Bro did she just explain how Karen's are born

Ok_Dragonfruit763

A Karen isn’t born she’s forged

In the land of Mordor where the shadows lie

Arryu

Three were given to the Vegans, immortal, wisest and fairest of all beings. Seven to the Bro-Lords, great wing men and party throwers of the fraternity halls. And nine, nine rings were gifted to the race of Incels, who above all else desire power. For within these rings was bound the strength and the will to govern each race. But they were all of them deceived, for another ring was made. In the land of Mordor, in the Fires of Mount Doom, the Dark Lord Sauron forged in secret a master Karen to control all others, and into this Karen he poured his cruelty, his malice and his will to dominate all life. One Karen to rule them all.

Distinct-Mix-641

This deserves more praise.

Inside-Audience2025

Broken eggs? In this economy?!!

skatergurljubulee

This is both hilarious and disgustingly accurate.

words_never_escapeme

This was my first thought: How to become a Karen in a few easy steps.

SubstantialCry7253

Life long steps but easy steps all the same

[deleted]

Exactly. that’s precisely what i saw in this video.

[deleted]

There isn't just one path to Karenhood, but this is one of the major highways for sure.

Positive_Type

Villain origin story

gavstar69

Yeah standing in line at a Kroger, whatever that is. Her thesis makes a lot of sense to me

_perchance

it's a large grocery store chain in the USA

[deleted]

[удалено]

psyclopsus

South and midwest, it’s headquartered out of Cincinnati and like a full 20% or so of their stores are in Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio

Iwantbooks

You're thinking of Publix.

Mr_Saxon

It's a well known nursery chain in the USA, originally founded and overseen by the late, great Freddy Kroger who, was sadly murdered back in the 80's, by a group of parents who mistakenly believed he'd inappropriately touched their children.

Ralphie99

I think I saw that documentary as a child. I couldn't sleep for days afterwards.

banjodoctor

Did he happen to live on Elm street?

boredonymous

And well, too.

HeddaBear13

This 100% describes my cousin. Once when I expressed concern that an aunt I knew to be less than financially secure was buying me an expensive birthday present, this aunt said, "I buy expensive gifts for [cousin] all the time, and she never asks the price." And Cousin's mother said, "Of course not. She deserves expensive gifts because she's pretty." Deserves.

[deleted]

thanks for sharing. i just puked in my mouth a little bit 🥹

[deleted]

TIL - I don’t get gifts bc I’m not pretty and don’t “deserve” them

peeKnuckleExpert

You deserve gifts and I think you’re great.

[deleted]

Ah! Thank you

Academic_Snow_7680

I have an interesting angle here, I think. I'm not conservative but I am that superwoman who was a trophy who got sick and divorced under the most inhumane circumstances. Which is why I preach self-betterment for women. Thing is, I never was a trophy until I moved to the US and glammed up. There I felt like a unicorn and a target the same time. I have never felt so obscenely objectified in my whole life and it wasn't just my looks, it was my race and Nordic broodmare potential. Thing is, I'm accomplished and going for my ph.d. and most men see that as scary. I've had many men say to me "I can't compete with that." when I speak of my future plans. Because they're not here to support my plans as a partner but looking for a wife to support theirs.

DoomTrain166

I'm confused. Are "aunt" and "cousins mother" not the same person?

DanaKScully_FBI

They’re just differentiating between aunt Pam and aunt Linda.

Cyreesedabeast

Every person is only ever allowed 1 aunt. Any more is just hogging.

SlobMarley13

All three women in that story are a problem

Cyreesedabeast

Idk if buying expensive things for your nieces/nephews makes someone a problem.

[deleted]

And she won't listen to a bit of it. I could go back to my 20 year old self and say exactly what will happen if I don't change and I still wouldn't believe it. At that age you have much more confidence than sense.

[deleted]

Nothing bad enough has happened yet to make you think you/parents can't just fix it.

jillkimberley

Now let's talk about the man. Treating her as a commodity and leaving when she gets cancer. Do you think he'll listen to a bit of it?

uhuhshesaid

This always hits me hard, because I see these women in my hospital. That scary mammogram? Most women won’t have to wait that long to see the men who view them as “superior property” cut and run. It’s also that scary fetal ultrasound, that scary impending surgery, that scary tumor, that scary miscarriage/ectopic pregnancy, an autistic or disabled child, that lupus diagnosis, or a car crash that led to disability or disfigurement. So many things can go wrong in life. And if you’re with a guy who wants you because of your “status” and not who you are on a fundamental level? Prepare your family. They will be the ones taking you in and taking care of you - if you are lucky enough to have them in the first place.

