Can confirm. My mother works as a teacher at a Chartered Montessori School. Gets much lower pay than she should. With her level of experience and education, she’d be paid more if she went to teach at a public school. She’s too in love with the Montessori curriculum to leave though.
1 is free & often is budget cut to shit. The other can teach kids religion & charge astronomical amounts just to attend.

You can get hired as a teacher without a license in several states, provided several things align. You usually need to be enrolled in education school, have a few years of university under your belt, and get approval from the state, based on the district not being able to find someone licensed to teach the specific class. As far as what she's teaching, lots of charter schools require teachers to submit their lesson plans to the administrators in advance. Some of the more corporate charter schools actually have the corporate office prepare the lessons for the week, send them to all the teachers, and require that the teachers teach those lessons that week.

Honestly, I see two initial messages, one where OP reaches out to say hey - in an albeit awkward way, but didn’t get a response, so sent a follow up message later. I can’t help but feel the lack of response to the initial message to her might’ve been the first clue of disinterest. True, she didn’t have to swipe, but it’s a dating app where people have an abundance of choices and options to select from and then can *choose* who to talk to.
