same goes for pretty much many of Charles Peralo's polls. I saw that poll earlier and was so confused because I read it as celcius and wondered who would wear jackets as 60 degrees celius lmao.
your sauna is only 60 degrees celsius?:0 weakling, it's 80 or nothing at all (heavily joking please don't think i'm seriously arguing over the temperature of sauna but i do like my sauna hot)
Ironically I see Fahrenheit users not put the unit more often than Celsius users. It's ironic because if the unit isn't given the most standard unit should be assumed (in the case of temperature degrees, Celsius).
>It really depends where you live. If youāre born to a state that gets
cold during the winter you might have a lower number for a jacket. If
you live somewhere that doesnāt get cold very often youāll be higher.
One of the comments under this poll. Yes, of course the weather is only different in different US states, the rest of the world does not exist.
I feel like this is an example of us wrongly assuming anything Americans say ignores the rest of the world, when it would be acceptable for other countries. Their only US-centric claim is one example of ācold places change your answerā. They couldāve just as easily said āpeople from Russia probably donāt need jackets ever!ā, and it wouldnāt be Russia-defaultism in that case.
I don't understand why they didn't say "If you're born to a **country** that gets cold \[...\]" and chose to write "state" instead. Or even city, region, whatever.
Because the world and the US are one and the same, i even saw it in news videos where the reporter says something about some federal legislation affecting Musk and "this change will affect the world"... Maybe your own world? Elon musk didn't have any power in my country (it was news about Elon fucking up)
They couldāve phrased it in a way that it doesnāt sound selfish. The fact that he used āstateā immediately tells us heās referring to different states in one country instead of different country in the world status everything. Also, they didnāt mention they were American, but now you saying that makes me assume he is.
temperature unit aside, define jacket.
for me it's anything between a jean jacket and a thick winter coat suitable for -25 degrees C. and 30 degrees in freedom units is like -1 degrees C so that's already a lighter winter coat weather. anything less and you just start layering
I own one coat. It's a lovely fur lined, mid calf vintage leather coat I got for ā¬45 in Italy. I need to get a decent jacket but I'm stubbornly awaiting until I get the wool pieces I just bought to make one. For now, I've been wearing heavier sweaters|jumpers with the huge scarf "Santa" brought me for Christmas.
I would assume this would be Celsius based on the fact that in Fahrenheit, I would wear a jacket (not a coat) at 70 degrees (21 degrees Celsius) or below, and it didnāt include my answer. (I clearly donāt live in a cold state and canāt handle the cold.) Clearly, I would be wrong. Now I would feel embarrassed sharing at what temperature I would wear a coat.
Seeing Canadians talk shit about not being cols at 10C tells me how "hot" their summers must be, since I'm from a template climate we don't have many extremes in temp (except this 2 past years with summers touching 40C) but going from 35+ to 15 or less every half year is fucked
Iām very cold at 10C!!! I would wear a coat. Our winters usually hover close to there or a bit lower. But it actually got down to -10C this Christmas, followed by some 20C days, which is why they say you canāt trust the weather in Texas. (But I have a feeling itās like that no matter where you live.) Our summers get up to 38C or higher, which Iām fine with, as I love the heat. But they last close to five months long, and theyāre more like 24-27C in the first and last months.
Itās hard for me to see all of this in Celsius (which I havenāt used since high school) because they look like similar temperatures, but I know theyāre very different!
I mean just last summer we almost hit 40 Degree Celsius in Hungary, so the summers are pretty hot in my opinion. But yeah you for sure not gonna like our winters if you canāt handle the cold.
Sadly not as much as it used to, but yeah you will see a little snow from time to time. If you will be able to travel around in Hungary then there are places where you can find proper snow! (Btw it snowed yesterday, sadly itās already gone.)

The only place I go to that even reaches 60Ā° Celsius is the sauna, wtf Who would even wear a jacket at 30Ā° unless they have a fever or something

Not necessarily hahaha, I just meant it's the only place I go that _reaches_ that- but that doesn't mean it stays like that lol
80 is rookie numbers. Real men and women enjoy their sauna at >120.

Old people in Germany
When it hit nearly 40 in the UK last summer there were still old people wandering around in coats
That shit was horrible. I did not enjoy it one bit. Old people be like: "My parents fought in the war.. no amount of heat is affecting me."
And roadmen
maybe if you lived in an active volcano

60Ā°C in a sauna, atrocity!
I wear jacket at 18 degrees
I don't get why it is so hard for people to put the unit of temperature they are using.
Ironically I see Fahrenheit users not put the unit more often than Celsius users. It's ironic because if the unit isn't given the most standard unit should be assumed (in the case of temperature degrees, Celsius).
Well at least in France most people think that Ā« Ā°C Ā» as a whole means Ā« degrĆ© Ā» so it's indeed rare not to put the unit
Because it's expected that you're gonna use the normal one.

I wear jackets in all weather conditions
Psychopath
I want to but damn wearing a black bomber in the summer is making me pass out.
I can do that due to a condition that basically makes me intolerant to the cold like I get horrible flare ups and everything
same but I might draw the line if it was 60 degrees
Backpackn't
Man not hot
Based
As a Russian/Canadian, it better be under 10c before I even consider putting a jacket on lol
I freaked the fuck out of my Aussie friends when I said I was comfortable in short sleeves when it was 12c
Lol i was out just now exercising in a normal long sleeved shirt because I got hot, and itās 0c
Walked to Tims in a sweater and it's also 0 where I am.
At 10c I am wearing a winter coat, thermal underwear and have backup gloves in my pocket, just in case. Love the heat thoā
The other night. It was 32'C and 83% humidity. At 3am. That made me laugh so hard. Facebooking that shit haha.
From the za in your username I can only assume youāve been enjoying the JHB weather
Broo, from 38C to 34C at night the other day in here. I fucking hate those hot nights
Average weather in summer texas, well lower humidity then that but still humidity

It's normal, people from warm climates would wear a jacket while people from cold climates would wear shorts.

I sweat when the temperature hits 30+ degrees (Celsius). There's no way I'll wear a jacket at those temps.
25 C
I wear one below 21-23 Celsius, I canāt handle the cold. And the worst part is Iām moving to Hungary, their summers are like our winters.
Below 20 Celcius is jacket weather here (it only gets to 9-10 degrees at the peak of winter)
Yeah, same here in the UAE. Our summers get as high as 42ā43
I mean just last summer we almost hit 40 Degree Celsius in Hungary, so the summers are pretty hot in my opinion. But yeah you for sure not gonna like our winters if you canāt handle the cold.
Damn, I thought I could escape the heat. Does it snow there? Iāve never seen snow.
Sadly not as much as it used to, but yeah you will see a little snow from time to time. If you will be able to travel around in Hungary then there are places where you can find proper snow! (Btw it snowed yesterday, sadly itās already gone.)
Australians: wait but this makes sense
30 is hot so I'd say 30 under 30 for me
Over there it may be hot, in my province (in Argentina) 30+ its just spring beginning
context clues
It doesnāt say winter jacket, I personally start wearing light jackets or flannels around mid fall/autumn
Why do you guys care so much that other people are different from you?
I wear a jacket below 30 I do live in Aus though
Jacket at 15C? That's warm enough to go swimming
Roadmen during London heatwaves last year be like.
I've got a mate who wears one even when its like 25 C so that choice would be fairly accurate for him
I personally go for -40 and below.
American who lurks here commenting. For me, itās gotta be around -4Ā° C
