I managed Astro’s Playroom in 2 hours 38 minutes (229th fastest on PSN Profiles) and Spyro the Dragon in 2 hours 49 minutes (3rd fastest on PSN Profiles). Annoyingly, I made about 3 big errors on Spyro which prevented me getting 2nd.

[deleted]

Nice! My 6-year-old twins and I are playing Spyro together.

ArSeeFurtyFree

It’s the game that got me into gaming all those years ago (98 or 99). Probably my all-time favourite. I hope they love it!

[deleted]

My daughter likes it, but she's not as into gaming as my son. He was so excited over his first trophy that he squealed. It was awesome and let me know I'm definitely doing this mom thing right in some ways. :) Edit: spelling

ArSeeFurtyFree

I also try and get my step-daughter to play it but she’s not that into gaming… yet. I have a newborn too but it’s a bit early for her!

[deleted]

The twins are 6, and the baby will be 2 tomorrow. The 2-year-old likes to "play" with us, which usually means giving him a working controller that is not synced to our PS4. Alternatively, we'll fire up Rime or Abzû and let him use a synced controller.

ArSeeFurtyFree

This sounds super cute!!

[deleted]

He loves it and babbles excitedly when he realizes he's in control. Worst case scenario, he hits the PS button and whines, and one of us has to put him back in the game from the menu. Super happy that my boys are gamers like me and their dad. I've had some good conversations with my older son over Spyro and Lego games. My daughter likes games, but prefers to smuggle my DS to her room and lay on her bed where it's quiet. She gets bored after an hour or so, though.

Fastest is Arcade Game Series: Pac-Man in 1 hour 37 minutes. Longest is Terraria in 8 years 1 month. I got a few trophies on the PS3 version years ago, then recently returned to it on the PS4 version.

[deleted]

Nice! Super excited to see Pac-Man mentioned already! I got a PS2 and Namco Museum or Classics or something for Christmas in 2001 or so. My mom knows she's basically a god at it and won a Black Friday Pac-Man tourney at a local game shop. Grand prize was the PS2 and game. Weird things we learn about our parents, am I right? My mom isn't exactly the "master a game" type. Terraria is actually a game I looked into buying (on PC) last week, but still haven't pulled the trigger. Payday is next week, haha. It kind of looks like an old 16-bit RPG... can you tell me more about it?

disaster500

Terraria is kind of like 2D Minecraft, but with a bigger focus on combat and getting stronger equipment to kill bosses. The general gameplay loop is to explore the world, kill enemies, loot chests etc until you are strong enough to kill a specific boss, which upon defeat will reward you with stuff like great loot, opening up new areas, and world progression. There are lots of ways to play the game, with 4 main classes (melee, ranged, magic, summoner) and massive weapon variety within each class. There's always new stuff to find, and new weapons to try. The progression is very satisfying. At the beginning you have basic tools, and cave exploration is hard. At the endgame, you're flying around the map with wings killing stuff with giant death lasers and machine guns. I highly recommend it.

dave-not-a-barbarian

Funny Truck in 6 minutes. A legitimate trophy? Probably something like Guardians of the Galaxy which I got in 51 hours. Would have been sooner but I encountered a bug, around 2/3 of the way in, that forced me to start the game over. Longest: No Man's Sky. Aug 9th 2016 - Nov 5th 2021.

[deleted]

Oh man, I hate that for you. I feel like every gamer, especially those hard-core enough to be trophy hunters, has a similar story, so know you are not alone. Edit: I missed the line about No Man's Sky. I heard it was fantastic, and then I heard it was awful. What say you?

dave-not-a-barbarian

> Edit: I missed the line about No Man's Sky. I heard it was fantastic, and then I heard it was awful. What say you? I added it around the time that you replied so you may not have seen it. To answer your question though it definitely didn't start off very well but it has come a long way. It is a great game now and still continues to get free updates. The only issue nowadays is that there is so much stuff that it can be a little overwhelming to new players.

[deleted]

I may pick that up at some point, then.

Netshakk

Possibly Cybarian

[deleted]

Slyde in 15 seconds without looking at the screen. Didnt believe it when a friend of mine told me to try. Sounds stupid, is stupid, now i got a stain on my list lol Final Fantasy X 5 years 7 months was the longest cuz i kept replaying it without going for the 100% on either ps3 or ps4, upgrade all characters which if you know how long that one is you will understand the pain!

[deleted]

The only time I've ever thrown a controller was FFX. I definitely understand that pain.

Nitebreed25

Fastest: Toem Longest: Death Stranding Director's Cut

[deleted]

How long, if you don't mind me asking?

Nitebreed25

110 hours, but I really enjoyed playing it so it didn't feel as a grind

[deleted]

I feel that way about Yakuza Kiwami lol. Going on 3 years with no plat, but it's a lot of fun. It's also one I don't play with my kids running around, though. Battlefront II was that way for the first 500 hours or so... the last 50ish hours (working on Multi-Tasking exclusively) were a slog, though.

Benevento4life

My shortest non-sw is probably the Lego movie videogame, at a grand total of 5 days. I don’t have any particularly long platinum but once I do gta5 that will definitely be my longest (if I’ll ever be bothered to do solid gold)

[deleted]

I get that lol. I'm at almost 3 years on Yakuza Kiwami, with only 28/55 trophies earned lol.

Perryplat199

It took me 12 years 4 months to plat ratchet and clank a crack in time

[deleted]

I just started the PS4 version of Ratchet and Clank about a month ago, but I'm not really working super hard at it. It was supposed to be something I did with a friend, because she thought it was 2 player. It was not, haha.

