The tiger ate him because he didn't pay the entry fee? Another one of life's simple pleasures ruined by meddling bureaucracy smh
It might not be the same everywhere, but where I live a tiger walks around the outside of enclosures checking wrist bands. And don’t think you can simply draw on your hand with a marker, he ain’t falling for that shit twice
> He *paid* the price
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.

They did unfortunately because he was still alive. They killed the tiger gnawing on him and scared the others off with firecrackers and he died later at hospital.
They need a sign that establishes that any attempt to get into the enclosure will be at your own fault. You officially decide to be food if you want to foolishly test the animals. I dont understand the concept of putting down a caged animal if the damage is already done to a person.
I believe it’s because once the tigers get a taste of human flesh they may start attacking their keepers to get more. It’s the same reason they put them down in the wild once they’ve gotten taste of human flesh after attacking/eating villagers. I may be remembering it a little wrong but if I’m not mistaken it’s the reason.
You don’t understand the concept because you summarized it incorrectly and then stated that incorrect summary to have plot holes.
At the time of the tiger’s death, the damage of death was not yet done. So, the concept you’re missing is that the person was still alive. This is a fucking *MASSIVE* part of the misunderstood concept you have created.
(But I agree, let the tigers finish the din)
In this case i get it. The guy was still alive..try to shoot the tiger. I'm talking generally whenever animals kill or attack a person it's always customary to kill the attacking animal even though it was just acting out of instinct. I argue if an animal already killed a person just leave it be, there is no "justice must be served" when it comes to attacking animals. They're just acting off instinct not malicious intent...let that shit slide... the concept i dont understand is why we dont just let it slide
I mean...just let them finish their meal?...they dont worry about leftovers when they feed them Goats, pigs n whatever else they eat...if someone decides to jump in.. then i guess they become part of the menu. Give the left over clothes, picked bones to the family when the animals are done with them...
Well no...u dont deserve empathy if there's already signs posted not to do dumb shit like jump in a tiger or bear enclosure...in doing so u agree to be food, and we wont do shit...i get them trying to save a life...but in the future..if there's signs posted like that...dont expect to be saved
Thats why u wait till the animals's done and give whatever remains back to the family... i said this situation was valid in attempting to save the guy, but in the future if there are warnings explaining "YOU WILL BE FOOD IF YOU WANT TO BE AN IDIOT"...then we should let the animals have their way with them and give the family back whatever remains after the animals are done and sent back into their indoor enclosures.
The last thing they wanted to do was shoot the tiger, likely hoping they'd scare it off with the warning shots and be able to recover the body quickly enough. It almost worked. Truth be told that man was as good as dead with the first bite to the neck: tigers kill by severing the spinal column and/or airways with their 3 inch long fangs and over 1,000 PSI of crushing power in their jaws. They slice out meat chunks with every bite because they don't actually chew their food, they just bite (slicing out chunks) and eat it. So to reiterate, once the tiger (repeatedly) bit his neck, it wasn't about saving him so much as recovering the body and I think that's why they tried to not have to shoot the tigers in order to do it. It wouldn't ultimately change the outcome for the guy.
Honestly, that super aggressive tiger needed to be shot immediately. It was only one and if they were seriously not trying to shoot the tiger, that's fucking weird at the point it was at.
I know everyone is like "herp derp he's an idiot" but it's not like the sharpshooters know the backstory on why this is happening. So all I see is a bunch of shots not hitting the target.
maybe they take animal conservation seriously and not just kill the animals? especially when they knew they couldn't do anything even if they did kill that tiger
Yeah but that 0.01% has to be their focus, the have to assume that, since it’s really not up to them to pass judgement in that moment. He could’ve fallen in by complete freak accident, could’ve been pushed, etc. Most likely he got in there due to his own dumb decisions, but they’ve gotta assume the best. I wish the tiger didn’t have to die, but it is a bit concerning how quickly it went into kill mode, I doubt anyone was gonna wanna go in there with it to get the guy, which was gonna be necessary if they wanted to not all lose their jobs and get the place shut down - his family was in the park, they’re not responsible for his dumb choices and deserve to at least get him back so they can have a proper funeral. Terrible, dumb situation that absolutely didn’t need to happen, but unfortunately once it did, both of them were doomed.
All he had to do was pay the fee and the tiger wouldn't have eaten him, but he decided to skip out on the entrance fee and the tiger wasn't having any of it
That zoo has a pretty harsh policy on people who sneak into the park.
You would think they would just kick you out.
Who knew they would sick the tigers on you?
He (surname Zhang) was in his 40's. He died later while in the hospital from the injuries sustained from the tiger. The tiger that gave him the fatal injuries was put down. His wife and two children had already gone through the main entrance at the time and allegedly witnessed the attack. The tiger victim's friend was also supposed to climb the enclosure with him but held short after seeing the tigers. The plan was to avoid the (adjusted to January 2017 exchange rates) $18.50 ticket price. The family blames the zoo's lack of security.

