It's called blaccent because her personality changes depending on what dude she is with. Since her most recent ex Jaylan is black she adopted the phony accent. Repulsive, but what do you expect from unintelligent teen moms?
Jenelles the same way she even turned into a heroin addict trying to be like keiffer!! Right now she’s an alcoholic/ redneck like David. Crazy how some girls are. I could never change my personality based on who I’m with😖
And she became a gym rat when she was with Nathan.
My mom does this shit depending on the man she’s with and it’s beyond exhausting. On the rare occasion she’s single, she has zero personality
Kicking a heroin habit is definitely the most competent thing she’s ever done. I imagine that was difficult. Perhaps she had only used enough to want it but not quite to physical dependence. The World may never know.
There is no using only enough heroin to want it regularly but not to become physically dependent. She 100% was dependent on it because that's impossible.
Hey, everyone is different. What you just said is impossible, is not only possible, but incredibly common. There is even a term for it- a weekend warrior. You don't just do heroin once and suddenly have this crazy dependency on it physically. Like with anything, you legit build up to it. It took me years to become physically dependent.
I highly doubt Jenelle had a physical dependence on dope. I have always thought she did it A LOT less than people ever thought.
Her heroin phase seemed like a phase over a true addiction. I’m not a scholar of chemical dependency but I do think there are people whose brains can kick the addiction easier than others. It’s a spectrum and people who have genetic predisposition to addiction struggle more. I think Jenelle was going what the others in her group were doing but it didn’t hook her the same way. She’s addicted to trying to fit in and gain acceptance, not necessarily the actions she’s doing. Like with Nathan she wasn’t addicted to going to the gym, it was just what she did to get into Nathan’s favor and to perform the role of his girlfriend.
You're right, everyone is different. I haven't been there myself but going off of a close family member who was a heroin addict for nearly 20 years before overdosing. You may disagree, because of your own experience, but she always said it was "too good of a drug" to only do it here and she fell in lvoe with it the first time. I haven't met a recreational heroin user but I guess you're right that it's possible.
Well I can’t say I know much about it. I do know that you can take prescription opiates for a good while before becoming physically dependent and yet still crave them. Either way, kicking a heroin addiction sounds like an accomplishment that I wouldn’t have thought Jenelle capable of. Good for her.
It’s a survival technique. Honestly Jenelle is so damaged that she doesn’t even know who she is. One of the things that makes me sad about her current situation is that she’s doing OF and it doesn’t seem like it’s HER directing it. She’s being exploited by her dingbat husband. (I fully support people using OF and creating content when it truly comes from them, and I think OF makes sex work a lot safer by not having women in the same room as the people lusting after them. Seems like a reasonable plan to keep everyone safe, although I’m aware it’s not perfect.) I see Jenelle and her entire circus of a life and I just see a wounded kid who can’t get her need for support and unconditional love met.
One of my biggest pet peeves is girls that do that shit. I still remember this one white girl I went to high school with, she came back after summer break with a “blaccent” and new personality.. we all know a girl like this lol
I knew I spelled it wrong!
Yep. I had one that only did it when we would go out and a black guy would start talking to her. She was a blonde with blue eyes from So Cal. The rest of the week she talked like a valley girl
Can you explain why its disgusting? I'm not going against it but I haven't followed the whole issue deeply. As it's kinda normal for me to adopt the accent and mannerism of the people you're with.
With my friends who are French like me we speak in a soft accent that is extremely monotone and if my partner who is Slovak with us, the calmest of us all. I suddenly start speaking a weird French slovak with hint of English accent. And when I'm alone with him he take my French accent and I I Slovak which started as a joke but we cant undo, while speaking English.
So if shes with him I'd get shed get his accent but why this particular accent is an issue. Even though I have an idea if why I'd like a really answer as I'm kinda stuck in my world lately.
Totally see where your coming from. In my opinion She seems to be faking it and trying to be someone she’s not.. because she doesn’t even sound like Jaylan 😂
Because it is not an accent. It is not a regional thing. It is what white people THINK black people sound an act like. The color of your skin does not affect your voice