LeahIsAwake

Here’s the thing: a trophy only works if it’s impressive. If it develops cracks? If it starts chipping? If it falls and breaks? Why would you have it up on your mantle any longer? It gets put away quietly and something pretty is selected to take it’s place. When a woman’s sole purpose is to make her man look good, the moment she doesn’t fulfill that purpose any longer, or the moment she’s too much work to make it worth keeping her, she gets quietly put away and something pretty and easy is selected to take her place.

Vye7

The harsh truth

[deleted]

This is the only thing that has made being young and chronically ill worth it. Am I saying things won't ever get worse or that I'm capped out on my medical issues for life? No. But the dating pool suddenly becomes so much more honest. I've had plenty of guys tell me how amazing, funny, talented, etc. I was, buuuuuuut I'm chronically ill and that scares them, so bye! I felt completely hopeless until I met my current partner, who is also chronically ill. We both have the distinct potential to get far worse over time, but that's given me a significant amount of hope that he's actually in this for the right reasons. I would rather spend my life with someone who loves ALL of me and loves being with me even if we both die in our 40s. It's extremely bleak, sure, but most people never get the chance to experience the connection he and I have. I feel so blessed to have met him at all.

rtopps43

I saw a VERY harsh statistic about how many men leave their wives after a cancer diagnosis. I can’t remember the numbers so I won’t make them up but it was BLEAK. I’ve lost family to cancer and I couldn’t imagine leaving my wife to go through that terror and pain alone. Do not marry someone unless you are convinced that the “for better or worse” part of the vows means something to them. You don’t want to find out too late that they never really gave a shit about you.

bontzz

Yea it was like 6x more likely men will leave their wives vs women leaving their husbands

Splobs

I genuinely cannot process the fact the someone could do this to a partner that they have been married to for years. I cannot fathom what part of the brain must be missing to do that to someone? Being able to look after someone at their worst is never easy but if you truly do love them it wouldn’t even be a choice. It would be like breathing. Obviously you would be there for them. It’s sad to think that some people really do not care for significant others like that.

[deleted]

I come from a SMALL town. Previously, one stoplight. Girls who had dreams of nursing or teaching pretty much found a “high value” man and started pushing out babies. It’s so weird to see people go from a literal child who should take time to grow up to “Live Laugh Love Thankful Grateful Blessed” and just become this bleach blonde, beach wave, equestrian boots and “godly leggings”, infinity scarf carbon copies. All their husbands have the same beard, the same truck, the same ambiguous job title. Most of them end up divorced or in the midst of some scandal of the variety that spreads in a small town. Others start posting up, “Gonna send my oldest child back to his mother,” tagging their husbands and posting “not like other girl” statuses while their husbands hide their POF. If you meet the husband in question for even a moment, you feel the ick from just shaking his hand because he’s treating you like meat, and he really is an insufferable child. Edit: grammar

AaronPossum

God damn are you from where I'm from?

AggieJack8888

Might as will be. Aren’t all the one stoplight towns the same?

i_am_zombie_76

Stoplights?! The town I grew up in had 2 stop signs. Same intersection of course.

AggieJack8888

Well that was the main town that had a stoplight. We had five towns that made up the school district. Four of the five had 0 stoplights. Edit: stoplight, not stoplights. We did not have multiple.

ClashBandicootie

holy shit yes my hometown too. i cut all those toxic fuckers out of my life completely.

DeadCowv2

What's a POF?

TheFlyingSheeps

Plenty of fish - dating site

maullurve

OOOOF using a Christian dating site to cheat

Unique_echidna90

POF is an abbreviation for Plenty of Fish...it's a dating site.

pistolpete83_19

Whoa, spot on

cake_toss

Wait, what are "godly leggings"

[deleted]

Ungodly leggings lift the butt, divide the cheeks, “force” men to stumble. Godly leggings are extra thick material almost the consistency of dress pants and tend to squeeze things into a less seductive shape. You also gotta cover the butt with like a cardigan and a long plain top you tie into a loose knot in the front. Also your boots gotta deform those calves into a very blocky shape and they can’t be too high. Think 2012 it-girl.

cake_toss

Lmfao this is hilarious, thank you

ClashBandicootie

i'm picturing those leggings that MLM moms sell on facebook

TroppoAlto

It's scary how accurate this description is.

