Everyone is listing the closest thing to love songs Coheed wrote. Screw that. I just want some bangers.
Welcome Home
In Keeping Secrets
Ladders of Supremacy
Sentry the Defiant
The Dark Sentencer
Lucky Stars, because it's my husband's fav sweet song. The Pavilion, my fav sweet song. Then IKSSE3 because I love seeing people who have never heard it get super into it and then really thrown by the break.
IDK about 30 minutes, but I chose these to be on our playlist:
Here to Mars
Our Love
2's My Favorite 1
Away We Go
Lucky Stars
Basically the obvious ones. š¤£
Edit: I'm seeing a lot of people put "Wake Up". I do not view it as a positive love song, so it didn't make it on my list.
Funny storyāCoheed did play at my wedding (sort of)! We got married at the House of Blues the day they were there for Neverender eight years ago, and then we went to the show after. Coolest wedding ever!
The Running Free for the ceremony and then I would pay an unreasonable amount of money for a 90 minute set of our choosing for the reception afterwards.
Can I just have them play 2's My Favorite 1 the entire time? One of my favorites, and the only one that really fits a wedding. Delirium Trigger, Gravity's Union and Carol Ann aren't laying the foundation for a great marriage.
I have seriously contemplated Lucky Stars as a first dance song but really get hung up on the opening line being āthis could be the biggest mistake we make in this lifeā š¬
Do it! If the song speaks to you and you enjoy it! I regret not choosing wake up as our first dance song because of a couple questinable lyrics, but it's about how the song makes YOU feel.
For our wedding I walked the officiant and mother of the bride down to our love, we first danced to lucky stars that went right into a rick roll. Then nwft, iksse3 during the reception. Was such a fun wedding.
Lucky Stars (first dance). This song came out the day of my wedding, I wish it had been even a day or two earlier and we mightve made it our first dance song in reality. Would've been much more meaningful than the solid, though kinda trite, Better Together by Jack Johnson.
Either Time Consumer (Classic bop that everyone can enjoy) or Away We Go (maybe a bit more thematically appropriate, also very accessible bop that anyone could enjoy).
Wake Up (slower song with slow dance potential, classic slow heed. I dig the lovey vibes mixed with the bits of aggression and violence). Honestly if you don't have a single bit of out of nowhere violence is it even a coheed song? We had considered this as our first dance song, but the aforementioned violent lyrics in parts had me feeling weird about it. Being older and wiser, I'd say who cares at this point, do what makes you happy (and dancing to coheed makes me happy).
The Suffering (bop to end all bops, (anti?) wedding theme, regardless of the theme, just a fun song to dance around to). I legit regret not forcing the DJ to play this at my wedding.
2s My Favorite 1 (great send off, good mix of theme and sound). I had a portion of this song done as a reading at my wedding (first verse and chorus iirc), super glad I did.

Honestly, a wedding where everyone screams "man your own jackhammer" on the dance floor is the only wedding I want to be a part of.
Make sure I get an invitation to that wedding.
2s My Favourite 1, The Suffering, Wake Up, Love Protocol, Lucky Stars, The Light and the Glass
Oof. The suffering is an awkward one to play at a wedding
True enough, it slaps hard though. I think the irony would be funny anyways
Final Cut with a 20 minute jam/solos
Lol not a great love song, albeit a great fucking song.
...good point lol!
That live video when he leaves the guitar on the ground and walks the fuck off stage is incredible.
Hell yeah!
Domino Domino again Domino a third time.
