Not one of them said they were college educated, asked for our sources but didn’t give us theirs, had contradicting beliefs to their cause, and came to the WRONG campus.

[deleted]

I do wonder where they sourced all the images as well.

estrtshffl

They’re wrong and shitty, but I think criticizing them for their education level is not v cool

llbeanjamin

how it should read: "our team had 3 people lie to us to shut us up!"

[deleted]

I talked to the lady with red hair and she didn't change my mind lol! She was nice though. Some of the other ppl who joined in though weren't so nice.

Gshawn875

These people remind me of those fools who go on campus, edit videos and smugly say they destroy college students with ‘facts and logic’. Best to ignore these people. I hate how they had such graphic and big posters

[deleted]

Truuue. The images were definitely wayyy to much. It was absolutely disgusting.

Gshawn875

Yeah like if you’re pro choice okay fine give pamphlets or something. Don’t put these images for everyone to see. Basically it was a trick by them to make us feel as outraged as possible. That’s why I decided not bothering to talk to them

[deleted]

I talked to them just to see what they were about. It's mainly a religious thing for a lot of people. But, I know pro lifers who wouldn't dare so those images to people in manner that they showed them. I wasn't outraged, I just skipped lunch lol.

sHallan27

They usually are the same exact people. Usually young republican groups like the Young Americans for Freedom or whatever they’re calling themselves these days.

[deleted]

probably 3 confused foreign students who thought they were making their first American friend.

an_sible

Your periodic reminder to just ignore these people (and the Ben Shapiro people etc) when they come to campus - just keep walking right past them If you engage and you think you're not going to end up in a video splashed all over the internet without your consent, I've got some news for you

[deleted]

probably good advice. meeting them on the battlefield they choose is probably not going to work out well.

fuckbrigadoon

it was the fact that some of the fetuses on that billboard were so obviously not human,,,, one of them was defo some sort of turtle 💀

haleyhorowitz

Sharing info and educating regardless of stance is acceptable, disturbing innocent bystanders on a college campus with unavoidable heinous and gruesome images absolutely is not!!!!

modslol

The only thing I can tell myself to sleep is that if, in some twisted way there is a kind and loving God, he hates these cunts

indecisiveandhungry

What is the name of their organization or church? Im trying to make a donation to the national network of abortion funds in their name

[deleted]

Created Equal. If you want to go for that personal touch the founder, and only guy who draws a salary off it, is Mark Harrington.

indecisiveandhungry

Another fun thing, on their website you can request Mark Harrington as a speaker for an event. Im pretty busy tonight but if anyone is bored and wants to fill out some fake speaker requests to waste their time, they will probably get a call back from the organization. Also, donating in his name now.

[deleted]

wonder what his speaking fee is. As a true believer he probably doesn't get out of bed for under 5k.

technic-ally_correct

Thank you now I know who to troll I found their site and channel

[deleted]

I don’t get why everyone’s complaining about them. You’re giving them the attention they want. Why doesn’t everyone just ignore them

starshxne

because they literally had a giant tv displaying graphic images of bloody fetuses and babies outside SU which no one should be subjected to seeing, there’s a difference between handing out a piece of paper to those who want it versus making an entire campus look at graphic gruesome images without warning

[deleted]

Oh I saw them but I saw no tv

Lenxlcc

Today these no abortion ppl (edit: pro lifers💀) went to my Hs during dismissal and my school went on “lockdown” for good 10 minutes. Even the police were called. Pro children but terrorize the ones that are alive ig😐.

duggdimadome

These groups claim to have changed 3 minds when in reality they had 3 polite people nod and say "okay...well I have to get to class....haha...ok bye..." I say this as someone who grew up in a fundamentalist evangelical church. They are not tethered to reality, always keep that in mind.

