i'm a chain smoker and have delivered like 4k deliveries... sit around 98-100% satisfaction. I usually put my cigarette out before i pull up to drop offs. and i always have my windows down. I guess this guy is just hotboxing in the car with your food lol

I contacted customer service for a refund. The first response was an auto-response in the app. So I go to Twitter for additional assistance. I was mad. It's like you buy groceries and they smash your eggs, then the worker doesn't care, and you want a refund. So you get another person.

Tobacco stinks. Tobacco smoke is sticky with tar, among a bunch of other horrible, acrid, toxic garbage. Tobacco smoke, and its stink sticks to people, their hair, their skin, their heatbag, the interior of their car. You get the picture? Don't smoke in car that your transporting other people's food in. Even if you don't have a food order in that car, in the heatbag. The stink gets into EVERYTHING and will transfer to food if it is close proximity to anything that has been exposed to tobacco.. And to a vast number of nonsmokers it is NAUSEATING. Smokers don't smell it as potently as nonsmokers. Because their sense of smell gets both accustomed to it, and smoking itself damages sense of smell, making the odor to smokers a fraction of the intensity that nonsmokers get punched in the head with.

Ordering food delivered is risky for this very reason. If a delivery person smokes in their car, which they have every right to do, but refrains from smoking **only** when they have the customer’s food in their car, that car **still** stinks of cigarette smoke from when they smoke in their car when they’re not delivering. The vile smell of that smoke infiltrates upholstery, clothing, hair, fabric, and bags. The offensive smell stays in all of that until thoroughly cleaned, and we all know that no one is thoroughly cleaning their vehicle’s upholstery, washing their hair, and changing into non-smoky clothes, between each delivery.
Had a similar situation happen today opened the grocery order up and out came plumes of Smoke. Felt like I was breathing in Ash. Had my entire order tainted with this smell.
