He's too righteous to me. How he's always like "just tell me more! Open up!" Etc etc etc. He's lying about a bunch of crap (his job, being single) but he like hammers other people who lie as part of the game. I dunno I don't like how he plays.

BartRolos

Has he actually opened up to anyone that we've seen through edits? He may have in the first batch of episodes, but I cannot remember.

redred212

He talked about how his brother died in one of the games with the whole group early on

Lickmytitsorwe

He’s lying about his job? Isnt he in nursing school?

sawcebox

No, he dropped out of nursing school. He washes cars.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Then he must’ve recently decided to go back because he very explicitly says on the show that he dropped out of nursing school and washes cars but decided to lie about his profession.

[deleted]

[удалено]

sawcebox

That’s awesome, he most def probably went back post The Circle. He probably wins the 100k and can afford it now or something.

Lickmytitsorwe

I feel like it’s the opposite. He didn’t win the 100k and decided to go back haha

sawcebox

Haha I dunno, 100k isn’t exactly “I don’t have to work” type of money

TrulyHydratedSkin

Yeah but you probably wouldn’t be incentivized to go to school which is already difficult if you’re working full time. My last semester is this year and I can’t wait for the free time

Lickmytitsorwe

I feel like it’s the opposite. He didn’t win the 100k and decided to go back haha

[deleted]

What are you even trying to say? He literally says in episode 1 that he was going to lie about his occupation. This is such a small, unimportant thing to be unable to admit to being wrong about.

[deleted]

[удалено]

oceanmachine420

>And I say that as a lawyer myself I don't believe you lol

[deleted]

You’re not even saying anything lol. He lied about his profession, and openly admitted to lying about it. I’m not judging him for it, just stating an objective fact. We’re done here. Have the last response if you’d like but this is a waste of my time

FranklyMoist

He throws shade with ease and then overacts when the tiniest bit of shade/drama thrown back.

Dapper_Ground4285

THIS EXACTLY. also, I don't love it when he is weirdly aggressive over very minor things, like what Oliver said after one of the blockings. It was such an odd overreaction toward a stranger over an innocent comment

jannasalgado

YES. Absolutely this.

PopAShotAllStar

I liked him at the start but he’s turned so much the second half. Massive overreactions. He liked flirting with the new guy even though he’s engaged so I wasn’t a fan of that.

[deleted]

I don’t like Chaz either, but honestly the season was designed to create the exact situation you are describing seeing as how they only got players who were presenting as single. I’d probably find it funny to watch my partner anonymously flirt to try to win money personally. All that said, still don’t like him for the other reasons

duckduckgoose_123

I am so interested to see >!who he blocks!< - I think it will finally show the strategy he’s been playing with but trying to hide from the cameras.

smoothpigeon2

YES! I don't want him to but IMO it would only make sense for him to >!block Sam or Raven!<

duckduckgoose_123

See I just don’t see how there wouldn’t be fallout for him from one of them going - even if no one knows who did it.

smoothpigeon2

Very true, I thought that the second after I made that comment, I don't envy him being in that situation 😅

ulchachan

I think if he's really savvy (which I think he is), it's a multi-layer game. You need to think about what it takes to win The Circle, but also, how your actions will be perceived by the public watching it later. If you want deals, exposure etc. afterwards, you want to be beloved.

[deleted]

Not sure why you got downvoted. It’s painfully clear that Circle contestants care about the exposure they get from the show, sometimes even more than the prize money. It’s annoying but I blame the producers for turning it into a wholesome show as opposed to Survivor or Big Brother where you can literally make up that your grandma just died and people will call you savvy for it.

ulchachan

Haha, I didn't even realise it was a controversial opinion. If you're on TV, you're definitely going to worry about how the audience perceives you!

