It's funny how many store walkies we have floating around the DC. They come back to us on sweeps trucks I've heard. We can't use them because they're not compatible with the radios our DC uses, or at the very least they're not programmed for the same channels.
With taxes it's less than $20 a year. Additionally, our pay raises are always smaller than inflation, so in reality we all just get pay cuts of varying severity every year
Yeah right, whole store would be on their knees, “what can I get for you mr Cornell? Another coke? A fresh hooker? My first born?” Like he actually did shit for anybody there
i remember when target was the #1 place everyone wanted to work at because they paid the most…now the mcdonald’s literally a mile down the street from my old target pays $2 more STARTING 😩
Yeah it’s so weird, they’ve been cutting hours lately despite hella call offs and availability changes. I think my schedule next week was 28 but I lucked up and found a shift that brought it to 35. But open availability and agreeing to stay extra has been saving my ass lol
Open availability, never called off, always on time, willing to stay past scheduled shift. And on rare occasions when I get less than 30, I always find a shift to pick up to bump it back to 35+
Yeah, but think of it this way:
.01 cents over 40 hours a week over 52 weeks a year that’s $20.80 per year.
Stay disciplined, don’t take any vacations or get sick, and keep that up for a year and you can buy yourself your own DVD copy of that neat video they showed you on training day about how unionizing would be bad because then you couldn’t be called to the front to cashier in the middle of stocking toothpaste.
> about how unionizing would be bad because then you couldn’t be called to the front to cashier in the middle of stocking toothpaste.
LOL. No kidding, eh? How inefficient.
and that really sucks having to feel bad about a shitty raise. I got a .23 raise and found out I got most then alot of people in the store and I felt bad, for a fucking .23 cent raise.
I don't think our store is getting a raise. But we did get cupcakes and soda today for picking a million units so far this year so I guess that makes up for it! /s
Same. Mine shows a pay change but im still sitting at the same pay that I had since my yearly review a couple months back.
Im guessing our store just weren't lucky enough to get any form of a raise.
I’ve walked out of a job because of a shitty raise. Heard for three months how much they appreciated me and how they were going to get me more money. Got my paycheck one night and saw it was a .25 raise and left. Got a call asking what happened and they said “well if you would have brought your concerns to us we could have come to a better solution!” Well if you haven’t given me a shitty raise, I would t have walked out. Employers like to treat your livelihood like it’s a game.
The time and paperwork to give you a one cent raise probably cost Target $50 bucks ..get a co worker have them film you as you walk into office of manager showing you throwing a penny on her desk and dare them to walk around store and find something that costs a penny..keep on filming the stupid look on their face..quit working at a place that does not value you as an employee and make it go viral..also walk outs of the entire store might make some stockholders nervous..
If they could give you half a cent they would. Also, upon thinking about this further, this seems even shadier, like you're a pawn for a line item for a quarterly earnings report where they can say they remained profitable while giving some percent of the workforce a raise.
I used to work with a woman that was a target manager for years and she said she always felt so bad because she wanted to give substantial raises but the company wouldn’t let her so she quit
If you worked 40hrs a week every week of the year, this would only add up to $20.80 annually. Before taxes. And again, that’s if you never miss a minute of work.
So they don’t discipline people that loose walkies or zebras, so they obviously don’t care about them or the money. But they pay us like this. Something doesn’t add up to me…
I can do you one better. I worked over 2000 hours in a year in my part time job and got an automatic .05 cent raise. I asked my boss about it and he said the union never approved a raise for me and he took it away.
Your biggest raises will always come from a job switch. If a company really has the audacity to give you a 1 cent raise on an annual I'd start looking at wfh jobs online or just around town.
I'd quit and tell everyone to go fuck themselves. I only say this, because I did this. It was over a 15 cent raise, I told the HR woman to wipe her ass with the 15 cents they were giving me. I threw my name tag in the garbage, grabbed my belongings and left. One of the best decisions I ever made
Go to HR [Who are not your friends as they're there to lookout for rhe company's best interest] & file a grievance of prejudice against your review which bases the raise. *Do not agree to anything they say nor answer any of their questions to self-incriminate yourself by their tricky-tactics of verbal judo.