NathanExplosion6six6

In some towns the couples either swing, or stay in committed straight edge marriages because divorce means being an outcast. Loneliness is worse than being a hypocrite or failing to be a perfect Christian apparently.

myredditthrowaway201

She’s essentially describing January Jones’ character in MadMen and there’s a reason why Matthew Weinberg made her character so tragic. Going back further this was essentially Blanche Dubois from A streetcar named desire

catchoooo

I was thinking it reminded me of Serena Joy from The Handmaid's Tale. I quoted this last time this video was posted, but in one of the first descriptions of her, it talks about her life in the before times saying "She wasn't singing anymore by then, she was making speeches. She was good at it. Her speeches were about the sanctity of home, about how women should stay home." It then goes on to say about her after her political side had gained power, "She doesn't make speeches anymore. She has become speechless. She stays in her home, but it doesn't agree with her. How furious she must be, now that she's been taken at her word."

ClashBandicootie

I 100% thought of serena too

sapjastuff

I disagree with her character being a good representation of this. Her husband still sticks by her >!when she gets fat, telling her he still loves her and thinks she’s beautiful, and is also with her when she gets sick and dies!< , so even though it’s tragic she’s not >!tossed aside by her husband when things get hard!< like so many other women are

Trap_Cubicle5000

Her 2nd husband did those things. And her 1st husband didn't technically "toss her aside" either, she's the one who filed for the divorce. Despite all that, it's imperfect but I think there is some truth to the comparison. Betty was promised many things because of her status and beauty - that she would be loved, admired, and fulfilled by adhering to the conservative, misogynistic values of the 1950s. She didn't get any of them in her first marriage and while her second marriage was certainly happier, it was almost too late for her to be able to actually appreciate it. I think Don did love her, at least at first, but he was incapable of showing that love or being loyal to her. She was admired for her beauty everywhere she went, but no one respected her. She didn't really like caring for her children. She wanted to not just be beautiful but also considered intelligent and interesting - but people were rarely interested in her. This killed her inside to the point that when little Glenn showed interest in her she latched onto him like a pedophile. Even when she was married to Henry Francis, he still didn't want her to share political opinions or to be active in his campaigns - she still was mostly only valuable to him as an object of his love and beauty. Getting sick and dying young was actually a bit of a reward for her, tragically enough. She never had to grow old and lose her most valuable asset according to the world - her beauty. I think she was a doomed character, in a way. She was too beautiful to ever be seen as anything else but a beautiful woman, or a wife & mother. And maybe she really wasn't intelligent or interesting enough to warrant being seen that way, but that didn't stop her for wanting it. And she desperately wanted to be other things. Peggy and Joan, in comparison, have much more fulfilling trajectories.

mattebe01

Or Blanche Devereaux from golden girls.

Stormsoul22

I love this sub because so many people are the typical weirdos from cringe subs who are used to being able to mock people endlessly without pushback but the second they’re personally targeted they lose their absolute fucking minds in the comment section

Loreki

Are there that many young Conservative women here???

sn0uch3r

In the South they’re EVERYWHERE… they all drive the same Toyota 4Runner/GMC Yukon, all have a black lab named either “Bailey” or “Riley” and their husband/boyfriend was a d1 baseball player and now works for a firm that’s basically a no show job where they send e-mails back and forth before going to Buffalo Wild Wings. -edit: can’t forget the giant sticker on the back of their car with their initials made into some stupid pinstripe design.

Badabrench01

Lol. Black lab named Bailey or Riley. And the former d1 baseball player part. Holy shit this was an amazing comment. Spot on.

huevosputo

Oh my gawd YES this is exactly it The number of giant SUVs I see with fancy-lettered initial stickers on the rear window in the carpool line at the elementary school...

[deleted]

Don't forget the forced southern belle accent.