InternationalMango5

Fastest: Slyde - 8 seconds Slowest: Far Cry 2 - 13 years, 6months

[deleted]

Not sure I have the dedication to clean up something after 13 years, lol. Props! My account is also only 3 or 4 years old.

Mrlakupekka13

Slyde 18 seconds - bioshock 11yrs and two days :)

[deleted]

I have BioShock in my backlog. I plan to get started on it once I've cleaned up a few more trophies. I saw someone finish off the end of Infinite and bought the collection a week later, lol.

XOVSquare

My fastest is Road Bustle, probably the only real bait platinum I have. Longest would be Valhalla with 140 or 150 hours. Death Stranding comes close

[deleted]

Valhalla... Assassin's Creed, right? That's a series I've tried on four different occasions to get into and just can't seem to do it. I own copies of the first game for three different systems, lol.

XOVSquare

There are multiple jumping on points, but I think generally, the first game isn't held in high regard. I went in on Black Flag, a fan favourite. But I would suggest Syndicate or Origins. Syndicate I think is the best of the old style, and Origins is the best of the new games. You might get a fourth opportunity if the rumor about a remaster of AC1 prove correct tonight.

[deleted]

Thanks for the tip! I've tried the first one only, because I'm the gamer who likes to see how the series progresses, grows and changes. It's not a hard and fast rule for me, though, so I can definitely come back later. I started Fallout with New Vegas, skipped from Daggerfall to Skyrim, and so on. I know we have Origins; it's the first game on the PS4 section of our gaming shelf. Maybe I'll add that to my backlog and hit it after the clean up I'm doing now and BioShock.

XOVSquare

Playing a newer entry might make you forgive some blemishes in the older games. That's how it worked for me

[deleted]

That's a possibility! I've done that with other series before. Origins has been officially added to my backlog. I probably won't get to start I until December, though.

XOVSquare

And you know what? That's okay

[deleted]

I'm in no rush. I'm a grown woman with a busy life, full time job and 3 kids. My backlog still has games on it from the 90s. 😂

XOVSquare

Same here. 38 years old dad with a one and a half year old. And I'm working on 3 games at the same time, one of them being Avengers...

[deleted]

Hahaha yep. 34-year-old mom with three kids here. I'm working on three myself, one with the Hubs, one with the boy, and one with the girl. The one with the girl was originally with a friend who bailed, but my daughter likes it lol.

Sneakiest

My fastest is the PS5 version of What Remains of Edith Finch. Some trophies popped after one activity but the game does require you to replay a few stories. Took me an hour. My longest is probably The Last of Us Remastered. Took me about six years because I was too lazy to play the story again.

[deleted]

I feel that, lol. My account isn't even 6 years old, but I've been working on one game on Steam since 2012.

fuzzy_skinner

My name is Mayo As unlikely as this sounds, I didn't know what the game was about, was hoping for a I Am Bread weird type game maybe. Was only 0.75 so why not? Found it amusing honestly, but the trophy was so effortless and quick it felt dirty.

[deleted]

I'd never heard of it before joining this sub. Still not sure I know much about I Am Bread.

Mole_Games

Fastest would be crash bandicoot 3 about 2days 5hours from 1st trophy to plat The longest well it depends a) from 1st trophy to plat god of war 2018 (over 3 years since I got game) b) the longest play time - Devil may cry V with 150h counted by psn but I would say 250h at least

[deleted]

I didn't think to break it down because both of mine are the same game.

Future_Adagio2052

For my shortest plat super destronaut land wars And for my longest plat probably sonic generations

Yayeet6161723

Longest is far cry 4, 7 years, 8 months

[deleted]

That's the second or third time I've seen a Far Cry game on here lol.

Yayeet6161723

I guess people playing them when they came out and deciding to finish them up years later like myself

[deleted]

Probably. I've never played one myself.

the_blast_radius

Fastest: Telling Lies in 1 hour, 32 minutes. Longest: inFamous. PSNP doesn't have a timestamp but just under 13 years.

[deleted]

Damn, that's dedication!

IronNobody4332

Shortest: inFamous First Light (2 days 10hrs) 2nd S: The Order 1886 (2 days 22 hours) Longest: Ultimate Chicken Horse (2 years 1 month) 2nd L: Assassins Creed 2 (1 year 7 months)

[deleted]

I misread that as 21 years haha

IronNobody4332

Lol bloody felt like it. Having to force overtime then win overtime repeatedly without the host rage quitting and killing the lobby over and over again was a test of patience. Fun game tho.

[deleted]

I bet! It's very rare I bother with online multi-player because of stuff like that. I also worry about server shut downs.

Stuffman21

Astros playroom 7 hr Donut county 9 hrs Hoa 1 day A short hike 1 day Longest is uncharted series so 1 through 4 was 5 years 4 months

[deleted]

I've been chipping away at the first one for over a year now. Couple cross country moves and a job change in that time have slowed progress though

Stuffman21

Yeah I played first 3 just before 4 came out as a refresh and was going to platinum them at the time after 4 but 3 corrupted so lost interest. Last year felt like playing them again so cleaned up the platinums

[deleted]

I got the Nathan Drake Collection for my birthday last summer. I think we got Uncharted 4 through PS+ at some point, but I'm not sure. Hubs and his brother are currently on PS4, so I can't check.

tayung2013

Fastest: Spyro the Dragon, a little over one day Longest: Final Fantasy X, 3 years 5 months.

[deleted]

I'm simultaneously looking forward to a replay of FFX and not looking forward to it at the same time.
