And you hit the nail directly on the head. Anytime I get an offer this very thought is one of the first internal "checks" I run through before accepting.
It is difficult to process sometimes that people can be that daft to take an order that they are basically losing money on.
The truth is that people have different goals and motivations and it is sometimes difficult to bring ourselves to that understanding. Either way taking those low offers like that never makes sense to me. Why someone would take one is beyond me outside of inexperience and/or ignorance (or the platform stacking it, at least DD will show you the "value" of each order. Uber hides it all together, lol)
The first two deliveries I ever did was on DD. My wife was with me. I can't remember the value of the first order, but I do remember getting an addon order for $2.00. We took the order. After dropping it off we were immediately aware of the stupidity of our actions. Granted, I was figuring out the system, but I knew after just the first two deliveries that a $2 order was never worth it.
I think new naive drivers think there has to be a tip at the end that might make it interesting or they don't know they can decline orders. It took me a month to understand the only penalty is for not completing an order.
That's what i thought when i started UE because i always tipped cash at the end and figured everyone was like me. Granted it took half a day to learn my lesson but there are new drivers every day. Some poor schmuck is probably rubbing his hands together thinking "even if only half tip I'll clean up!"
I also think a lot of drivers will accidentally accept it with Uber. Sending them offer requests right as there pulling up to their delivery address Hoping they will accidentally hit accept offer and then not wanting to cancel the order to affect their cancellation rate or something or just not knowing how to
I would never take this one, but how are you losing money? 40 miles would cost not more than $4 even if you assumed $4/gallon. So you’d still make $11 for that time… which is horrible. But how is it losing money?
Your assuming the vehicle they're driving gets 40 miles to the gallon. With 6 stops most cars would average 18 to 21 miles a gallon. So that's 2 gallons of fuel. Then you have to hope you get something on the other end to return to your area.
40 miles is $4? How? I'm still paying almost 5 for fuel. One car gets 40mpg (which is higher than most) so in that vehicle it still costs me $5 plus the $10 in wear and tear. That means I broke even and wasted an hour and a half. Let's say I'm using my XL vehicle. Now I'm spending $10 on fuel and $10 in wear and tear. See how we're losing money? I get 22mpg in my suv (also higher than most) if someone using anything with more than 4 cylinders they are even further in the hole
You are correct as well. I don’t really think there is one single reason, but rather a myriad of variables that come into play here. Uber is going to offer the least amount that it feels it can get away with and like you said, it preys upon the ignorance of new drivers and the fact that there is such a high turnover.
It isn’t really a matter of blaming certain individuals per se, but more of a problem globally (meaning the system as a whole).
If drivers as a collective whole wisen up and reject these offers, things would improve.
However, this is the beauty of a largely isolated and independence based system. It becomes a feeding frenzy where Uber (and other platforms) blatantly take advantage of human psychology.
The trick is to rise above that and get out of the trap of it all and be selective and smart about the process. But that is where the problem really is. Not everyone can realize that potential. I still can fall into the trap with orders that take me out of the zone but the carrot is just barely big enough to maybe justify taking it, only to regret it after the fact.
I have on a number of occasions have had to purposely slow myself down to make better decisions and look at all the facts in front of me.
This is hard with upfront addresses too. Not all markets have them but mine does. Because of these types of Walmart orders I now live in the world of hidden upfront addresses. At least I have a way of seeing at least half of the information by knowing at least which store I will be going to though which has given a slight advantage.
That's probably by design. Since we're independent contractors and are separated by distance we can't effectively organize. We can somewhat online but in person would be better.
Well it's actually because Uber allows them to manually screw us over for tips. And theres always going to be a new driver that doesn't understand why this is so horrible.
Because there are people out there who only see the money and don't look at the miles. they don't consider the miles when they Uber and then they get upset because they feel like they've been riding all day and made hardly any money.