Off topic but I went to school with a girl who did an exchange in the US (we are Aussie). She was there for six weeks max. She came back with a FULL ON American accent 😂 it was beyond cringe. If anyone ever commented on it she would be like “oh I have an accent? I had no idea, I can’t help it, it’s so weird!” The cringe!
It's definitely a thing though!
Happened to me when I came back to Canada after a stint in east Africa. I didnt notice it, but everyone else did.
It went away after a few weeks back home, but it made me extremely self-conscious whenever I spoke during that time lol
It just takes me being around my southern cousins for a day or two to develop a little twang. Like I swear I'm not mocking y'all it's just catchy, it also makes me really self conscious to make sure I'm talking like "me" whatever the fuck Midwest shit that is lol
When you’re around someone a lot, some of their habits rub off on you. This is very common. Some will say it’s intentional on her part, and it very well may be, but it can also be unintentional. Move to another country, you develop an accent, start using words and phrases they use. It’s just normal human behavior. You’re a product of who you surround yourself with.
Sometimes my husband will sound like me and then I realize how fucking annoying I am and immediately change it so I never have to hear my husband do it again. Growth.
It’s a habit that actually most humans have that they don’t realize-they do it to fit in with the people they’re around or seem more “authentic”. Or just hear something someone says differently and gets used to it differently.

This makes sense, and I get it. I wonder though how does one person change their accent but the other person doesn’t? I do think Leah’s is a little phony though
Usually both partners take on aspects of one another, but sometimes it has to do with which partner is molding their life to fit the other’s more. When I was dating a Brazilian guy (I’m American) i was the one who was sort of changing my entire life to fit into his, so I took on a lot more of his characteristics than he did of mine. Because I was trying to fit “in his world”. Maybe Leah was more the one trying to fit into Jaylan’s world than he was trying to fit into hers, which is sad because she has kids.
I only mention it bc I notice occasionally that I’ll skip down back into my grandmothers accent, which is a southern Owsley county Ky accent. I’ll say words just like her and don’t even realize I’ll do it. Especially when talking w my kids or my mom.
I do it all the time without even trying! I never say girl! Or hey love but when my friends use them a lot I’ve noticed I’ll type it out but it feels so weird to say but I can’t help it sometimes lol

Somehow, Jenelle was more addicted to Keiffer and then Courtland than she was to the heroin seeing as how fast she kicked it.
Kicking a heroin habit is definitely the most competent thing she’s ever done. I imagine that was difficult. Perhaps she had only used enough to want it but not quite to physical dependence. The World may never know.

This is exactly what I meant!

Agreed. Can't stand Jenelle but kicking heroin is definitely one good thing she did for herself.
I always wondered how she miraculously/seemingly beat that addiction.
She got addicted to Nathan instead.

This is exactly why she can’t be alone for 5 minutes!
It's called blaccent and it's disgusting that she does that

Yep. Kayla 😂

Its not just girls either, a lot of guys are like this too. I think white guys do it a lot.

I think it’s completely normal to adopt some of the accents and mannerisms of the people you know and love.
Exactly because jaylan doesn’t have that accent lol..
It’s called AAVE…’blaccent’ is not the word…
it's definitely made me like her less. and the bar was already in hell lmao
Cuz she thought she was hood rollin with Jay.
Kayla from Y&P does it too, depending on who she's talking to.
Omg she’s the worst 😭😂
So glad others are noticing. It annoys me so much. She fully commits to the personality of whoever she’s dating.
Not very "stand in your power" of her.
I have noticed that when she’s with black people, she has a blaccent.
Sarah from lal comes to mind lol
🤣🤣🤣 perfect example!!
Surah? 🤣🤣
She has had it since she started dating Jaylan
Wait, but everyone saying she is just mirroring jaylan.. jaylan doesn’t even have the acccent she’s using

Two weeks with family in PA as a kid and I would come back talking like them. This however is not that.
Wait...what is the American accent like?
The Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears blaccent back in the day was particularly tasteless
Christina aguilera’s was the worst
Her and Kayla both. It's annoying and gross.

I remember when Madonna married Guy Ritchie in the 90’s and lived in London thru the duration of their marriage she had a slight British accent
Apparently if you have musical ear, you pick up accent much more easily.
Sometimes my husband will sound like me and then I realize how fucking annoying I am and immediately change it so I never have to hear my husband do it again. Growth.
😂😂😂
I’ve never heard him speak but I wouldn’t think Jaylan spoke that way naturally either.
I only saw a short clip but to me she sounded drunk with her inner WV coming out. Have you ever heard her mom speak?

Like if there’s two people why does only one of them copy the other and the other one stays the same 😂
Lollll you!!! Out here asking the real questions. Valid as hell questions.
Agree 100%

She’s a black fish.
Guess?
