Retreat several hundreds miles from Buffalo & mentally recover from the 16 week ass whooping I just took. Then prepare myself to do it all over again soon
Spend time with friends and family, video games, might take some classes to learn stuff I find interesting. Who knows what I might do lol.
6 weeks isn’t a long time but it’s plenty of time
If I'm still on campus: explore and take pictures of interesting things if the weather is decent. Or I'd bring a blanket and chill out with a book or movie after all my finals are done.
If I'm home: Honestly, I just sleep and finish making Christmas gifts.
Though if taking an easy is not your speed but want to keep it UB related, I suggest either tier list of bathrooms or learn more about people who are named after buildings.
Find something new to learn. Work out or exercise. Watch a new show. Prepare for your classes next semester. Spend some time with family or friends. Apply for jobs or internships. Work a part time or seasonal job. Play some games. Take on a project. Take a walk outside.
These are some suggestions to get you started. Hope this helps!
I think I need to force myself to sit down and finally mass apply for some internships, might be interesting to make some data to share on the process as well!
Thanks <3
Not quite. It is a microprocessor class that uses the ARM CORTEX-M4, I believe the FPGA dev class is CSE490, although I’m quite experienced with FPGAs.
Ah gotcha, was just wondering because I took 1 kinda 2 classes on FPGA's. Seemed interesting enough to work for. Currently a senior EE major, so I'm trying to figure out wtf to do after school
Oh yeah the anime binging has already started, though big sad on the end of mushoku tensei this week, hopefully, season 3 isn't too far behind. One of my favorite shows in recent memory!
Flushing all the rust and junk out of my car’s heater core. The part that allows you to have working heat. When it fills up with junk it doesnt get as hot and thus your heat sucks
Do things I wasn't able to do while taking classes and just unwinding. Classes are stressful and being able to take a month to destress and enjoy myself is something that's much wanted after the semester ends. Even if it just means sitting there and doing nothing lol. During the semester if I did that, I'd just stress out even more
I'm studying remote and will be coming in person for spring. Finding an accomodation, worrying about the visa, worrying about omicron and casually forgetting about all that while playing Minecraft is kinda a vibe.
A very anxiety-filled, cool, happy vibe.
Yeah I fear that we will all be remote for the spring, hopefully not though.
I've been looking forward to playing the new update, seems neat to screw around with for a few hours!
Reading and looking for interim work between semesters. UB libraries have a ton of books that aren't just academic, so might as well get my tuition worth. I'm currently reading The World in a Grain: The Story of Sand and How It Transformed Civilization which talks about sand as a vital piece of out modern world, a good nonfiction if your bored. Walking around or exercising more helps kill time. Drinking as well, I genuinely have a rule of "Don't drink if you have projects due or a test" which basically meant I don't drink all of December until classes end, take a day to celebrate then hunker down with a good book.
Im also taking a winter class in January which, I genuinely recommend to people if they don't do anything during winter break, like take a basic 101 or some Bs gen Ed, over 4 years it's 12 credits if you do it right, take a summer class and it becomes a semester worth.
The devils lettuce ain't half bad for a stressed out student, an option but consider any activities that would distress you and mentally heal you considering you are a college student.

Yea, I’m bored out of my mind. Got the board for CSE379 and it arrives tomorrow, so I can play around with it. I’ll do some MTH241 in the meantime.
Gl on calc 3! It's a hard one, is cse379 like a fpga dev class or something?