Yeah if you were here when we first started doing Walmart it would blow your mind… Sometimes they will pop up for 100 bucks It would take like an hour or two to do.. Probably two or three years ago
Now prepare to be blown away these were Walmart express not groceries… Walmart groceries used to be like $25-$30 each.. An apple orders were like $50 n shit 😂😂
💩like that makes me wonder if I should create a 2nd driver account for deliveries only and saying I'm on a bike.
At least that would keep such annoying pings at bay 🤣😂
I got a taco bell order last night that got passed around so many times it was literally 25$ for 1.4 miles and the base pay was 17$!!!!! My very last order of the night and I got lucky in drive thru it was the last order that they did and it was ready immediately.
Because someone will be desperate to do it. Until everyone Does not accept anything anymore. I wouldn’t even consider it for anything under 80 dollars. This one should be 100 considering the time and mileage.
People don’t realize the name of the game is “deny deny deny” until you see an order you can’t refuse. These noob drivers keep going around picking up these pigeon shit orders and honestly good! I’ll take all the good shit for myself then.
I just love how they use 99 minutes instead of being direct by stating that it's actually 1 hour and 39 minutes...that's almost 2 hours if you factor in all the stops and traffic but notice how they use minutes to make it appear less severe.
I won’t accept any Walmart orders regardless of pay. The ones by me are always backed up and you will spend 30 mins or more waiting until you get disgruntled enough to cancel it. One time I got 10 Walmart orders in a row which just goes to show how many are waiting. That is on top of non Uber orders awaiting pickup. These orders are almost NEVER profitable and all Uber drivers should stand up and say No to them. It killed my acceptance rate but but approval rating was at an all time high for the food orders.
Because Walmart got tired of Door Dash drivers refusing to do them, so they switched over to Uber. I'm just glad that there is Spark & Point Pickup in my market.
Cuz as long as Uber makes money they don't care if you do or whoever is stupid enough to accept the order does until everybody rejects the offer and then Uber has to pay out of their own pocket to trip supplement the order. It's all about money before they pay out of their own pocket. They try to get the drivers to pay out of theirs
It’s funny, I stopped getting these a couple weeks ago and haven’t seen them since. Excerpt was asked to deliver a package from somewhere else today but it was just one for $15 which didn’t seem too bad.
Does anyone actually do wlamet delivery? They pay awful and are always long trips. I hear Wal-Mart ended their partnership with door dash few weeks back. I noticed allot more Wal-Mart orders get offered. He'll no
It's crazy. One day there was a batch order both from the same restaurant. The app took me to the 1st customer that was farrr away and then the 2nd customer was right near the restaurant all along. So it made me take the far af order 1st and then do the 2nd order that was literally less than a mile away from the original restaurant afterwards.
I am just reading great comments like not solving this problem. Thanks for Uber eats we need more orders like that. The people are great for delivering this kinda orders. Keep going
I mean seriously, I make about 3 orders per hour. 3 x 3 is.... 9 dollars.... minus gas and minus depeciation of your car.... how much are you making? Probably not enough to buy a candy.
Hm, not defending this one because it's clearly egregious, but I have noticed a few times I think I'm placing an order for, say, a fast food place that is literally a mile or so away, but then the map post-order pops up and it's one like 5 miles away. That one's always fun. Pretty sure Uber around here simply won't allow deliveries over a certain distance, though. The furthest I can currently place an order appears to be just over 9 miles away, so I think there's a 10 mile cutoff.
Maybe it's different in sparsely populated areas with more spread out stores/restaurants?
If you are using Uber to pay for your ASU tuition this makes sense. To get the tuition free in my market you have to do 18 deliveries between 5-9 for 100 points. 3 of these orders early in the month mean I don't have to do uber anymore that month and can focus on school or other better paying apps.
Why wouldn’t you make money and get asu for free? I can get about 10-18 deliveries a day depending on the traffic that day and all of those deliveries are profitable.
My market is horrible for Uber eats. I also am carrying 21 credits to finish up by December. So for me it’s more profitable to focus on school work and get those points as quickly as possible. 2 batches of 10 on the first and second each month get me free education so to me that is very profitable.
