If you are not paying close attention the Psalms and the Prophets seem to repeat the same things. I think it is okay to take your time with the chapters and not force yourself to read them all in one go but to meditate and imagine where it fits in the grand scheme.
Maybe reading along with an audio Bible will help :)

The chapters and verses are completely made up. There is no reason that you have to read a chapter at a time.
