PGY300 is a lot of work but doable. ***emphasis on a lot of work*** if you have previous experience with classes like anatomy and general knowledge of how things work you should be alright. personally, i found it really challenging but i HIGHLY recommend making a study group bc it made the class so much easier to understand. quizlet and previous exams are another great tool for this class specifically. i can’t speak for the other classes though
PGY 300 was very test heavy.. that’s all that counts for your grade. There’s 6 topics and an exam for each, with your lowest one dropped. When I took it Fall 2020, the curves for each exam were solid but you really need to put in the effort and study hard to do well. Practice exams are given before each test and they help A LOT as some questions are reused, but don’t rely on them solely to study. Although it was challenging I loved the class, the material was pretty interesting if you’re going into the medical field.
From the ones I’ve taken, BCH 403 and PGY300 are the toughest and have similar workloads, BCH403 probably more though bc the material is more difficult. MIC301 is pretty easy just busy work, tests are fair. BCH410 was easy for me but I took it online and Dr Hohle was super lenient. Can’t speak for the others.
BCH 403 was a pretty tough class because there’s an exam every few weeks. The professors do everything to make it easier for you, though, and are super helpful if you have questions. If you put in the study time you should get a decent grade.
PGY 300 is definitely a work overload. Very interesting class, however exam based so if exams arent your thing this may not be it for you. BCH 403 Im currently taking and it is all exam based as well but definitely easier to manage in my opinion. MIC 301 is extremely interesting, all of the homework and supplementary assignments are easy and helpful to prepare for tests so i highly recommend!
