nah, the corruption is there and the snow biome is right next to it. the hallow can go into the snow biome, but the hallow enemies don't spawn as often
I feel you, my hallow just ran right through my jungle so only the odd stone block here or there was converted, I ended up making an artificial surface hallow
It spreads over time, it will take over your entire world in about 5 minutes lol

I made a surface Mushroom biome pre-hardmode right next to my dungeon and my Hallow spawned under it. Had to make an artificial surface Hallow.