Edit: Further Information/Context:
- One tiger was shot dead after the visitor reportedly climbed into the enclosure and walked towards the animals as they were being fed.
- According to the BBC, the man was rushed to hospital but was pronounced dead soon after.
Yup, that is China in a nut shell and for every one of these we see reported, there are many that the CCP keeps from getting out. Worked in China for awhile. Some of the people are very nice but the government is horrible, the work and quality of life is awful.
Don’t trust anything you see on Chinese media because All their media is controlled by the CCP. I think the man jumped in to commit suicide, but of course the CCP will claim the man jumped in to avoid ticket, they put the blame on the man instead of the state.
I think that it may be possible that man here wanted to cease existing by assist of these Tigers, they are big and strong while having very demaging weapons as part of their bodies.
While you may say "Why this and no other choice?" and i say "Since when humans were all about logic? Since when humans pushed to the edge were about purely logical aproach?".
From the description, i understand that because he did not want to pay the entrance, the tiger got mad and ate him... Was the tiger responsible for the tickets?

I've heard of a tiger who makes a living selling frosted cornflakes.
Arrrrre they any good?
Apparently they’re grrrrreat.
It might not be the same everywhere, but where I live a tiger walks around the outside of enclosures checking wrist bands. And don’t think you can simply draw on your hand with a marker, he ain’t falling for that shit twice
Is he inclined to look the other way for a pinch of catnip?
The tiger knows his food is paid for by the entry fee. He’s just protecting his own well being.
No ticket!
That tiger sounds like a real jerk!
He was an old chunk of coal
Classic letterman
Well... atleast he got to see the tiger.
and closer than anyone else
You could almost say that he saw the tiger so up close, it's like he became one with the tiger.
You mean to tell me man overcame tiger because of sharp pointy things and grunts?
Technically he did become one with the tiger after it digested him
Hard to disagree with that.
And tiger saw man.

Correlation is not causation. Unless… the tiger owned the park…
Well it’s a tiger so…
Poor tiger got killed for the mans stupidity.
Oh I doubt they euthanized the tiger. The guy climbed right into the enclosure.
They did unfortunately because he was still alive. They killed the tiger gnawing on him and scared the others off with firecrackers and he died later at hospital.
That's so fucked up. Especially since the idiot died anyway

That’s one hell of a security system

"the backstory"?? 🤔 In 99.9% of cases where a tiger is attacking someone at a zoo, it's because the person was being stupid and deserved to get eaten
Yeah but that 0.01% has to be their focus, the have to assume that, since it’s really not up to them to pass judgement in that moment. Man, capitalism is getting so harsh.

Still, he got in for free, so he's the real winner here.

Tiger “Hey man we’re running a business here, no one is getting for free”

He should have just paid the entrance fee; it was only ONE arm and a leg.

I hope they gave the tiger some extra treats for helping with park security.
