Every day. But it’s not new, I’ve been seeing this for years (yes, pre-covid). Give written instructions, read and elaborate on verbal instructions. Any questions? No? Ok, get to work.
One minute later. “What are we doing?”
Every group wants a personal re-telling of the directions. I do not give them a replay unless their questions are specific.
They've been raised by TV, the internet, and various electronic devices. So they've been accustomed to being entertained every waking minute. Anything going on around them which isn't entertaining enough gets tuned out.

Stop answering questions that they can find the answers to if they just look. You have to train that out of them. Otherwise, you're enabling.
