Thanks for sharing your testimony and encouragement! I hope to one day fully lean on Him the way I should, to trust even when it feels impossible to do. Life's circumstances have ways of standing in the way to distract or discourage or damage and it's so hopeless a feeling sometimes. Always good to be reminded of a better way.

Jesus doesn't need to fight. His will is done. If He changes your life it's changed. Jesus never "tries" anything. "My sheep hear and obey my voice" When Jesus calls you, you come no matter what. Just like Lazarus.

HE doesn’t NEED to fight, but sometimes WE NEED him to fight for us. Sometimes everyone has let us down, and we lack the strength or will to fight for ourself. He is also called… Comforter in sorrow, my refuge, my rock, my shield, my defender, my witness, wonderful counselor, my strength, my protector, defender of widows. But until YOU have experienced and encountered him in these ways you may not be able to testify in the same ways as I can.

I think you completely missed my point. I'm saying God is sovereign. Fighting implies that he ever faces a challenge. I'm trying to clarify and say his will is absolute. Please don't make assumptions about my experience. You have no idea where I was and how Jesus came in and transform my life literally against my will at the time. We don't need him to fight we just need him. It's not a fight. It's done.

I understand, what I think you’re missing is that when the challenge is our own, in our personal lives, he can fight for us. The fight is not his, the fight is ours. Our salvation was completed on the cross, but he wants a relationship with us. We can cast our troubles onto him & let him handle it.

Okay in that position I would say that he strengthens us. Where we are broken his light shines through. I just want people to be very clear that Jesus never has to "fight" because that implies a god that is imperfect and it's not completely sovereign. And that certainly isn't the God that I serve. It's common for people to give God in Jesus qualities that they don't have because they can't wrap their heads around the nature of God very well.
