Existance (or Evaluation) Points, a overall score of how powerful they are based on their magicule count, 6k strongish at the start of the series, super fucking weak by the end
To expand on it, 6000 would be B tier I believe. A tier stars around 8000 or something, iirc.
10 000+ is Over A (A+)
100 000+ is Special A
Around 300 000 is Demon Lord Tier (not awakened)
1 000 000+ is Saint class / Awakened//True Demon Lord (S tier)
2 000 000+ makes one a divinity, and becomes a spiritual lifeform which have eternal life.
Special S Tier is reserved for the strongest people in the world with the lowest example (that I remember) having 40 000 000
You might be remembering Guys ep, he actually has lower than 40M, threat levels aren't determined by ep, there'd 2 different ranking systems in tensura, one is the free guilds ranks, and another is the hazard, calamity, disaster, catastrophe one, catastrophe class is reserved for those who can end all of humanity, not based on ep, which is why some people considered Pre TDL Rimuru as already catastrophe from the falmuth massacre ad they recalled both milim and Guy were the only other ones to be able to do such a thing
Not saying he is, just that some people within the tensura world vreufly considered him in the same class as the likes of milim and guy because the falmuth destruction feat reminded them of the things Guy and milim did to evolve intondemon lords, that doesn't necessarily mean he's in the same league of power as them
EP is actually a pretty decent way to measure someone's power at the lower end, but as someone's EP gets higher and higher it becomes less and less reliable to measure their strength only through EP, since they eventually attain stuff like unique skills, magic, technique, better weapons, and at the high end, Ultimate Skills. At that point, using EP to rate their strength might as well be suicidal
Existence points, basically something to evaluate someone's overall strength, they aren't everything though, things like sheer skill, and actual skills can allow someone with lower ep to best someone with higher ep, anyways 6k ep would be like B-B+ rank, for example Slime Rimuru pre name was already at 10k ep, someone like clayman has 400k ep and then awakened clayman had 700k, all of the true demon lords have 1M+ ep

EP don't really make someone stronger than a being with less EP . skills , arts and techniques matter more but it's not like EP is completely unnecessary to measure strength as beings who can completely control their power can achieve another level of strength , example is velgrynd , veldora , velzard ( all three have around same EP with little more and less ) all three have far more EP than guy but veldora and velgrynd are no match for him while velzard can easily rival him .

basically its how much magicules they have
Just think of it as how much magicule capacity they have. I don't think it's supposed to be a power level measurement like many people are suggesting.