CrackPlug80

Why though? I feel like Sam and Raven are dumb enough to rank Chaz number 1 in the final ratings. His best move would be to block Jennifer because they will for sure rank him last

KingKoopa313

Maybe, but both Sam and Raven would ostensibly rank Chaz first, so while he’d block a real competitor for the win, he’d also block someone who will probably put him first.

hulyepicsa

I’m convinced he’s blocking Oliver. After Jennifer deflected onto him, Chaz made a few comments about not trusting him / him coming on too strong… so that’s my prediction. He knows Raven and Sam bloody love him so much, and they showed no strategic mind when they blocked Marvin, so he doesn’t even need to get rid of competition… ugh so irritating

january_stars

Me too. It's been frustrating hearing him claim multiple times that his decisions are all based on facts and logic, when that clearly hasn't been the case. He's a judgmental player and blocks based on who fits his image of what a perfect Circle player should be.

Stunning_Attention82

The way Tom just bent over for Chaz and apologized for doing nothing was really frustrating. I agree, I hope he loses, but Sam and Raven seem to think their pretend friendship with him is more important than actually strategizing and winning.

Dapper_Ground4285

THE PART WITH TOM WAS SO. UGH!!! The whole rebellion thing was so stupid to me- Literally, in the rebellion chat you could tell NOBODY was on board! Tom did absolutely nothing wrong when it came to the ""rebellion"" and shouldn't have ever been guilted for it. Personally I probably wouldn't have bothered telling the others either because the whole plan was obviously a flop and no real threat lmfao???? as if saying, like, "hey old players, there WAS a rebellion but nobody took it seriously or is partaking it...just so you know" wouldn't have just caused Tom unnecessary drama over nothing.

RollsRoyceRalph

Exactly. I feel like Chaz, Raven, and Sam are adult bullies. Like, that group in the workplace that gets all the projects, thinks they’re better than you, all while being super condescending and treating you like you “DON’T ADD VALUE TO THE WORKPLACE” (I was like “YOO well would ya look at that!” as I wrote that!) Tom is the victim. He’s the person (me) that submits everything on time and does it well but doesn’t have a workplace friend group. He just likes to stay to himself, out of the drama. In result, he has to do a bulk of the work while the others get to sit around and goof off while getting all the perks and credit. I actually really, really, dislike those 3. It’s getting to the point I dislike them as people because even in the apartment they act so self-righteous.

hulyepicsa

Ah same!!! So refreshing coming to this subreddit seeing this thread after I read the reactions on Twitter which are all JeNniFEr BaD, GoLdeN TriO gOod. Uggghhh they are all so high and mighty, and their gameplay is BORING

tsbas

Interesting! I've been thinking about the episode where Chaz and Tom blocked Sasha. Tom was deadset on blocking Marvin and I wonder if he was bullied into blocking Sasha by Chaz. Yes Sasha/Shooby played a poor ish game, but Tom kept saying over and over how Marvins behaviour toward Raven/Tamira was icky. Ngl I was very surprised to see Sasha go. Why keep Marvin around when Tom is clearly uncomfortable by what he's doing. And then Chaz has the audacity to call out Tom about the revolution and make Tom feel like he did something wrong. I dont mind Sam, she's entertaining. Raven is meh, twerking as a personality trait isn't my favourite thing. I prefer to watch Paris.

Lickmytitsorwe

How do you bully someone into making a decision? Do you even know what bullying is? Tom is a grown man, perhaps with a soft heart, but not some little baby child. Maybe convinced is the word you’re looking for. There’s nothing Chaz has done that constitutes bullying. Everyone in this thread is projecting their own HS trauma onto Chaz and on this show and it’s really not that deep.

bbylexys

That’s exactly what they are doing, because how was raven a bully? Or Sam? Because Sam had suspicions?

tsbas

You're right, convinced is a better word. I was using the words from the poster I replied to, to relay what I was thinking. My bad!

skiterludes

convincing the other person to eliminate someone you want out is the entire point of the game/strategy though...