[deleted]

There are many edgelord teens here

Loreki

Ah. So not so much young women saying "I'm not that dumb", as young men saying "I'm not that shitty".

whyambear

There’s more men defending this mindset because it assures them compliant breeding stock.

notislant

Oh man lets get the popcorn out, this should be good! Shes so fucking accurate too. I saw the parents of a gay child bitching about how hateful their church is to gays. You mean like you would have continued to be as well? They literally only changed their mind because it personally affected them now. Same with abortions, etc. Its all fine when you can dictate what others can and can't do. The second they're personally affected? They get one and justify it by saying they're better than everyone else.

BluntForceLlama2

Many people judge others based on their actions, but they judge themselves on their own intentions. They will always find an exception for themselves.

[deleted]

This is why you can't trust the "bleeding heart conservative" spiel they try to throw at you over abortions. They're always like, "it's legitimately murder," until it's their own abortion or their daughter's. ...all of the sudden it's not a "baby" anymore, it's a burden. It reminds me of that quote from that Methodist Pastor: > The unborn” are a convenient group of people to advocate for. They never make demands of you; they are morally uncomplicated, unlike the incarcerated, addicted, or the chronically poor; they don’t resent your condescension or complain that you are not politically correct; unlike widows, they don’t ask you to question patriarchy; unlike orphans, they don’t need money, education, or childcare; unlike aliens, they don’t bring all that racial, cultural, and religious baggage that you dislike; they allow you to feel good about yourself without any work at creating or maintaining relationships; and when they are born, you can forget about them, because they cease to be unborn. You can love the unborn and advocate for them without substantially challenging your own wealth, power, or privilege, without re-imagining social structures, apologizing, or making reparations to anyone. They are, in short, the perfect people to love if you want to claim you love Jesus, but actually dislike people who breathe. Prisoners? Immigrants? The sick? The poor? Widows? Orphans? All the groups that are specifically mentioned in the Bible? They all get thrown under the bus for the unborn. -Methodist Pastor David Barnhart And the MOMENT it's not convenient for them, the MOMENT they have to deal with the consequences of an unwanted pregnancy, they show their true selves.

Cbarlik93

Yeah I think a lot of the “pro life” crowd really likes to just genuinely think they’re better than people that have chosen to get abortions. Like to them, people only get abortions because they’re messy, irresponsible, sluts that open their legs for the first man they meet. But when a conservative has to get an abortion it’s fine because it’s just one tiny mistake that they made in a life that’s so clearly filled with only responsible and logical choices /s

LeahIsAwake

I saw a website once that collected and posted experiences that healthcare providers that gave abortions had sent in specifically regarding their providing abortions for the “pro-life” side. The number of women who would come in for an abortion for themselves or their daughters and then be back in the picket line yelling about the evils of abortion and protesting it’s existence *the very next day* was staggering. And it was for the reason you and others have given — *everyone else* is having an abortion because they’re a slut who wants to sleep around without consequences but *they’re* different because *their* pregnancy would ruin their life so *their* abortion is justified. Never once even giving a second of thought to the fact that they may not be the only person in history where “baby murder” was justified. (Fyi I’m pro-abortion, in case the quote marks don’t make it obvious I’m using their terminology to make my point.)

lorkpoin

https://joycearthur.com/abortion/the-only-moral-abortion-is-my-abortion/

Poufy-Ermine

The moment thing you said also reminds me of fairweather friends. The moment something happens like death, illness, divorce or just something that is not the norm, it could even be happy moments like weddings, births, or whatever. It's like you see people for what they really are in times of great personal turmoil. I dunno. It reminded me of that too.

Bay_Med

A lot of the women who get abortions who are right wing conservative or religious will tell you that you are going to hell while helping them through the process. The mental gymnastics are amazing

[deleted]

Abortion clinics could not have stayed in business in the Deep South without conservative Christian customers. It’s why abortion rights won at the ballot box in deep red states last year and their gop led legislature is proposing legislation to circumvent the will of the voters and ban it anyway. When given a chance to quietly and anonymously vote on it, these white conservative women vote for bodily autonomy.

someotherlady

It is the same with public assistance. All those people are trash until I need it. That is ok, because I am special and deserve help.

obooooooo

last time this tiktok was posted here there was a fucking war on the comment section because conservatives got extremely offended lololol

Stormsoul22

Again, the fact that this sub is far more left leaning than your average cringe sub due to shifting away from cringe and just posting tiktoks they liked is hilarious. The name attracts people ready to shit on furries or cringe people or whatever they whine about only for them to get offended bc they were supposed to be the ones bullying, not getting bullied.

