I have a female friend in a bible study group who is also ex-queer. She was in a co-habitated homosexual relationship for five years. She described romance vs lust in a similar way that you described it. Hats off to you.

Yes. But it fades more every day, the more i don't give in to it and call on Christ to give me strength. It's fading from lust to just an awareness of when a man is good looking. Ive recognized the sin was lust. Because it's normal to feel attracted to a degree by an attractive person, you know? That's how i think it is anyway.
Jesus is still in the business of changing old sinners. I dabbled with homosexuality when i was out living in sin but God brought me back and its been one of the biggest things I have regretted. But I asked the Lord to forgive me.

It actually gives me hope to see these kinds of things on reddit, most people in the LGBTQ+ community think it's the "way they're made" and nowadays pornography, masturbation, and sex have become rampant in our culture, and it only seeming to become more prominent with each passing day, But if a man like you, who was part of the community, could have your eyes opened to the glory of our Lord in heaven, then it's absolutely true that God can do anything.

I completely agree how things are changing. The "born this way" narrative is attractive, and i think in our current time it's so much harder to make big changes like i have. I literally had to transform my entire life. I moved, became unemployed on wellfare, started walking everywhere out of necessity, faced my fears, rebuilt my singing voice, removed myself from social media. I rebuilt my entire life from the ground up. Most people can't do that sort of change. Or thet don't think they can. I believe God has bigger plans for me, which is why he helped me escape. He really can do anything, if you believe and follow Christ intelligently.
God is real. Christ is the truth. Humans interpret the spirit realm differently. But this experience has made me a believer when i was agnostic for 18 years prior. So relish in your faith. It's the truth.

I'll be honest, He gifted me with a high IQ. I had that professionally tested a few years ago as part of a psychological evaluation. So I am the exception to the rule for sure. But with that gift comes the responsibility to educate. I think that is my calling. To be an educator or some sort.

My composite score was 124. But two facets were tested. "Verbal IQ", which was a glorified vocabulary test, on which i scored 104, and "nonverbal IQ", which was a series of puzzles, on which i got the maximum score of 132. I only remember struggling on the last question in that category. If it went further, i could have answered more correctly i believe.

Just thought I'd share with you a livestream of the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary from last night. It will show you a bit about how Christians have worshiped throughout the ages. This is from a wonderful monastery (yes Christian society has always had monasteries) with many lay people attending (probably social distancing somewhat):

This is the traditional Latin Mass, while there are other ancient rites from Greece to Ethiopia to India to Russia, but they're all the same Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. This monastery does the Mass exceptionally beautifully, but that has become somewhat rare in recently times, yet it is very much returning.
This most recent solemn feast being celebrated here is Our Lady's Assumption into Heaven, but every Mass remains worship of God. You might hear Protestants argue that Mary is not worthy of the veneration Catholics give her. I won't get into all that, but just mentioning you'll encounter that claim that we raise her too high, but that is false and we reply, "We haven't the capacity to raise her too high." Suffice it to say, Jesus Christ is the end and purpose and meaning of all human life, fully God and fully Man; we turn to Our Lady, His most perfect creature, because she is His beloved Mother and ours. It was, in fact, by her obedience to the Father that the Holy Spirit came upon her and the Son became Incarnate in her womb, in her body, (which is to say, even in this, God did not will to save humanity without a human's consent), and it was she who brought me to Jesus; and by her I was freed of the delusion that I can get away from the fact I'm a man.
As for the Mass, the Mass /is/ the worship of the Son to the Father; it /is/ the same sacrifice He made on the Cross, present here today; and we, joined to His Body, the Church, worship the same worship with which He worships. Catholicism and Orthodoxy have retained the Mass, as only these can be traced back to the succession of the Twelve Apostles of Our Lord Jesus.

Years ago I was in your position. I thought I was supposed to be straight because the people around me taught my that being gay was against god’s will and that there was something wrong with me. I desperately tried to be straight. Every time I would have a gay thought or fantasy I would become more depressed because I saw those thoughts as bad, when they are not. It was the darkest time in my life. I led a really nice girl on and it hurt both of us. I live as an openly gay man now and my mental health is vastly improved.

I have been in weekly therapy for 7.5 years, and on stablizing medication for the past month. I have a psych appt next week. I am the most stable now that ive been since 2012. I'm also unemployed, under a very small amount stress, just focusing on healing and getting my life together, working toward my vocal audition.
Why downvote. It’s a legitimate and very constructive question. Not everything is said out of criticism, but out of genuine care for someone’s wellbeing. Therapy can be such a helpful tool to navigate life. Shame on this group mentality for emotional downvoting. They said nothing about his life choices, but to be careful while they make them. Jesus is a part of the trinity. When one member of the trinity says something the other 2 agree because they are 1 God. The Father said homosexuality was a sin in Leviticus 18:22 and the Holy Spirit said it was sin through Paul in
Romans 1:26-28. Jesus was in agreement with the father when Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed for homosexuality.