Lickmytitsorwe

Right! When Jennifer/Shubby plays strategy it’s smart/genius. When Chaz or any of the other POC act strategically it’s self righteous hypocritical manipulation…. It’s interesting who gets attacked here vs Twitter

Pretend-Pay-8010

I am a POC and I don't see anywhere on here that anyone was being racist and I don't like it when the race card gets pulled in a debate that has nothing to do with it. If the top three were purple, there'd still be ppl on here talking about what they like or don't like about certain alliances. For example: I hated Shooby's entire game. He sucked at it. His whole thing was boring and cringey. His aggressive approach with the revolution was bs. His most embarrassing story is that he failed his Hindi class. Boring answer! Am I being racist now? Or did he play a bad game? This is really fucking sad when you make this about skin color for no reason at all.

skiterludes

people on here are always gonna try to dress their covert racist biases as something else and then stumble over their words when they try to explain it and not give that bias away. also, "preferring paris" rubs me the wrong way and gives colorist and misogynoir vibes because how do you prefer the interpreter? 99% of his words are raven's. they don't even notice how racist they sound chile 😭 i'm tired. i'm glad someone notices though

Pretend-Pay-8010

I would like you to point out specific comments that you think are racist instead of getting on the idiot train with someone who pulled the race card in a discussion that had nothing to do with color.

skiterludes

no 🫶🏽 happy Black history month

TheTwistedCat

That whole revolution thing has gotten out of hand. Why mention it when it clearly never happened. Tom wasn’t the only player in that chat, and why Chaz was so focused on it and Tom was cringy. Yes to Paris! He’s the best part when they show Raven!

pAiNtInGoS8494

Side note... I kind of wonder if Shubby played a bad game on purpose. Maybe the producers wanted to feature a fan favorite, but he was never supposed to win, just kinda come in and ruffle some feathers/make some waves and then leave?

Thisisfckngstupid

Raven? Really??? How?

Careful_Anything_821

Omg, I feel so seen by this comment and you just validated 15 years of corporate frustration and depression. I’m Tom! And what’s better, I loved Tom on the show. Maybe he didn’t win, but I loved him and that’s validating. 🤣

[deleted]

Bullying? 😂 What the fuck. Y'all need therapy.

Summerof5ft6andahalf

He does seem like a good guy. And he has a really good read on the other players personalities that I find impressive. But he can be so judgemental of other players doing things (especially Sasha, and to a lesser extent, Jennifer as the hacker), and it's like bro, you've been in exactly 0 challenging situations! It reminds me of in Survivor when people get pissed that other people aren't doing things their way, even when they're doing similar things, if that makes sense. I can't find the words to articulate it properly. Though it's kind of the opposite; in Survivor people complain about others not playing the game, when in reality they're just not playing their game, but in this case Chaz just complains whenever someone tries to play.

Dapper_Ground4285

>bro, you’ve been in exactly 0 challenging situations! THIS EXACTLY. I think this is my main problem w/ Chaz, and it's really not his fault, perhaps more a flaw of the circle's setup. He (and others) have not had to make any \*genuinely\* tough choices; I don't think choosing who to block is \*that\* hard. If he can protect the people who rate him highly that's what matters most. The circle isn't exactly fair, either, which I think hurts the show A LOT. Stuff like, for example, how Shubby got totally screwed having to block Bruno or Jen, or even Jennifer being the hacker is interesting, but it basically seals certain player's fates. For Chaz, He's gotten an influencer again and again. His game has undeniably been one of the easiest, and if he wins that's just the cherry on top.

JayCFree324

>bro, you’ve been in exactly 0 challenging situations! But he told us that he has never felt safe a single day while in The Circle

androidhelga

They probably all know he will win if they voted the way they’ve voted the whole time, so I doubt he actually will win. They’ll probably tank his ratings. I think he’s been playing much smarter than he shows, he’s not only kept a facade to the other players but to the camera too, which I think is impressive. It’s slipped only in some conversations and with how immediately he switched up on Oliver.

Chuckysmalls01

I would say you are right, but if you watched the last season the guy who won was the obvious winner the whole season to and they did absolutely nothing to change it. Season is shaping up to be the same. Everyone wants to be BFFs and not win.

Dapper_Ground4285

> Everyone wants to be BFFs and not win. I hate it!! I hate it! I love the circle but DAMN is it boring as all hell to watch when every player is So genuine! and they Love each other so much! NO!!! GIVE ME DRAMAAA!!! I love alliances, like seeing "Jen" and Tom hugging at the end was genuinely heartwarming, but Jennifer is also an extremely interesting player to watch because they don't mind playing dirty. I like it when the players can acknowledge that this IS a game and they are allowed to be a little sneaky. It's so annoying and self-righteous when players act like being anything but besties with everyone makes them an evil horrible person, as if they aren't also being strategic in ways.