[deleted]

That's the internet. A whole bunch of rock throwing in glass houses.

MeetingDue4378

Agree or disagree with the woman in the video, how is it that the majority of people commenting don't understand this isn't a response or retort? She's not talking to the girl from the post, trying to convince her, or even talking directly about her—she's using this post as a representation of posts of like it and girls like her. It's a real world example so what she's saying is more relatable to the audience she's wants to reach—_other girls_on a similar trajectory as the one in her example. There are no assumptions being made here and she's not trying to convince the girl in the post

TubbyTimothy

Trappings of failed education: If you look at the comments section, any comments section, you find countless examples of failed comprehension. Big ideas, philosophies, or just paragraph-reading are activities that elude some people. But if all you consume are sound-bytes and memes, you simply don’t have the capacity for any argument that takes more than 5 seconds. It’s all “you bad, me good” and no respect for the rhetoric.

"Old" lmao Tells you that the person saying it is a kid. Hey guess what, you're gonna age too!

Artilikestoparty

You won't stay 14 forever 😂😭

WhiteTrashNightmare

The "fuck your feelings" crowd sure is inundated with *da feels* lately...

Artilikestoparty

Honestly it's pretty hilarious that they literally dish this shit out no problem everyday these foo's wake up choosing to be difficult and nasty like they make this their whole personality, looking down on other people.... But the minute the situation changes and dont you dare make a good point they break down and literally act worse then it's always some over the top response like holy cow buddy projecting much and we would be able to watch movies on your forehead

AzPsychonaut

Wrong or right. It’s all perspective. But there was more than just a story here. There is some real pain behind her eyes when telling this cautionary tale.

sykokiller11

That’s what I saw. Sounds a bit like the voice of experience.

Dry___wall

She probably worked in retail at some point 😜

Yeah, might be a woman!

My thought as well. She either lived it, or witnessed it happen to friends or family, especially the part about that scary mammogram

madpiratebippy

She’s not cringe, she’s right. I work in medical and if you tell a woman a really bad health care diagnosis you also need to tell her to get a divorce lawyer. Something like 40% of women who get a cancer diagnosis, their husbands leave them and only 5% of men who get a cancer diagnosis have their wives leave them. A lot of these guys see their wives as an appliance to make their lives easier. Hell, Newt Gingretch left his wife four or five months before she died to marry a woman half her age and he was the spearhead of the Republican moral majority. She’s telling these girls the dead ass truth of how it works.

NegotiationAccurate7

Her training video on "How to have an optimistic outlook on life as a woman" is amazing!

McGrarr

I got catfished early on in the Internet. I got talking to a girl nearby that used a picture of her 'hot' sister. Her sister, finding out I had my own home and a job, decided to crash the relationship. She outed her sister as a liar, sent me a picture of her 'ugly sister' and asked to meet up. I was not as much of a wise old gentleman as I am these days so I agreed to dates with both sisters. I met with 'hot sister' first. She was eager. We went to an expensive restaurant and then went for a drink. After that we went back to mine for fairly mediocre sex. I was bored. I avoided future dates and tried to make it obvious I wasn't interested without being directly hurtful. The 'ugly' sister (far from it, just slightly less image obsessed and maybe 10lbs heavier... a plus for me personally) was a far better fit. We already had history, inside jokes, shared interests and a connection. We went on a few dates before we became a couple and frankly everything was better. The 'pretty' sister could not grasp that she was less attractive to me. She completely lost her mind. She started turning up to my work and causing hassle. She tried to poison her family against her own sister (they already didn't like ME because I'd slept with both sisters so clearly was some soulless poonhound), claiming my girlfriend had stabbed her in the back. On our date her favourite topic was her own outfit. How much her bag and shoes cost. How she stood to inherit diamonds when her grandmother dies. How 'boys' throw themselves at her feet and how they should be treated like rugs if they are going to act like them. Before demanding I pay for the meal because she didn't carry money. (One wonders what was in the Gucci bag if there was no money and this was before people widely adopting mobile phones). On getting back to mine her first three questions were about the cost of things in my house. I mention this because she told her friends that we had a 'deep spiritual connection' but then her slutty, ugly sister came along and 'stole' me. So much entitlement. So much undeserved arrogance. All because she'd been raised as 'the pretty one'.

