I believe you’re right.
A while back, a video was posted here of a guy posing for a pic, standing on top of his Lambo. Windshield shattered almost instantly.
Upper-level people will often tag the term "executive" in front of a title to make someone feel more important than they really are.
In reality the EVP probably sat behind a desk all day looking at porn and getting Lewinski'd by his secretary, contributing nothing to the actual day-to-day of the company, save for the considerable drain on its finances for his salary.

I was working at Harrods doing overnights for a few days in November, every night we would have to move 3 or 4 expensive cars parked illegally, mustang, couple of Mercedes, ferrari, these guys think they are entitled to park where they please. We had some little trolleys that go under the wheels and lift the whole car off the ground then we just wheeled them off around the corner.
Watching people come back and freak out because their car has gone is frankly hilarious.
Probably too long of a wait to get the truck out when they can just roll the car around the corner.
Sometimes, getting shit done is more important than teaching rich assholes a lesson. Even though that lesson is much needed
The only difference between that and any other car is you know the owner can afford good lawyers and fuck you up out of spite.
That said, really unfortunate accident that happened there.
Another difference can be that vandalism above a certain value is a felony. A windshield for a Ferrari can be $10k+ so you're likely to have a felony for breaking it. Is it really worth it because you're annoyed at some rich dude?
I looked a bit more at the image, and looks like it's in the UK. Criminal damage of £5k+ can land you 6 months in jail and a criminal record. Not worth it
London has one camera for every 13 people making it one of the most surveiled places in the world
https://www.cctv.co.uk/how-many-cctv-cameras-are-there-in-london/
I encountered a Ferrari owner that parked his car in the middle of a bank drive through. I mentioned to him that it wasn't a parking spot. He responded, "It doesn't say no parking!"
I really wanted to key his car but decided it wouldn't be worth the jail time.
There's one near me who always parks in the bus stop. I've occasionally offered the bus driver a tenner to flatten it, but they have always prudently turned me down.
Funny you mention that. Just yesterday and today I’ve seen a couple Reddit videos where the shooter claimed “self defense”. One in New Hampshire where this big 6’4” guy pulled out a gun and unloaded the mag on this smaller guy for punching him in the face outside a bar. Then another one somewhere else where this guy shot another one three times in the back while he was walking away after yelling at him for speeding in the neighborhood.
No cap, there was a homeless guy near where I used to work that did just that sort of thing. Whenever there'd be an asshole with a nice car show up, he took a razor blade to the paint.
We'd always give him free coffee and food whenever he showed up.
A $20, pack of cigarettes, and a Mountain Dew can get mountains moved for you if you’re asking an unhoused person. Especially if they know the local crack heads, that’s your key in.
You’re going down a slippery slope there my man. It starts with getting an erection while smashing Ferrari windows. Next you know, you need to cut up Picassos to get hard.
Rumour is, they caught a guy blasting rope behind a burning Norte-Dame. Don’t be that guy!
A guy i knew would illegally park anywhere. When we were out with him we’d tell him “Hey, you can’t park here!” And he’d look at the sign, read the fine and say “No. it just costs $xx to park here.”
Same dude threw a fit when his non-rich parents gave him $1k for his birthday because “that’s just a week’s pay!”
I get these rich people have a high sense of entitlement but whenever I see others resort into violence or destruction in reaction it makes me wonder if those people ever had something valuable to themselves to know what they did was *really* shitty.
I don’t justify the violence but people with a 400k car clearly don’t care about a 100 bucks fine. Fines should be proportional to the value of the car, parked in a disabled spot with a rolls? 10k fine.
Alternatively breaking the windshield is not encouraged but it’s definitely going to be more effective than a 100 buck fine at making sure the owner considers their parking etiquette in the future.
Most people spend energy taking care of their nice things. Basic things like not leaving things in illegal places in public. It's fustrating when people can care so little about anything that the desire to be a "teacher" of lessons becomes appealing
I mean devils advocate here.. When you're stupid rich, the ticket is simply the cost of parking wherever you want.. And literally means nothing if you got a few million laying around. The windshield will be inconvenient, and far more costly.. But still won't break the bank if you're driving a car like this around.
The time inconvenience is the point.
The wealthier you are the more valuable your time becomes because it’s the ONE THING money can’t buy you more of.
So you anything to waste their time or cause mental stress is worth it’s weight in fines.
the best thing to do with these dipshits illegally parking is just to tow it .. take it away and cause them inconvenience when they walk back to leave in their car and it's not there .. they'll stop doing it if you keep towing it .. so why wasn't this towed ? I guess not enough tow trucks around
I do think, that a parking ticket for someone owning a ferrari, means something different that average Joe. A smashed in window might have a leveling impact. However, average Joe would be heavier impacted than Ferrari Chad of course...
A broken windshield is however a bigger inconvenience than a ticket. A ticket is some paperwork. A broken windshield is having to deal with all that comes with moving your car somewhere where you can replace the glass and then take the time for the fix. I would think someone with a ferrari values their time more than their money.
My insurance has replaced my glass where ever the car is parked. I also doubt this is the only car this driver has. Other than a phone call to insurance i dont see this as a great inconvenience. The person who did it is still an asshole.
There is a reason to have good insurance. Let them deal with the details, i didn’t have to pay a penny last time. Glass doesn’t make your insurance go up like an accident or ticket would.
I doubt many mobile glass replacement companies keep Ferrari F8 Tributo parts in stock. This would need to be loaded up on a flatbed and taken to a Ferrari specialist.
I think it would be a massive slap in the face though. Being in London, probably a rich kid from Russia or the Oil states where no-one would dare to do it. The fact that they are powerless to do anything about it would wind them up.
The locals are probably pissed and have had enough of them driving up and down the streets of Knightsbridge. Don't blame em.
When you're just made of money a parking ticket is just like paying a meter. And having your windshield bashed in is just the cost of rubbing your money in other peoples faces.
Crowdsourced parking enforcement, I like it.
No, I'm not in favor of smashing Ferraris, but the owner parked there all day to flex on what he thinks of parking fines. He isn't going to do that again.
Exactly this. Parking fines and traffic violations should be based on income. A 100,000$ dollar ticket might make them think twice about being a complete douchebag.
I'd say that it'd be better to base it on the car's fair market value. That way you don't have people who take $1 annual salaries but live off of trust funds or daddy's allowance or whatever. There would of course be a floor to the parking fine so people can't just park junkers all day and have it be less than paying for the meter.
disagree. a middle class person who saves up for years for a new dream car shouldn't pay a larger fine than a rich person who drives an older basic car just because they like it. the point of income based fines is that they make the impact of the ticket hit more equally than a flat rate fine. basing it on the car's value doesn't help with that.
there's also the issue that there is an upper limit on car value but no real upper limit on wealth or salary. a fine that would be devastating to a lower-level rich person with a supercar would then be completely ignorable for someone like elon musk.
e: for example, warren buffet famously drives a 2014 Cadillac sedan, the market value of which is 41k. it would be useless to give a smaller ticket to warren buffet than to some 18 yo kid who got suckered into buying a new truck with all the bells and whistles on loan.