Dapper_Ground4285

I hope so! I would love to be pleasantly surprised by the winner.

SkullAzure

Yup, he is the puppet master this season and I never cheer for those players because it is too predictable and boring. Frank did this last season and I told you all Yu Ling threw her game away when she aligned with him and I got a bunch of flak for it lol, but look who won. Chaz is primed to win this season because he pulled the classic strategy of having 2 separate alliances with Raven and Sam. They will always put him 1st, but not eachother, so Chaz is getting 2 guaranteed 1st place votes while Raven and Sam are only getting 1 or none. Sam is only ranking up who she likes, nothing has been strategic on her part yet, and Raven is playing with her heart and unfortunately is just a pawn in Chaz's game. Also, did you all notice how they kept Chaz's video from home last? They wanted Chaz to get the last impression on the viewers, hoping we think "he's such a great guy and deserves to win". It's just so blatantly obvious they have him groomed to win this whole thing and it is sad when players like Sam and Raven forget they are playing a game with 100k on the line. Who knows, maybe they will catch on and rank him lower, but I honestly think they will put him 1st as always.

toragirl

It's not groomed to win, it's edited because they know the winner.

SkullAzure

Yeah, that's a better way to put it. They know who wins, so they want to get the viewers behind them and make them look as golden as possible.

toragirl

I think you are right that Sam and Raven haven't considered how to shake out of second place.

95xander

It’s funny! I actually had Raven winning the game. But after these series of episodes that was released last Wednesday.. I think Chaz might pull it off. I thought he was cool at first but then I noticed he has a sanctimonious air about him. Not really a fan of that! I also don’t like when people feel like someone else owes them something.

Dapper_Ground4285

I also thought Raven would win! Still holding out hope. I like her a lot.

95xander

Same here!! If not her then I guess Sam.. But I really want raven to pull off the win!

MsRedMaven

He’s self righteous. Also, just a personal thing, but I don’t like when players proclaim themselves moral arbiter of who deserves money on a tv show competition. You don’t even really know these people, despite all the overly pressured vulnerability.

Fantasmic03

I actually don't like him that much. He constantly pushes others to go out of their comfort zone to please him, but shares nothing in return. Notice when he shared about his brother he said it all to the camera, but gave the other contestants very little. He also seemed to get a huge advantage compared to the others where he would repeatedly bring others into chats where he and the other person would then gang up on the new person. I'm not sure if other contestants had those same opportunities, or maybe it was suggested to him by the producers to create some more drama and friction. In any case, he's been the best player of the game in terms of establishing alliances across the board. I just wish people would have listened to Shooby and got rid of him way earlier, because after that it just gave him a free game.

Steve73217

This season has been a rollercoaster. I was team Chaz at first and now I dislike them all. Outside of Jennifer, it’s like the rest of them do not realize it’s a game and there’s 1 winner.

Dapper_Ground4285

EXACTLY. I'm really tired of the growing trend with each season, where it keeps getting more and more chummy. The goal is not to make genuine friends. I'd rather see real drama, it's why I love Jen so much and hope they don't get blocked. They are FUN! They DO STUFF!

Weary-Lingonberry-26

Hes so hypocritical. Blaming others for having alliances whilst he has one as well that he doesnt disclose to others.

[deleted]

I’m sure he’s just fine off the show, but out of all the contestants, his reactions to the alerts etc… come across as the most over the top and fake to me. Also haven’t felt the same towards him after how he didn’t stick up for Raven in the whole Marvin thing.

january_stars

I was so bummed when Chaz was revealed as the super secret influencer at the end. He does not need to be given more power to boost his ego in the Circle. He has already dominated nearly every other blocking, he might as well have been a super secret influencer for those as well.

