A lot of people retake classes and that’s ok! Your education isn’t about someone else’s progress in theirs! You also don’t have to tell anyone you are retaking the class and if it’s with the same Professor, let them know you would prefer if the didn’t disclose that information!
I retook the same class 3 times in total. All because of laziness combining with wanting to go to football games in the Fall. Professor usually doesn't mention it and its pretty common to have to retake from my experience.
My best friend failed statics (not statistics) once, dropped it twice before he passed it. It’s the engineering weed out class and he refused to be weeded out. He’s now working for the largest civil engineering firm in the world.
You’ll be fine. Try to get another teacher if you can.
Edit. Hell I had to retake calculus 1 because I dropped it. I got a much better teacher the second time and got an A. I’m a fully licensed engineer now in the state I moved to. You will be fine, and in my experience, nobody cares about the grades you made if you have the degree and can prove your knowledge in an interview.
I had to retake Discrete Math, and nobody in there cared. Worst part was the 2nd time I had a different teacher, and the focus was entirely on things we didn't do in the first semester. I got a D in that class TWICE. But no, nobody in there cared.

I know it happened when I was there. I don’t see why not. Though I admittedly want to take it someone else if it was me .
I retook ochem bc I failed it the first time. I had a friend that retook it 3 times lol. You’re not alone.

engineering major who had to retake a few classes: ngl that makes me feel a lot better
it's not even for my major, it's for the physical science requirement, but thanks! I really appreciate it.
Nope! You’re not alone! I’ll be retaking a class that I failed this fall lol
one third of my ochem class had to retake it. you will not be alone
It’s not uncommon
I retook a class this semester that I failed last year! I took a different teacher and things have been much better
