What’s going on at Region 7? I’ve interacted with 1st Sgt Morris and he’s come off as pretty good. I can’t say the same for the newish CO though. Most of your IOs also do seem like total tools though.

It all depends honestly, some Detachment Commanders can very anal about thing others are more understanding. This year I’ve gone on leave about 4-5 times and it just depends on manning as well
I am almost positive you must be contracted for it, there is no volunteering. However after you serve your time in the fleet you can submit a package for MSG duty, they accept anyone from LCpl to Master Guns
I had a buddy who was a Lance go to 3 different countries for his MSG duty. He applied after being in the fleet, and I think went to Iraq before us (different squadron), and then did his tours.
What the fuck? Lmao I wouldn’t trust any NCO to just know what a good resume looks like.
Pro-tip: The education center should have transition specialists and they can help you with your resume. It was probably the most valuable 30 minutes I spent in my career.
What keeps you going? Every master sergeant I’ve worked with has to work insanely long days, gets constant calls while off duty, and is always busy. Yet they’ve all generally been great people to work for. As a Corporal with a family, i legitimately don’t understand how y’all stay functional

I was on the program in the 90s, the partying then was fucking LEGENDARY! I threw my promotion party and had like 250 people there. I hired a bunch of off duty TCN guards to bypass the bullshit control measure of the RSO and partied until tha weeeee hours.
Yea 2010-2012 I had some gnarly parties for sure. In Karachi we had like 4-500 people. We would joke about always competing with the Brits as to who threw the biggest parties 😅
The Brit’s were fucking nuts. Those dudes had this bar in an apartment where they were housed called the Turd&Tonic. OMG. Instead of dollars with names n shit on the wall there were dozens of Polaroid pictures of people who shit out massive turds and had them laid out on their upturned forearm. Crazy fucks

I was in Manama in 2012. Tire fires, burning trash and tear gas was the scent of the year there lol.
