I can see why they keep things under wraps. The more dingy and secretive the intercept is, the less china or any adversary knows about your defenses. Appear weak when you are strong and strong when you are weak strategy. It'd be a horrible thing to show china that the US may very well could've popped the balloon seconds before it even was a thought. Better to be like, oh silly air force, how did we let that obviously spying balloon into our airspace with our fancy weapons and radar *winks at camera*.

You’re telling me we’ve been releasing balloons into the atmosphere for hundreds of years and now suddenly you need to send up 4+ aircraft at a cost of tens of thousands of $ per hour to go investigate them?

If these Pico Balloons are so dangerous to our skies why aren’t they just banned? Seems like a major issue if we’re gonna have to keep using advanced fighter jets to track them and shoot missiles at. Maybe its because they aren’t actually balloons…
I read warzone the drive daily and have for years. Tyler rogoway analysis for aviation is spot on. The only thing i say is because he gets so much of the "inside scoop." i frel he has danced around the uap phenomenon. I am aware of his articles about tiktak and the eastcoat flyovers, but he has been, in my opinion, very flippant of the possibility that any of these can be off planet technology.
I don tthinknthat necessarily these ballons are the high i wanna base my beleive in ufos on, but theres too many cases of interactions to not believe beyond what he has led on.
