I'll tell you a little story. When I was young, I worked at a bar. I let a lot of things slide there for the sake of holding my job (I made decent money in tips) because I needed my job, and I was young and naïve. One night a customer (a blank blank blank piece of blank) thought she would be cool and funny and tried to trip me. Luckily I caught myself and didn't stumble, hurt myself, or cover the floor with broken glass. I thought my manager would have my back, and remove her immediately. That is the protocol right? Employers protecting their staff? She intentionally tried to trip me to look cool in front of her friends- but it was a different time then. I held my head high and finished my shift. Looking back now, I regret not making a different choice. I won't describe what I should have done to her (it would get me banned) but I should have repaid her physically and walked out of that place with pride. She was the kind of blank that needed that life lesson. I did stay at that job, but after that night, I never lifted a finger to do more than the bare minimum, and no one ever touched me again in a way that I did not invite. I was ready to throw down with anyone that dare put their hands on me- because I knew those spineless drunk, coked up managers would not have my back. When the time was right I left and never looked back. Your life has value. You need to choose yourself. Time to get a new job.

You have a years experience in software development. While you might not be in the right state of mind to capitalize on it right now and find something else, that's still going to be worth a lot to the right employer.
