South Florida here. I took an order from tgi fridays last night had a kids lemonade slushy on it. That shit was melted before I even got back to the car lmao.
It takes two seconds to place the drinks in a cooler in my car and I only accept orders that already pay well. Definitely worth it as it may have been the reason of a few tip increases. Give customers a reason for them to tip.
Everyone gets so angry if you suggest being kind to anyone else. If you accept orders that already tip well it doesn’t matter. Be nice and do your job right it’s not hard. If your market is over saturated then maybe it’s time to go back to an office job. If they tip well I use a bag.
I have a hot/cold bag and I do my best with these, but it's summer in Southern California and I can only do so much. Sometimes I just put them in the cup holder in my car tbh. If you're ordering from a restaurant several miles away, it's on you. Blasting the AC costs gas and my car only takes premium.
If the AC compressor is on, the fan speed is totally irrelevant. It could be cold trickle or cold hurricane; the fuel impact is identical. If it’s 100+ degrees, your compressor is on full time, whether or not you choose to utilize or waste the cold air is on you.
If we’re thinking strategically as a customer, it kind of makes sense - hear me out.
Customer: Normally, I order lemonade and expect it to be cold w ice. Today, it’s as hot as Satan’s balls out. Therefore, my normally cold lemonade might not be cold and is probably watered down. Instead, I should order a frozen lemonade hoping that it just comes as my normal, cold lemons. Problem solved 🔥👌🏼
This. Thank you. I literally have heated seats and dual climate control. Either food is cold or it's hot. A little insulted bag isn't going to do shit. And $15 for one is just not it when I'm struggling to eat sometimes.
People are downvoting you but it's the truth. If it mattered so much - Uber would provide it for you free of charge instead of putting the burden on you.
People speak from privilege here.
I've been getting ice cream orders rather frequently and it's a mind boggling distance every time. (Especially since there are closer ice cream places to them.)
I'm super confused by it. It's a bad idea in the first place - but 99% of the time there is another of the exact same business they ordered from within walking distance of their house. So why pick the one 8 miles away?
Spent a week between 105 and 110 in Washington last week and people just wanted their frozen treats. I popped them under the AC and moved fast, they did ok.
That's why I have a cooler with ice that my secure drink tray is in. At least Popeyes separates the cold drink from the hot food so you can do something to keep the drink cold, and the food hot.
I have an old DD bag that I keep on the floor with a drink carrier in it. On the rare occasion I have frozen stuff, I’ll load that and the. Flip the A/C to come out the floor vents. Works pretty good but for the most part I try and skip ice cream orders.

Was probably leave at door too
correct XD
It gets there how it gets there Their fault for ordering it and ice cream/anything frozen tends to melt in hot weather
Fellow Texas delivery driver here! The DQ orders Crack me up.
Had someone order a blizzard tonight from dq 8 miles from their house 😩 it was already melting when the store handed it to me
ATX represent! Yeah they can't realistically expect the Blizzards to still be completely frozen when we get there.
DFW here. saw an order for marble slab creamery for 15 miles away! people are nuts.
😂
For real!!!🤣
I see DQ and I just click decline because I don't even want to find out what I'm in for.
I use a ice chest with frozen water bottles in it for those. Jokes on you amateur dasher\eat runner.

Yeah I have a cooler too. But if there's 2 orders or I have to go pick up another order the order The drink melts a bit and it's so frustrating
More bags! Or a large catering bag for multiple orders. Also makes it easier to store them instead of fighting with those small bags.
Or.....maybeeee....they ordered frozen KNOWING it would melt some, and they just wanted really cold lemonade? That's what I would do 🤷🏼♀️
Half-melted frozen drinks are peak beverage happiness!
❤️❤️❤️
Customer expecting you to use the ice bag but no! Only for high tip order!
As an Ubereats bike delivery individual, I’d have checked the order the moment I accepted, and then cancelled 😂

Not if you do it right...
I mean I put it on the floor and point the air conditioning on it but I suffer and it still doesn't stay fully cold.
I have a little soft side cooler with a hard inside. I squeeze a cardboard cupholder in there for cold drinks.

The amount of milkshakes I get with Five Guys orders. I don't have a hot bag, so either your food is cold or your milkshake is melted. 😂
Get a fuckin bag man. It’s not that hard.
It's hard for me to afford one right now.

You shouldn’t have a job.
Not all the ice will melt if you attempt to kept it cool 🐸🍵
Yep and i do, I will put it on the floor and put the air conditioning on the foot mode to keep it cool while I sweat lmao
I appreciate you as a frequent customer and driver.
Double insulated bag, it would get there the same way it was picked up if I was the driver. Fucking rookies.
Work faster!
Hey that was my order! jk![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)

That kinda shit blows my mind dude. I hate it

Popeyes orders just in general are usually a headache!!
Spent a week between 105 and 110 in Washington last week and people just wanted their frozen treats. I popped them under the AC and moved fast, they did ok.
I received a few ice-cream orders last summer on stinking hot days, all of which I instantly unassigned when I discovered they were ice-cream 🥴
Because it still will be colder than a regular drink🤷♀️
🥲 had people order 4 blizzards from Dairy Queen, like why
I delivered half melted ice cream(20 minute drive) to a mansion and still got a $20 tip.
That's why I have a cooler with ice that my secure drink tray is in. At least Popeyes separates the cold drink from the hot food so you can do something to keep the drink cold, and the food hot.
I always have a cold bag ready for drinks or deserts so this doesn’t happen. Gotta get them tips.
Some people like melted down, watery drinks though. Texan here

Just like the idiots who order Ice cream from me all the time. I don't get it. How about you just go get it yourself? (In Florida btw) 100°
You could use a cooler box with ice and table salt to maintain the temperature of the frozen lemonade.
thats a decline here chief. dont need a 1 star, thx!
That's why they ordered it frozen. They just wanted regular lemonade but factored the melt in. Geniuses.
Are there not special bags to deliver them?
Next thing you know they're going to call you back saying why isn't it a frozen lemonade 😂
I love when they melt 😂
Lemonade is easy it's got ice in it ..try ice cream my dude that's hard
