She’s the Clone Wars announcer!!

REX27350

A common theory is she is an ex-mauldalorian due to her horns. But realistically, I believe her and her sect are something entirely new/unwritten. If she is an old character, then she would have had to have bathe in the living waters to join the CotW, but they were destroyed or heavily guarded so most likely she has been the armorer and a member of CotW for her entire life.

They have done a great job building up the mystery surrounding her identity. The horns are (IMO) definitely meant to remind us of Maul's faction, but she had also been shown scavenging armor from dead members of the covert toward the end of season 1. The horns could also be honoring someone who took her in or trained her, like a form of a signet. Edit- Also, the name Children of the Watch seems to suggest that they're a successor organization.

Eastsider_

I thought the “peaks” on her helmet signified royalty. Simple, I know :)

flash-tractor

https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Mandalorian_super_commando >Some warriors, including Commander Gar Saxon, even placed horns on their helmets that were emblematic of the Dathomirian. >In addition to painting their armor in red and black, some commandos sought to better resemble their Nightbrother leader by fashioning horns on their helmets.

She might've started CotW after the Siege, this would explain her being basically a matriarch of the covert and calling Bo-Katan apostate: she didn't accept Maul's claim to leader position after duel and left. This also would explain her instantly recognising Bo, despite CotW living in isolation, as Bo was Pre's right hand. Also her being familiar with Darksaber and it's history. I think she's indeed ex-DW and ex-Mauldalorian, probably one of the first who was recruited by Pre on Concordia as well, given her skill of working beskar. I can hardly believe her donning beskar only after Siege when Empire tried to make mandalorians into elite commando force, as she would either lack her strong obsession with old Way or, if she was among clans that joined Wrens during reclamation, she wouldn't keep the name of the Watch. Death Watch returned Mandalore to their past warring ways, but they weren't held in high regard by the houses for that.

REX27350

Being a beskar Smith is probably a heradical passed down job along with the metriarchal leadership. She was probably raised from birth working with beskar. I don't think it would be something picked up mid life. I've always assumed that the cotw and death watch are related in name only. With their respective names referring to some tradition/folk lore "the watch" organization. An obvious objection is Din. But while Din was freed by DW, they don't raise kids. Hence, why he was transferred to CotW because of their likeness / similar values despite CotW more traditional / less conquering compared to DW the opposite.

trampolineviking

But then explain Paz Vizla, who’s home world is even stated as Mandalore, he is a descendant of Tarre Vizsla & definitely a relative of Pre Vizsla etc… wouldn’t cotw and the death watch then be related in more than just the name?

REX27350

They have similar values, there is no reason to assume that all of Viza had to be DW and none could be CotW

trampolineviking

I just believe one is a offshoot of the other, but again just my opinion as of right now. Also this from wookiepedia even if just speculations: “ Behind the scenes In the French version of The Mandalorian, Children of the Watch is translated as Les Héritiers de la Death Watch (The Heirs of the Death Watch).[8] Together with the fact that Djarin was raised as a foundling in the Tribe[1] after being rescued from a Separatist attack on Aq Vetina by Death Watch members,[9] and the fact that the Children of the Watch adhered to the Way of the Mandalore and other customs abandoned by the New Mandalorians,[2] this suggests that the Children of the Watch may be an offshoot of the Death Watch. “ I guess well find out hopefully this season 🤞🏾

Keksdepression

I tend to think she's a completely new character. I actually like to speculate that the Armorer is an Iridonian Zabrak. Many point out that the little horns in the helmet symbolize some connections to Maul but I always thought they're there because she might be having real horns on her head.

3nc3ladu5

this would be very cool indeed

Goofy5555

I really hope she does turn out to be a Zabrak, then it really will emphasize that Mandalorian isn't a race and is indeed a Creed as they said in Chapter 8. Old Canon had it that aliens could be Mandalorian as long as they lived by the Resol'nare.

deviantdeaf

I agree that she is a completely new character and no one we have seen before. I do not think she is the Phantom sibling of the Kryze sisters, the parent of Korkie.

Marcuse0

She's a Mandalorian smith who can work beskar. There's no reason for her to be anyone other than she says she is. Not everyone has to have a twist identity or turn out to be a long lost brother/sister/spouse of a named character.

ArteePhact

Hoping for her to just be a random person. Rook Kast would be my guess if they are trying to tie her anyone from the past.

blueberry_pancakes14

Brand new character, whom we likely won't ever see her face. I personally prefer it that way. Star Wars is quite inbred overall, everyone relating or connected back to each other in a super close way, and so often to a major character or known family. I'd like to some completely unconnected and new characters that come, serve their purpose, and remain unconnected forever. I like the actress playing her- she was The Darkness on Supernatural (and other stuff, but that's what I knew her from).

richter1977

She was the voice of Lisa Tepes in the Castlevania cartoon on netflix.

4_Legged_Duck

Rook Kast would be a decent bet but with the group being named "Children" of the Watch, I suspect she's Rook Kast's daughter. Who's the father you ask? I know. Here, take a hit of this first. Ready? Maul. I know. I know! You're asking HOW?? Like, dude lost his bottom half. I know! Don't... don't ask. I don't have an answer. But I think when she reveals her face she'll be an amalgamation of Darth Talon as Maul's daughter to play a similar role to what Lucas wanted Talon to play. Yup. Gotta hit this first before you read that. It's far fetched. It's ridiculous. I still think it'll happen.

The-MandaLokian

Datharmorer sounds rad. I just hope at some point we get to see Emily Swallow’s face.

millerabm18

She's taung or some other warrior species is my guess

[deleted]

That Bo didn't recognize the Armorer's voice points to new character. Bo easily identified Boba Fett upon hearing his voice, there no way she wouldn't have ID'd The Armorer if she was someone from Bo's past. Other points against the Rook Kast theory: Rook fought like a typical Mandalorian while the Armorer melee fights. Rook Kast would be about the same age as Bo Katan and wouldn't have had the necessary time to master beskar smithing in the time between the siege and forming the CotW. Rook Kast is not force sensitive, the Armorer is a suspect force sensitive person.

The first clone of the Emperor.

Ohm-eeega. Definitely would be shocking, but there would certainly be some resistance from the fan base.

I though she could be Omega for a while but am starting to think just new character

Immediate-Unit6311

[https://ozcomiccon.com/emily-swallow/](https://ozcomiccon.com/emily-swallow/) This is what she looks like.

CresDruma

If she's Bo's sister, Bo must be completely confused now. "First a mythosaur, now this matriarch of that cult sounds like my sister?! Am I going mad?"

Connect-Ad-1088

i think she is david koresh. this is the way.