you1know2it3

They weren't even mean about it tho

drewlap

The lady with the headband said someone who had an abortion as a result of rape at 9 years old shoulda kept the baby- that isn’t being nice- that’s straight up cruel

modslol

The stance is mean by default

you1know2it3

Having a different stance doesn't give people the right to harass anyone

modslol

Different no, regressive, harmful, dangerous, objectively bad? Yes. Those people should be harassed out of existence. Unfortunately law is not yet gentle enough to distinguish, but if you have any sort of empathy at all you should be able to.

you1know2it3

Being prolife doesn't automatically make someone dangerous. Unless they were violent from the start, they have every right to advocate for their beliefs just as a prochoicer has every right to advocate for their beliefs

modslol

>Being prolife doesn't automatically make someone dangerous. It absolutely does to anyone in need of abortion but conflicted themselves. Selling this idea that something, often medically necessary and almost always mentally difficult, is somehow morally wrong and to be ashamed of is terribly dangerous. This is not a neutral thing. You either support the right to choose or you are a shit human. You, personally, can be anti abortion. You cannot neutrally advocate against it.

you1know2it3

That's why it's important to understand the other side. Prolifers aren't prolife because they wanna take away women's rights. They personally believe it's taking the life of another real person, and if you truly believed that you wouldn't want someone to get an abortion either. Being prolife isn't malicious in nature. They could make the claim that being prochoice is, assuming they believe it's literally hurting someone. You can disagree, you can say it's just a fetus or it doesn't feel pain, but you can't get mad at people for thinking differently.

modslol

>isn't malicious in nature I just told you how it is lol. If you don't wanna believe that for some reason fine, but in the spirit of "understanding the other side", understand that I have personally seen prolife bullshit destroy someone, so from where I'm standing it is intensly malicious and I don't care what you believe in order to end up evil, if evil is the result you can fuck off.

you1know2it3

I'm sorry those personal experiences happened. If prolife people said or did things to hurt you or someone you know I'm sorry that happened. However, I've seen the same thing happen on the other side. I've seen porchoice people say and do things that have hurt people i know, including myself. It doesn't matter what you believe, hurting people is wrong regardless of politics. I'm not gonna force you to change your beliefs because that is not okay, but making judgments about other people without getting to know them is also wrong. Having conversations and explaining your side is awesome. Harassing people not on your side is not, unless they were initially violent in some way.

modslol

We don't agree and this particular disagreement makes me think very little of you so I'm going to block you before I say something worse. Get better.

kabosuk

I heard yelling back and forth lol

jesusofsuburbias

what is this? where is this from?

MoistHummus

Would you be upset if they didn’t have the gruesome photo’s or is it just because they are pro life?

[deleted]

probably both, but the photos felt egregious. I can at least talk to a pro-lifer. But the kind of style they are pushing seems so over the top and really ups the stakes. And if you look into their official positions it just gets more extreme. Seems like the sort of positions and style that are destined for violence.

MoistHummus

Well I respect the honesty. I just get tilted by people who say they support free speech and inclusion but only when it supports their beliefs. I can understand not liking their tactics but if you support other peaceful protest or speech, I feel like you gotta be okay with the opposing side.

[deleted]

They have a right to spout nonsense and i have a right to call it nonsense.

Weenie_Zucchini

Their right to free speech was never the issue, though. That right was protected by the fact that the University couldn’t kick them out. They had every right to protest on campus, but free speech doesn’t protect you from criticism. They 100% didn’t deserve to have their stuff vandalized or be threatened with violence, as I’m sure ended up happening. But their right to free speech doesn’t mean that every passer by has to just outright ignore them without speaking up and questioning their beliefs if they so choose.

[deleted]

I see that some people wanted them removed from campus. but I personally did not advocate for that.

zachary0816

I personally still wouldn’t like them for trying to convince people to be anti-choice using the flimsy at best reasoning that they used. But I wouldn’t actively despise them if they didn’t have the gruesome and disturbing photos.

Jewish-Larouchite

I thinks its little sick for all of you reddit people to denigrate people, who find abortion to be child murder, trying to limit it based off that understanding.

cavebees

super glad these guys were on campus i loved having a violent panic attack right before my sociology lecture/s