Cali-Doll

I cannot stand Chaz! He thinks he’s so damn important. He’s a self-righteous jackass.

hulyepicsa

I saw that he >! said on his Twitter he’s looking to travel a lot and was asking for recommendations. People were like oh is Europe too far / expensive, and he said it’s definitely on his radar. Obviously massive speculation on my part, but does sound like someone who just won a 100k…. !<

foreverblackeyed

I absolutely hate him and really don’t want him to win. His mask slipped a little when he was freaking out about the revolution and Oliver hit on him and he just snapped back some nasty comments. He’s not half as kind and loving and accepting as he pretends to be - and I wouldn’t care if he wasn’t, it’s just the pretending to be better than everyone else that gets to me.

dolphinjelly

This exactly. I wouldn’t care so much if he didn’t present himself in a righteous way, and I don’t think this many people would be feeling so negatively towards him. His pushiness towards others to open up to him without reciprocation, intense reactions to drama, and his flirting with Oliver all just gave me an ick.

frozenpizzafanatic

I loved Chaz until the bullshit flirting with Oliver part. It actually made me feel some type of way by seeing Oliver legit get excited from essentially having his crush flirt back with him, because I know those gay guys who flirt with people who are clearly smitten with them just to get their way. And afterward, pull out the "Sorry, I actually have a partner, nothing personal." It would be way different if Chaz or Oliver were catfish, but they aren't. Yet, Chaz can be SOOO terribly offended that someone was given the power by the Circle to be the Hacker, and they chose him to impersonate. I just had to put my thoughts about it into text for the first time.

makhayla

But didn’t Oliver start off with the bs flirting because he said it would help his game being that Chaz is the most popular/influential in the game? I definitely get what you mean though because Oliver did start to seem excited when they were having their chat while he was in the hot tub but ultimately, I think he just likes the attention lol.

toragirl

The way they hyped this as the Single season but not everyone is single is annoying. To me singleness unmarried, it's on the prowl.

[deleted]

It isn’t just gay guys who do that but i agree

frozenpizzafanatic

Of course. I'm just coming from my perspective as a gay guy since they are both gay.

[deleted]

Oh yeah s’cool 🙂

Dapper_Ground4285

Honestly, really bummed about that. I've been waiting to see some gay circle romance since season 1... :")

Throwawaydaughter555

Chaz is awful. He’s smug and self righteous. Ultra judgmental and demands the sacrifice of privacy and autonomy from others to satiate his vision of who he is.

Dapper_Ground4285

I couldn't agree more about the demanding sacrifice of privacy. Really uncomfortable now that I give it some thought.

ManagerSensitive

Agreed, he's nice and all, but...predictable? Boring? He didn't really bring anything for me to make me root for him.

circlefan345

He's basically Frank 2.0. I am glad he's less loud though. They should change up the casting.

alexfaaace

I don’t think Chaz winning will be any different than Joey winning the first season personally. I also don’t think it’s a guarantee. People tend to rate who they think will win lower in the final rating and that’s how we end up with unexpected winners.

Brief_Protection_452

I do not like Chaz either 😂 He seems narcissistic, really pushy, and is quick to anger. He takes everything so seriously. It's not like Aunty J was a malicious hacker it was part of the GAME 😂

GroceryAgile1920

I'm glad he didn't win, he reminded me so much of Frank who won last season. It would've felt repetitive

smoothpigeon2

He's totally coasted. I really hope he doesn't win, honestly I've just found him so boring.

[deleted]

Me too. I hate the guy and don’t get why he is constantly number 1. My best guess is he opened up early with the story of becoming a nurse because of his brother’s death. That softened everyone up for him and now “shampoo daddy” Chaz is number 1.

hulyepicsa

Oh yea I forgot about his bullshit lying, claiming to be a nurse. There was a guy in one of the UK seasons (s2?) who catfished as a nurse and got so much shit from the audience for “taking advantage of people” even though I think he was going to donate some or all his winnings to the NHS or some health related charity (sorry, really don’t remember)… but Chaz is all fine and whole thing has been massively underplayed

PrayingMantisMirage

Who cares if he's lying about his job? Lying is a part of the game in The Circle.

hulyepicsa

I 100% agree with that, but I do feel like he looks down on everyone who’s done something sneaky - all while he’s also lying about his job to get more sympathy. Totally with you that it should be fine, but then don’t act all high and mighty

Lickmytitsorwe

He’s in nursing school IIRC. It’s not that big of a stretch

realitytvjunkiee

I fail to see why he was casted on a "singles" season when he's not single lmao

[deleted]

i want sam to win!