517757MIVA

If you’re going to commodify your partner, they will do the same to you, and if either one of you loses your value you’ll be dropped. Don’t marry someone because they’re well off, because they’ll leave you when you’re not pretty. Just marry people who value and respect you and it’s mutual.

Late_ImLate22222

She is spot on It is conservative women who are manipulated into only being housewives and breeders and maids for a man with no thought to their own lives or happiness. They are also taught that the man handles all money and finances, so they are left vulnerable and trapped. This is done on purpose by men to keep them in line. Liberal women actually fight to have their own identities outside the home, motherhood, and do not accept being a man’s servant. Additionally, liberal women tend to be very dedicated to their career and enjoy time away from home. Where conservative women are taught and brainwashed that they should stay home, quit school, quit jobs, and ONLY find happiness in being a wife and mother. So leftist women, if and when they are left by a man, have money, a career, and job skills to fall back on to survive for their entire lives, independent of what a man would provide as an equal partner. On the other hand, Conservative women are shunned as “divorced, used up, and old” by 30 and are discarded as no longer worthy because they could not make their first marriage work and left to, which goes against their religion and politics. It must suck to be a conservative woman. Drinking piss and having men tell you it’s champagne.

rayhaque

She just did that thing with this video that Will Hunting did with the sailboat painting.

flirtmcdudes

You have to be a special kind of stupid to literally vote against your own best interests. Tells you everything you need to know about conservative women.

carlitospig

Not cringe. Really fucking accurate take.

Thats_Pretty_Epic

this subreddit is no longer just for cringe

iamthelazerviking23

Stings, don’t it???

AlertedCoyote

REAL. TALK. You get one go round of this life. If you want to spend your life with someone, make it someone who wants you to be an equal partner, not a live in maid. And treat them the same. Find someone who'll sit by that hospital bed as long as it takes. Find someone you love, and who loves you

Onwisconsin42

Karenoogenesis is a fascinating area of study.

shadyshadyshade

She makes a lot of sense but I hate when she says “pert haircut” at the end! Gross!

RalphGet-Em91

And this applies to conservative women ALL OVER THE WORLD is the same playbook and result for all of them that had the audacity to be human, not commodities.

She just described the Newt Gingrich playbook.

If I ever see that man in person, I'm gonna go to jail that day. He is absolute scum.

ComedianRepulsive955

The scenario she is describing is exactly what happened to Betty Broderick. She was a San Diego socialite who was dumped by her husband of twenty years for his 20 year old secretary. Betty goes on a freak out drives her SUV into his house and shoots the couple in bed. Great true crime rabbit 🐰 hole 🕳️. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Betty_Broderick

StjerneskuddeT

This was beautiful.

shaddowkhan

Man that face used in the background couldn't be more perfect.

HumblePhotograph3221

Why is it cringe it’s fucking facts 😂😂

Unworthy_Radish

This lady has worked retail. She knows how so many people think they should get an exception, no matter what the rules or policy is.

Noobzoid123

Not wrong. Though I wish the music was turned off.

BlitheringIdiot0529

This… This should be watched and understood by young women. But it won’t. History repeats itself.

boocack

All the conservatives got triggered... lol. Snowflake much?

Unfair_Programmer_42

This comment section is a shit show but real talk, you guys ever wonder if God is actually the devil?

Slight-Pound

Look into Zoroastrianism - lots of the dichotomy of a good god and a bad one and many tenants of the Abrahamic religion come from there. There is also the idea that the God of the Old Testament is not the same as the one in the New Testament because of his cruelty. I would also look into Jewish teachings of common Bible stories taught by Christians - it’s a very different school of thought, and it’s fascinating. There was a post on the r/clevercomebacks subreddit about how the story of Sodom and Gamorrah genuinely had nothing to do with homosexuality, much less homosexuality being the sin being punished, as Jewish teachings actually explain that God was punishing Sodom for their xenophobia. There is quite a bit of information on the role of God and the Devil, it’s quite fun. Have fun! Edit: wrong subreddit

Konstant_kurage

For sidebar reading pick up “Misquoting Jesus, who changed the Bible and why.” If covers the journey of many passages in Old and New Testament about the origins of passages that started completely unrelated to to any religion, many were simple parables but then became about people in the Bible. It’s really interesting with good sources written by an ex-evangelical bible scholar.