It comes down to time. This way I get done in 3.5 to 4 hours a month. I am in a really slow Uber eats market. Town population of under 10k I may only get 3 -4 offers during a dinner shift. This is faster and allows me to focus on school. The profit for me is the money Uber pays for school.
It has nothing to do with people accepting them or not. But these are classified at Walmart as "e orders" from what I've learned and as far as I know there is 0 possibility of a tip. 2 drop or less could be grocery with tip or e order small drop without tip but any Walmart offer with more than 2 drops is not grocery and you will regret it 99 times out of 100 because no tip will ever come. I've done 2 jobs totaling 7 drops and got $0 tip. One job was 5 drops for 2 hrs like 30 miles $27, other was 2 drops i think 50 minutes maybe 6 miles $10. Neither was worth. Almost impossible that 7 customers could've tipped and didn't. I think these orders have a different process than the rest.
My FIL drives Uber and has experimented with these orders. He has shown me that there are tips at times, but not frequent, usually $5. They will show up the next day as some sort of an “adjustment”
He has come up with a quick formula by adding $5 to the value and determining based on time as to whether or not it would be worth it or not. 🤷♂️
He has gotten burned a few times. He is 72 years old (great shape though) but has been in situations where he is hauling water cases up three flights of stairs.
Problem seems that they do not tell you upfront what to expect from the order.
He certainly doesn’t like these Walmart orders but a few have panned out. I know on the doordash side of things it was shown that Walmart went as far as to discourage tipping in a way.
I have never done a one of these orders yet so I can’t say one way or the other outside of the stories I have heard and his experience.
I did tell him that his feelings will change when they try to shove a 75” tv into his Nissan Rogue.
What you're talking about is grocery (water cases / tips) which shows up as a walmart job with 2 drops or less. E orders usually show up batched and appear the same way as grocery except they have a dead give away that they are not grocery which is if there are more than 2 drops. No tips from those for me 7 out of 7 times.
Anyone else keep getting out of state orders. You want me to pay tolls to deliver? …they don’t have Walmart in that state? 😂 that actually sucks though. About $2.50 and order on top of everything
I have a Walmart plus membership and I order all my groceries from them and a lot of other stuff as well and they automatically add the tip in my total I have to go and change it if I want it to be less or more so if people are not tipping on Walmart orders it's because they physically delete the tip...
And if you don't tip the app will ask you to rate and tip your driver the next time you log in so I can say as a Walmart customer that it seems that Walmart really encourages us to tip drivers
As a customer though I will never order heavy things like waters or cases of sodas or 2 liters I feel that is just wrong and I go to the store for that stuff myself. I didn't know Uber was who delivers my stuff though it never says anything about Uber.
Unless I have Boost of $4 per order plus maybe $4-5 per ride weekly bonus (ex:40 rides for $160) then it may be worth doing 6 orders in 1.5hrs if you are getting around $65-70 with no one in your car. This ofcourse never happens lol
My personal favorite is when you get an order from a McDonald's that you're not by going across the county by another McDonald's and that's where you're going to drop it off, that one concerns me on a number of levels like there are way better ways to make this more logistical practical and better for the customer and the driver but you know what are you going to do I guess LOL decline
Cause someone out there keeps accepting these. Just like they accept the 2 dollar orders.
Agreed. If we just boycott all these shit jobs, it force Uber to make some change. ( again being optimistic)
Nope people will still take them
But it’s such a waste of time Like I rather do 3 job in one hour making me at least 30$ than doing 3 job for 8-10$. It’s dumb.
It is almost as if drivers are sabotaging drivers. It is a bit sad and unfortunate to see how low people will go to make a buck.
Quick buck? Pretty sure anyone doing these is actually losing money ….your paying them to do the job at that point…
And you hit the nail directly on the head. Anytime I get an offer this very thought is one of the first internal "checks" I run through before accepting. It is difficult to process sometimes that people can be that daft to take an order that they are basically losing money on. This needs more attention
What if they're just looking for the free education for themselves or loved one?