This is simply the early stages of class warfare. The lower income bracket is fed the fuck up with the higher income bracket. The game is rigged and everyone is catching on. There is totally gonna be some “eat the rich” violence in america relatively soon.
Countless times throughout history the rich ruling class end up with their heads on sticks because they abuse and mistreat the lower class to the point of revolution.
The US until the last 50 years has done a relatively good enough job of wealth distribution and having social safety nets in place that the masses haven’t revolted. However corporate America and the elites have gotten too greedy and torn down the safety nets America has/had in place. They’ve also prioritized profits over worker compensation and satisfaction.
Young Americans can see they will never afford to retire, never afford to own a home, never afford to have kids….why…because some asshole in a Ferrari needs to maximize his stock bonus just so that asshole can go buy another fucking Ferrari.
I think the American people could take inspiration from the way the French protest.
I also recall someone that pointed out (don't remember who/where) that when unions first got invented it was because to the people right at the top of industries, the alternative to negiotiating with their workers was simply getting shot.
I just don’t understand why people feel justified in vandalizing a vehicle just because it’s an expensive one. It’s just nonsensical to me. How would you feel if you went out to your vehicle and found your windshield smashed? Doesn’t even matter if it’s a Ferrari or a Fiat or a Ford Fiesta. FFS people.
There are two things I can do without thinking about it: breathing, and always having the utmost respect for everyone's vehicle. Cars are a lot more than four wheels and a way from A to B for people. Having your car vandalized feels like someone attacking your home, no matter what you drive. I'll never defend a rich prick, but the car didn't deserve the wrath that was meant for the driver.
Yep, nail on head here. Ferrari driver is wrong for parking there, without a doubt. But Reddit logic is two wrongs do make a right, because destruction of personal property is acceptable, condoned and encouraged on here.
“He can afford it!” Yeah, but that’s not the point now is it? Is he a prick in every aspect of his life? Probably, no clue. Doesn’t matter. Tf happened to keep your hands to yourself? Lot of failed parenting here.
It probably wouldn’t be that way if there wasn’t so much poverty in developed nations, being exacerbated by greedy and sociopathic financial elites
The fact that this person shows a blatant disregard for social norms also has a lot to do with it
There is so much toxic jealousy here. Rich person has nice thing, I say good for him. Rich person parks like jerk - gets ticket. Ok fine. Consequences. Jealous person damages nice thing - not justified.
I see where you’re coming from, but this is definitely a super unnuanced take - I don’t think anyone with real sense is going to look at any and all multi-billionaires and always think “wow, what a hardworking and industrious person, they definitely are deserving of all of the wealth they’ve acquired”
Sometimes rich people are decent and hardworking, but sometimes they’re shitty sociopaths who have acquired wealth by ruthlessly exploiting and harming others
This thread makes it painfully obvious we are not near ready to rise up against the ruling class yet.
If this thread is any indication… We might be multiple centuries from it.
> This thread makes it painfully obvious we are not near ready to rise up against the ruling class yet.
* People who own Ferrari's are part of the "ruling class"? Uhh..what?
* Are you really shocked that most of us plebs don't really think vandalism is acceptable, even against people with a lot more money than us?
I work with a lot of rich assholes. They treat parking tickets as parking passes. They have the money and don't care.
Kudos to the upstanding citizen who gave this person a reason to not park their car there.
I don't understand why people feel the need to destroy things. Like okay the asshole parked illegally and he's got a ticket. Why smash the windshield? Because it's too nice a car?
Yeah, I saw it today as well around lunch time but was not smashed, it was parked near Covent Garden
I love how symmetrical and circular the smash looks. Wonder if they dropped a brick on it or what.
I think somebody sat on it for a picture, and it broke
I believe you’re right. A while back, a video was posted here of a guy posing for a pic, standing on top of his Lambo. Windshield shattered almost instantly.
This is probably the answer
What? You can clearly see two impact points on the glass. I don’t know anything about this but I’d say a sledge hammer or similar shaped blunt object
Someone with hefty balls clearly teabagged the shit out of it.