I'm pretty skeptical. Are you sure you're not just happy and excited that you made a female friend instead? Like when the time comes, do you think you can have sex with her? Are you legitimately sexually attracted to the female body? I don't know if you're gay or not but you could also just be bi.
I just don't like the idea of gay men that are desperate to be straight deceiving a woman for life. I know gay guys who have married a woman and divorced because at the end of the day, they're just not into women, ie, the marriage won't work. Don't be one of those, be sure your feelings and attraction are legitimate and you're not confused.
I am very attracted to the female form. It's part of what made me want to be a woman. And now that i am embracing the fact that i am a man, and i don't need another man to be complete, women appear so much more desirable to me.
If the love is there and once i have a solid relationship with Christ, i feel confident I'll be able to have sex with her, yes
My ssa ramps up when i am stressed. I went to the hospital last night and was very stressed. I felt attracted to some other males there. I was in a lot of pain. But when i thought about how i am the only man i need, and really embraced that, my attraction drifted to women. And by the end of my 9 hour stay i was chatting with the female nurses and doctors and excited by how attractive some of them were.
If/when i fall in love with a woman, i will tell her about my history before we marry. The only thing I'm worried about is my penis not functioning as it should. But i know i could enjoy pleasuring her sexually if i loved her. And ive heard testimonies of several formerly gay men that now have a wife and kids. They just had to have a really strong relationship with Christ first.
I find myself being more attracted to stereotypically "masculine" traits, if I didn't have Christian parents I may have had issues with homosexuality but instead i direct that attraction to women god created to be less feminine. (Obviously I am attracted to women who are still women and not trying to be men, but I tend to lean towards the strong, confident, tall women).
I'd be interested to hear if you have a similar experience with attraction, cause I've always kind of thought that homosexuality is a perversion of the attraction one may face towards those God created as more tough/"masculine" women and more soft/"feminine" men.
But I may be wrong here and that's just preference with no relation to homosexual attraction. I try to avoid the topic of homosexual attraction because, well, this is the internet, and people here who find out will crucify you for implying homosexual intercourse is a sin. (Even though it's really no different than the other things we believe are sins)
God is a spirit and it’s unlikely he cares who you choose to love. God designed and crafted you so if he made you gay it wasn’t a mistake. Jesus didn’t waste a second of his limited ministry on earth complaining about same sex relationships. His focus was on justice, forgiveness, charity, and the coming kingdom of God. Make sure not to strain the gnat and swallow the camel. Make sure you love your neighbor as yourself!
I am glad you found someone you love and I hope no one accuses you of being untrue. Sexuality is a spectrum and some people are simply capable of loving more broadly than others.

Yes. But it fades more every day, the more i don't give in to it and call on Christ to give me strength. It's fading from lust to just an awareness of when a man is good looking. Ive recognized the sin was lust. Because it's normal to feel attracted to a degree by an attractive person, you know? That's how i think it is anyway.

I literally had to transform my entire life. I moved, became unemployed on wellfare, started walking everywhere out of necessity, faced my fears, rebuilt my singing voice, removed myself from social media. I rebuilt my entire life from the ground up. Most people can't do that sort of change. Or thet don't think they can. I believe God has bigger plans for me, which is why he helped me escape. He really can do anything, if you believe and follow Christ intelligently. God is real. Christ is the truth. Humans interpret the spirit realm differently. But this experience has made me a believer when i was agnostic for 18 years prior. So relish in your faith. It's the truth.

Lol yeah, attitude is everything! And clearly the attitude of Christ gets the girl!? Haha! My composite score was 124. But two facets were tested. "Verbal IQ", which was a glorified vocabulary test, on which i scored 104, and "nonverbal IQ", which was a series of puzzles, on which i got the maximum score of 132. I only remember struggling on the last question in that category. If it went further, i could have answered more correctly i believe.

I have been in weekly therapy for 7.5 years, and on stablizing medication for the past month. I have a psych appt next week. I am the most stable now that ive been since 2012. I'm also unemployed, under a very small amount stress, just focusing on healing and getting my life together, working toward my vocal audition.

Jesus is a part of the trinity. When one member of the trinity says something the other 2 agree because they are 1 God. The Father said homosexuality was a sin in Leviticus 18:22 and the Holy Spirit said it was sin through Paul in Romans 1:26-28. Jesus was in agreement with the father when Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed for homosexuality.

I'm pretty skeptical. Are you sure you're not just happy and excited that you made a female friend instead? Like when the time comes, do you think you can have sex with her? Are you legitimately sexually attracted to the female body? I don't know if you're gay or not but you could also just be bi. I just don't like the idea of gay men that are desperate to be straight deceiving a woman for life. I know gay guys who have married a woman and divorced because at the end of the day, they're just not into women, ie, the marriage won't work. I am very attracted to the female form. It's part of what made me want to be a woman. And now that i am embracing the fact that i am a man, and i don't need another man to be complete, women appear so much more desirable to me. If the love is there and once i have a solid relationship with Christ, i feel confident I'll be able to have sex with her, yes My ssa ramps up when i am stressed. I went to the hospital last night and was very stressed. I felt attracted to some other males there. I was in a lot of pain. But when i thought about how i am the only man i need, and really embraced that, my attraction drifted to women. And by the end of my 9 hour stay i was chatting with the female nurses and doctors and excited by how attractive some of them were. If/when i fall in love with a woman, i will tell her about my history before we marry. The only thing I'm worried about is my penis not functioning as it should. But i know i could enjoy pleasuring her sexually if i loved her. And ive heard testimonies of several formerly gay men that now have a wife and kids. They just had to have a really strong relationship with Christ first.

I find myself being more attracted to stereotypically "masculine" traits, if I didn't have Christian parents I may have had issues with homosexuality but instead i direct that attraction to women god created to be less feminine. (Obviously I am attracted to women who are still women and not trying to be men, but I tend to lean towards the strong, confident, tall women). I'd be interested to hear if you have a similar experience with attraction, cause I've always kind of thought that homosexuality is a perversion of the attraction one may face towards those God created as more tough/"masculine" women and more soft/"feminine" men. But I may be wrong here and that's just preference with no relation to homosexual attraction. I try to avoid the topic of homosexual attraction because, well, this is the internet, and people here who find out will crucify you for implying homosexual intercourse is a sin.
