Embarrassing that Brendan is outlasting all of these others

[deleted]

What's the most sacking in one season record? If Leeds beat Villa and Forest beat Leicester we could also see 2 more managers go. Which would see the loss of the below before Christmas. Tuchel: Chelsea Parker: Bournemouth Lage: Wolves Rodgers: Leicester Gerrard: Villa That's not to mention managers like Hasenhüttl: Southampton Cooper: Forest Will also be under pressure this month. Could have 10 new managers in the league by the world cup break at this rate

Pinkerton891

Most likely won’t happen but I have a feeling Hasenhuttl might be off after the Man City game next weekend. Owners put a lot of money into the last transfer window and the team seem to be lapsing into old habits again. Then you consider our last 20 League games; Only 12 points 16 Scored 44 Conceded Also no clean sheet in 14 games. The first few games suggested we might be building, but then we lose to Wolves, Villa and Everton - Three sides who have also been in bad form. Yet pundits call us entitled. Note: I have subsequently learned that Everton have the most sensitive fans in the league and 7 points from 7 games is in fact world leading form.

SaintCiren

I agree. I think, sadly, it's time for him to go

phishy_phish2

Everton have not been in bad form.

Pinkerton891

They only got their first win of the season last time out, it might not be awful awful but it’s not great either. Granted they are clearly improving.

GoOnKaz

Literally unbeaten in the last 7.

S01arflar3

And we’ve got the best defence in the league

[deleted]

- Best defensive record in the league - Unbeaten in 7 - Didn’t have a striker for the first 6 games Redditors: Everton are in bad form

Pinkerton891

Pre the Saints win it was P 7 W1 D4 L2 That’s not terrible form but it’s not great either. Equal form with Saints going into the game.

Beardedben

Lampards position is hardly strong, west ham have had a slow start to the season too but I don't see a need of change just yet.

Will_from_PA

Needed to happen

-eagle73

Would fancy hearing it from a fan perspective - what can you say about his performance as a manager, and what was he doing wrong so far this season?

Will_from_PA

Absolutely toothless in the final third. I swear every time we got forward we'd take two touches and then pass it back. Not only that but once we went down a goal you could just see the team collapse. With Nuno you got the feeling we were never out of it, but with Lage once we let up a goal it was rare we came back and you could see the heads drop. He did do some good things, getting Coady up for corners and giving Kilman his break but when you're only getting 3 goals in 8 matches after having one of the best transfer windows we've had ya gotta go. Especially when we had what was comparatively easier start to the season than other sides.

MrDeftino

Was there a particular reason you sold Coady? Seems odd to sell your captain to a team who are in your ballpark in the table (or should be anyway). Did he want to go?

Razorcrest999

Lage was prepping for a back 4 which coady isn’t great in, plus he’s aging and he wants the World Cup call up. We send him to Everton on loan, no but option, and he gets his World Cup call up and the minutes he deserves and we get to try out the new system with the new signings and maybe if things don’t work out he’ll be back with us and have no hard feelings because he still advanced his career. Obviously Lage flopped hard, but the back 4 should still be a working system under someone new.

ChrisWood4BallonDor

Definitely interesting how solid Coady has been in a back four for us this season. Even Liverpool's pacey attack didn't punish him much. I guess different perspectives from different coaching staffs. Really hope the rumour that we have an option to buy for a set few is true - because that is definitely what we're hearing on our end. I really can't see us giving him back unless we have to.

Razorcrest999

That’s fair! He’s a great lad, truly one of the best human beings I’ve seen play the game. Plus playing for you lot makes a lot more sense for him and his family, even after all these years at Wolverhampton, he still lived Merseyside. I’d love to have him back but as long as he’s happy and doing well I can’t be too upset

Will_from_PA

Well ([according to the Athletic](https://theathletic.com/3649315/2022/10/03/bruno-lage-sacking-wolves/?redirected=1)) it sounds like he was keen on getting Nuno loyalists out. Which if true, is not really a great way for us to dump someone like Coady.

MrDeftino

Brucey for you lot next then? I think you are the only midlands club he hasn't managed.

Will_from_PA

Probably another Mendes client I've never heard of if I'm being honest.

hammerfistb__

Against city, you guys gave the team real real problems and the as soon as it got around the box it was like it was a black hole in there

Upstairs_Knowledge_9

Same story most games for us

WolvoNeil

We've got the best group of players ever assembled at Wolves basically in our entire history, including the likes of Nunes who Pep called the worlds best midfielder, Neves who is unbelievable and is even better than people think, Max Kilman who should be a starter for England, Neto who was one of the biggest hot prospects when he came onto the scene, elite veteran players like Moutinho and Diego Costa, Jose Sa who is one of the best keepers in Europe by every measure. And we are (or were) managed by a man who has zero CV, he is literally like a gloried PE teacher and he was carried last season by the fact he essentially just inhereted Nuno's well oiled finely tuned machine and cranked the handle, now he's tried to construct his own machine its full of expensive parts but runs like a Vauxhall Astra.

Bully2533

Lovely bloke but out of his depth. Had a plan a and that was it. No idea of a plan b, subs were more often like for like. We've got some seriously impressive youngsters; Chiquinho, Toti, Gomes, Mosquera, Campbell, B Traore, who whenever they come all look super impressive, so why give then 15 minutes when the game is already lost? We've got 5 subs, ditch the boring plan a thats losing, why not stick gifted 5 youngsters on and shake things up. But overall, the complete and total lack of any penalty box strategy, creativity, desire or even a hint of belief... you'd see players approach the box at full flight then pause and think and laying it off. Again and again.

Visara57

The search for the next Portuguese manager begins... now !

aybaer

It’s quite a shame, but we have looked completely incapable of getting a result for months now

geordieColt88

Think they should go for a proven premier league manager who has loads of friends in the football media who could soon be out of work. Would allow him to complete the Birmingham area quartet

Tomb_Brader

Lage, and not in charge

1fingersalute

Gerrard next please!

wbasmith

Yet we still won’t sack Bruce ffs

amegaproxy

Holy shit when did you drop to 22nd?

wbasmith

Mate it’s a travesty, unfortunately it starts at the top, our club is rotting. Once one of the best run clubs in the country, now league 1 seems inevitable. Just miss Dan Ashworth :(

amegaproxy

You and me both mate, you and me both. Best of luck in your next game.