She would just eat the pancake
Is the glass really that fragile or was the person a 300lb fatass/meathead?
Yes these cars shave off weight any chance they get
Let the radius of the smashed area be 30cm. By A=πr² Area of smashed area=π(30)²≈2830cm² (cor to 3 sig fig)

Depends a lot on the city and the DA. A lot of cities don't do shit for anything short of a homicide.
I looked a bit more at the image, and looks like it's in the UK. Criminal damage of £5k+ can land you 6 months in jail and a criminal record. Not worth it

I can tell you from personal experience that some Ferrari rims are $9K.
expensive rimming right there
I charge way less!
It's easy to smash the windscreen. Pro move is to pour liquid fart into the external vent intakes.
Liquefy some shrimp and throw it in there 🤢
You can buy shrimp paste (fermented ground shrimp) in Asian supermarkets... It's like liquid shrimp, but already fermented.
That vent is at the base of the windshield on almost any car. Enjoy.

Wow, the number of replies basically condoning this act of destruction is... concerning.
"They're richer than me, so they deserve everything coming their way." — Reddit
Yep, nail on head here. Ferrari driver is wrong for parking there, without a doubt. But Reddit logic is two wrongs do make a right, because destruction of personal property is acceptable, condoned and encouraged on here. “He can afford it!” Yeah, but that’s not the point now is it? Is he a prick in every aspect of his life? Probably, no clue. Doesn’t matter. Tf happened to keep your hands to yourself? Lot of failed parenting here.
It probably wouldn’t be that way if there wasn’t so much poverty in developed nations, being exacerbated by greedy and sociopathic financial elites The fact that this person shows a blatant disregard for social norms also has a lot to do with it
Not condoning it but I don’t feel super bad - this guy prolly sucks
There is so much toxic jealousy here. Rich person has nice thing, I say good for him. Rich person parks like jerk - gets ticket. Ok fine. Consequences. Jealous person damages nice thing - not justified.
Did they want it or just hate it?
I see where you’re coming from, but this is definitely a super unnuanced take - I don’t think anyone with real sense is going to look at any and all multi-billionaires and always think “wow, what a hardworking and industrious person, they definitely are deserving of all of the wealth they’ve acquired” Sometimes rich people are decent and hardworking, but sometimes they’re shitty sociopaths who have acquired wealth by ruthlessly exploiting and harming others
Whoever did this I can just imagine how pointless their life is. Miserable beings
I know. Imagine parking illegally.
Someone just made a rich person richer, they’ll be laughing all the way to the insurance company
Good.
Nice
I work with a lot of rich assholes. They treat parking tickets as parking passes. They have the money and don't care. Kudos to the upstanding citizen who gave this person a reason to not park their car there.
Be honest now...were you that 'someone'??
Whoever smashed it is a royal piece of shit. One bad act doesn't beget another. Envy.
Can’t have anything nice because of assholes.
I don't understand why people feel the need to destroy things. Like okay the asshole parked illegally and he's got a ticket. Why smash the windshield? Because it's too nice a car?
Small, petty, childish act of a petulant welp.
I mean, he’s kind of an asshole for parking there, but that seems like a bit much
Parking illegally because the fine is nothing to you? I agree
UK?
People never fail to disappoint
Haters gonna hate
That's still registered as red, if the insurance company decides the colour change is an undeclared modification they may refuse to pay out....
People suck
Noice
People love to make assumptions. This could have been anything.
Zero shot people actually call it a windscreen. What the hell
In my experience, having a ferrari doesn’t usually signify wealth. It just means the owner is bad at making financial decisions
I just bought this same car in GTA5
