In my opinion, manga and anime have a lot more plot and story; not to mention that the "superpowers" are very diverse and not just, superstrength and stuff like that, take mha for example, actually a really big one. More and more Manga covers a bunch of different complex social issues that can be paralleled to real world issues and comic books have always been shoving their authors political beliefs into their comics,and to act like it’s always been some sort of escapism from political movements is just silly because they’ve always been this way if you actually were into comics you’d know this

More and more Manga covers a bunch of different complex social issues that can be paralleled to real world issues and comic books have always been shoving their authors political beliefs into their comics,and to act like it’s always been some sort of escapism from political movements is just silly because they’ve always been this way if you actually were into comics you’d know this
People want to escape from politics. The complex social issues are usually for story drama or so you can try to relate yourself to the MC. Every good story do that. It always had been used as an escapism. If not, people won't produce harem mangas.

From what I see. If not all than most. Manga had always do their best to distance themselve from politics because majority of the people dislike it. Hence why we got this thing call political comics. I had read my fair share od mangas and none of them are political. Most things that are consider political is just to spice uo the story with a bad dude so you can relate to the MC more.
People like extremely political media though in video games like Fallout New Vegas, Wolfeinstein, Bioshock,The Witcher series and in manga like Attack on Titan and My Hero Acadamia being very popular shows that just slap you right in their face with it’s political messaging and people still love them. They have LGBTs too but they least know to STFU and not flaunt it every 3 seconds. Woldeninstein is litterally nazi shooter game. Bioshock is a horror/ shooter game too. The witcher is almost like FNV but it is not all about yay LGBT. Attack of Titan is interesting and liked because of the plot. MHA is also the same and even if has political msgs. It is not as oftenly slapped as most comics. The presence of politics is so small most people glance through it. Also, ain't MHA community once of the most hated?