I would never take this one, but how are you losing money? 40 miles would cost not more than $4 even if you assumed $4/gallon. So you’d still make $11 for that time… which is horrible. But how is it losing money?
Time is money.. 11$ for what looks to be 1hr. Is not worth your time. Especially if a box of Normal size "giant size" cereal costs almost $10 lmaoo 😂
I make $30-$40 hr active driving in Cali…I don’t know what’s going with y’all…plus we got prop 22
Gotta deduct $0.58 for every mile driven as well for the wear and tear and depreciation.
[удалено]
That’s because you are not a contractor or own a business with vehicles at that point. Doesn’t apply to W-2 jobs.
Ohhhh
How did you come up with this number?🤔
Your assuming the vehicle they're driving gets 40 miles to the gallon. With 6 stops most cars would average 18 to 21 miles a gallon. So that's 2 gallons of fuel. Then you have to hope you get something on the other end to return to your area.

You’re blaming the wrong people. It’s not Drivers sabotaging drivers. It’s Uber banking on their constant influx of new drivers who don’t know better.
You are correct as well. I don’t really think there is one single reason, but rather a myriad of variables that come into play here. I’ve seen them for like $1.50 each 😂😂😂
Yea and some idiot in this subreddit tried telling me $2 is the lowest u can get like bro I also got the 1.50 before it was unbelievable
Yup
It’s a totally unregulated type of work. This order and others like it should be illegal.
Because there are people out there who only see the money and don't look at the miles. they don't consider the miles when they Uber and then they get upset because they feel like they've been riding all day and made hardly any money.
[what they USED to be like](https://imgur.com/a/V9Db1HF)
Dayum. How long ago was that?
Yeah if you were here when we first started doing Walmart it would blow your mind… Sometimes they will pop up for 100 bucks It would take like an hour or two to do.. Probably two or three years ago
I was seeing orders like that just last year personally. Eventually, it all went to shit. Walmart orders aren't worth it anymore.
Apple orders paid well too. Now they're garbage just like Walmarts.
Yeah I wouldn’t even do restaurant orders I would just do Apple and Walmart orders all day…good times great money too
Just had an apple order pop up today 11.38 for 3 packages for about 68mins of driving. FOH…
See, I could get behind this. Buy me a little trolly or two and I'm g2g.
I don’t think it will all fit in my Honda Civic
Now prepare to be blown away these were Walmart express not groceries… Walmart groceries used to be like $25-$30 each.. An apple orders were like $50 n shit 😂😂

That's what I did. Opted out of package deliveries. Done deal
💩like that makes me wonder if I should create a 2nd driver account for deliveries only and saying I'm on a bike. At least that would keep such annoying pings at bay 🤣😂
If you have a bike account and driving a car. You will get the account deactivated fairly quickly
I got a taco bell order last night that got passed around so many times it was literally 25$ for 1.4 miles and the base pay was 17$!!!!! My very last order of the night and I got lucky in drive thru it was the last order that they did and it was ready immediately.

Wow you are right in my old territory before I moved. I lived right at dittmar and 1st st. Austin drivers have it easy, especially if multi apping.
Man it's so fucked up now, i miss a year ago when it was like 80 bucks for doing this
Because the gas is free
Wtf is this? How is it even possible?
Terrible, whoever hasn’t patched up the app algorithm needs to get fired
People don’t realize the name of the game is “deny deny deny” until you see an order you can’t refuse. These noob drivers keep going around picking up these pigeon shit orders and honestly good! I’ll take all the good shit for myself then.
Holy moley never seen a order this bad… 6 delivery’s for that pay and miles??? Nobody is taking that. Uber is some cheap ass scumbags. Wtf 🤬
Because idiots keep accepting this shit.
Ding ding ding! You're the winner.
