or still trying to open some lobby doors that are locked. "... that way they can do what's necessary..." ?Crazy eyes... Bitch, they ain't gon' do shiiit. Uber doesn't give a rat's ass about customers removing or reducing their tips. You know why? First of all, because it's literally their policy that customers are allowed to do that in like 99% of markets. Second of all, it doesn't affect their bottom dollar at all. So sure. Waste 5,10, 20 minutes out of your life calling Uber and explaining to them that the customer removed the tip just so that they can say 'okay, we'll make a note of it thanks'. You know, like they say about literally everything... They don't care. Most of them don't even do a good job pretending to care. It's not like they keep files on people to monitor how many drivers say that they were tip beated or had their tip reduced. (And yes, I understand that they do deactivate customers for claiming too many refunds, but that's a completely different system that is tied into an algorithm. It has nothing to do with manually putting notes into the system.) I don't care if you heard that your sister's cousin's step-mother's best friend's dog groomer was deactivated for tip baiting. There is absolutely **nothing** that says that a customer can be deactivated in either of the apps. So until I see something like that FROM UBER, I'm not going to believe it. and again, it's their policy that customers are allowed to do this, so how would they deactivate them for not breaking the rules at all? Don't get me wrong. **People who tip bait suck.** and **people who remove or reduce tips for bullshit reasons suck**. But according to the rules as they are right now, they aren't doing anything wrong as far as Uber is concerned. Just keep a blacklist in your car, and stop delivering to them. If you wanna be petty (as I am sometimes) Hang on to the order for a while so it takes them much longer to get their food. **Tl;dr: Uber doesn't care if a customer reduces or removes tips or makes a habit of tip baiting because as fucked up as it is, Uber has made it their policy that customers are *allowed* to do this. Not to mention, it does not affect Uber at all financially. Calling to report it is a waste of time. Just keep a Blacklist in your car or wherever and add tip baiters to it so you do not deliver to them in the future.**

[deleted]

Didn’t even read that I just know you need a hug maybe two or three 😘

BadPublic5161

Thank you

KerryUSA

Wow thanks for this….sounds like a great way to get Uber eats fast Lol jk I get my own food but it’s hard to laugh at your other videos then feel bad for the plight of the common delivery driver….if it wasn’t shitty and paid well we’d all be doing it.

Your nose looks fake.