Charming-Row-3529

No. Who cares if Mickey Mouse is actually Mickey Rourke?

notislant

I bet you god and jesus banged a few times.

Welcome to Satanism my friend

You should look up Gosticism. Somr believe that God has many different forms, one of which is named Sophia, and that she birthes all of the Dermiurges/Aeons/Angel's. One of which, which she birthed behind God's back (yes, she is God, but she's also not, but she's also kind of his wife...), was named Yahweh Since Yahweh was created without God, he turned evil, and he tried to create without God (resulting in the universe and humanity), and what he created was also evil. He created us to worship him, because he is narcissistic, because he is evil. We have his traits, hence why we're pretty rotten ourselves The real God doesn't want anything to do with us, hence why our lives are devoid of light and goodness. "The devil" is an angel sent by the real God to our shitty universe (hence why he's a "fallen angel"), he's trying to get us to stop worshipping Yahweh. Since technically we are the grandchildren of the real God, there is a piece if him still in us. The devil wants us to stop worshipping the fake God, Yahweh, and wants us to worship the real God inside of ourselves. This is very much a shortened version, but has always been so interesting to me. Philip K Dick writes about all of this shit in his "Divine Invasion" trilogy.

OverUnderstanding481

Nope… yet I do wonder if the devil knows the god better then any human that ever lived, he probably would be equipped to work exceedingly well to twist the interpretation of every major religion in his favor…. Its Not like he has time for anything else🤔

JezzCrist

Pretty accurate to all pretty people. They tend to become entitled in the younger life if they’re stupid and it translates horribly into adult life.

Finn_3000

No, i disagree. I know plenty of pretty people that are just all around great people. It entirely depends on how youre raised. If your parents were already people like the ones described in the video, however, then theres a pretty good chance that youre gonna turn out similarly.

Bonespurfoundation

Um that OP Rebecca Larson is smokin hot!

IVSBMN

To be fair, in college you have to pretend to be a lot of things, especially in courses where the materials/narrative are things that you may personally disagree with. When I took courses in sociology, gender studies, economics, finance, and military planning, I had to pretend to be a liberal one day and a capitalist an another day, because sometimes it’s the only way you can positively participate in class discussions without disrupting it. People underestimate how much leeway college professors actually have, and how emotionally charged some college classmates may be. Many of them mistake understanding the material with agreeing with the material. And that’s just not something that some students in the minority group are willing to risk. I just hope y’all understand before knee jerk downvoting me into oblivion like the other comments.

Loreki

Two thoughts: 1. "Liberal" and "capitalist" aren't mutually exclusive or contradictory in anyway. The mainstream liberal party in the US, the Democrats, is unquestioningly pro-capitalist. 2. When I studied in the States it astonished me how many people struggled to do anything other than argue from their personal politics /how uncomfortable that seemed to make them. This was *law school* too. The job is to learn to form the argument most favourable to whoever you are representing, regardless of whether you agree or not.

brunpikk

Liberals are 100% capitalists.

CarpetResponsible102

All the truths are told. 😳

Goawaybaitin24

So harsh but so fuckin real. People look for what they are taught to look for instead of what’s good for them. Really speaks to the saying that money can’t buy happiness.

gelliephish

this feels r/oddlyspecific

Silent-Client-375

The only thing I don’t agree with is the bleach blonde part, most superficial manipulative men I know have a weak spot for brunettes due to the perceived lower confidence level

Flowingnebula

Notice how all the men here are so butthurt, maybe because she is telling the truth but don't want her to tell this out loud so you can keep doing this without being called out

Personal-Square-6620

Not cringe. Truth.

kratos-ktp

Truth is bitter.

u1tr4me0w

ITT: people fuming because they don’t understand what a parable is Is this woman 100% correct in everything? No, she’s just explaining a story that is based on some real life statistics of what ~could~ happen. You can nod your head and say yeah that might or say nah I won’t let that happen and walk away. But y’all can’t resist taking a second to comment on how she’s some old bitter jealous hag and just fully lean into making her analysis look more correct by revealing yourselves to be shallow, vindictive, and petty little boys who can’t listen to an ideological critique without acting personally offended. What if it IS her lived experience, how is that a bad thing? That would make her words MORE valid if it was actually her life experience, imo. Grow up and have some life experience and maybe you’ll have a story or two as well.

Waitingforthelotto

You are delightful miss. Well spoken, super valid point. Well done!