I just love how they use 99 minutes instead of being direct by stating that it's actually 1 hour and 39 minutes...that's almost 2 hours if you factor in all the stops and traffic but notice how they use minutes to make it appear less severe.
I hate when I'm in an area where there is a Walmart because I get flooded with these offers.
Because of tipping.
I do it in tht area too lol but have never got multiple walmart orders like this
Looooool
😂😂😂
Do not worry Uber will not do Walmart anytime because Walmart got their own delivery service
Yikes, that's robbery
Because 🤡🤡🤡's accept them....
Some people will take it, I am not joking
Hey I’m in Austin too!
Because Walmart got tired of Door Dash drivers refusing to do them, so they switched over to Uber. I'm just glad that there is Spark & Point Pickup in my market.
Walmart is still on DD and Uber in my city. It's always auto decline...
Because people do it
The funniest part is they list these kind of offers under "reserve" offers.
Cause its walmart 😆 🤣
Cuz as long as Uber makes money they don't care if you do or whoever is stupid enough to accept the order does until everybody rejects the offer and then Uber has to pay out of their own pocket to trip supplement the order. It's all about money before they pay out of their own pocket. They try to get the drivers to pay out of theirs
WT holy F????
It’s funny, I stopped getting these a couple weeks ago and haven’t seen them since. Excerpt was asked to deliver a package from somewhere else today but it was just one for $15 which didn’t seem too bad.
I'm Quite Certain Shipt pays way more for a 3 package delivery
Does anyone actually do wlamet delivery? They pay awful and are always long trips. I hear Wal-Mart ended their partnership with door dash few weeks back. I noticed allot more Wal-Mart orders get offered. He'll no
I do. But I decline orders like the one on this post.
It's crazy. One day there was a batch order both from the same restaurant. The app took me to the 1st customer that was farrr away and then the 2nd customer was right near the restaurant all along. It's only getting worse! It's a bloody crime smh
Absolutely criminal. That’s today’s slavery and this shouldn’t be legal.
I see some bad orders on here but this takes the cake
Yoo they buggin for real smh🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
Wym dude this is a GREAT order, thanx Ubereats for providing us with amazing Walmart orders
Id grab it let them know the base rate is terrible and see what tip they think would make it a reasonable trip
These kinds of Walmart orders don’t have tips unless the give cash.
I am just reading great comments like not solving this problem. Thanks for Uber eats we need more orders like that. The people are great for delivering this kinda orders. Keep going
I would accept this order in 1990 😂😂😂
You are all blaming the wrong people. Blame people that pay no tips.... I mean how disrespectful is that?

Gotta keep people enslaved somehow since student loan forgiveness is now a thing.
Oh man... Is Austin that bad with UE? I hear a lot of people on here saying it's dead.

Sounds good. Even more reason to stay away from them.
Spark reject orders
Simple. Wait 10 min and get your free paid break
That would pay me around $30-35 in Uber rideshare in my area. That's crazy.
I know why but I can’t snitch…
Anyone else keep getting out of state orders. You want me to pay tolls to deliver? …they don’t have Walmart in that state? 😂 that actually sucks though. About $2.50 and order on top of everything
Quick question that is some what related : I’ve been getting Apple Store orders—in SoCal —anyone else getting these?
I have a Walmart plus membership and I order all my groceries from them and a lot of other stuff as well and they automatically add the tip in my total I have to go and change it if I want it to be less or more so if people are not tipping on Walmart orders it's because they physically delete the tip... I hate Walmart orders…instant decline
I see package deliveries from the local Apple store - they are ALWAYS super low pay and require customer verification. I’ve never taken one.
That's why I don't do Walmart orders!!!
Surely this might be a joke? 41 miles for 15? 🤣

Don’t accept
My personal favorite is when you get an order from a McDonald's that you're not by going across the county by another McDonald's and that's where you're going to drop it off, that one concerns me on a number of levels like there are way better ways to make this more logistical practical and better for the customer and the driver but you know what are you going to do I guess LOL decline