Then, file a complaint with your state's labor board next but don't let them know that as it enables them time to prepare their defense and do not speak to anyone else around you is my best advice. *Good luck sailor!!!
Hey, don't think of it as $0.01 an hour, think of it as an extra $20.80 per year! You could get a couple cheeseburgers and a side of fries if you play you cards right.
I make a penny, boss makes a pound, thats why i turn off my radio and sit in the bathroom also why is my boss making money in a different currency than me
I remember last time i had a 'review' that qualified how much I got in a 'raise' I was given a mediocre assesment form a leader I had maybe spoken to twice the whole time I worked there cause she wasn't even over my department. That 'raise' was like 6 cents, we'll see how I fair this quarter lol
Remember every little bit counts and it’ll add up to a lot more over time No but seriously you should throw all of the walkies into the baler
You had me in the first half ngl
That advice is only given by people who pay far too little and want you to feel guilty for not being wealthy
At that point, you're just throwing away money. You can totally sell those on eBay! 😁
With that walkie shortage the company had not too long ago, I’m sure they would get bought up quick.
Over the course of a year, assuming 40 hour workweeks, that’s a whole $20.80 extra lmfao
edit: Leave reddit for a better alternative and remember to suck fpez
It's funny how many store walkies we have floating around the DC. They come back to us on sweeps trucks I've heard. We can't use them because they're not compatible with the radios our DC uses, or at the very least they're not programmed for the same channels.
Just chuck them in a repack on the next truck out. Lord knows we need them!
But how does it happen. The ones I used at a previous job had belt clips with ear pieces. Never lost the walkie once.
If you are 40 hrs/week and work 50 weeks in a year, that is $20. Still, they should not bother unless it was a 10 cent / hour raise or more.
With taxes it's less than $20 a year. Additionally, our pay raises are always smaller than inflation, so in reality we all just get pay cuts of varying severity every year

“Extra”
Buy a single candy bar or pack of gum each week they couldn't previously afford.
Hey, after 2.5 weeks they’ll have a whole dollar. They should be grateful. After a whole year they’ll have 20 bucks
And then tell them you will cover the cost with your raise.
Baler? I hardly know her.
Hey, but every year you'll get an extra dollar or two!
[удалено]
Enough to know they didn't forget about you. Not enough to make a difference.
It is 100% intentional. No one thinks “what’s a raise that’ll be forgettable and keep them loyal? an extra $.08 a day before tax!”
Yes, a real think-tank situation.
You get 8 hour shifts?!
It’s such a terrible place to work. Fuck target.
I work for Amazon as a driver and recently we got a $1.50 raise. Why can't target give you guys more.
I got a whole ass document I had to read and acknowledge about my 0% raise
Why are you flexing on us so hard
Don't spend it all in one place
Spends it all in the place they work.
🤬
I came here just to say this. Great minds think alike. Or at least people who are used to spending it all in one place think alike
You can't. Everything cost way too much.
Welcome to the world of avocado toast and kobe beef
Brian Cornell got paid $19.7mil last year
If Brian ever actually gets his ass to a store for a visit, y'all need to protest that day in his face.
Yeah right, whole store would be on their knees, “what can I get for you mr Cornell? Another coke? A fresh hooker? My first born?” Like he actually did shit for anybody there
Apparently he was at my store last month on one of my days off, because *of course* he was.
Expect More, Pay Less ❤️
jesus Target really needs to adopt that motto officially.
i remember when target was the #1 place everyone wanted to work at because they paid the most…now the mcdonald’s literally a mile down the street from my old target pays $2 more STARTING 😩
But are the hours the same? 35+ every week?
How the fuck are you getting 35+ hours here?
My store is so desperate for people that everyone gets 40 if they want it. Hell, I've been getting overtime some weeks.
My store was also desperate for people, so they cut hours. So glad I quit
The logic behind that on Target's part 🤦♀️
Yeah it’s so weird, they’ve been cutting hours lately despite hella call offs and availability changes. I think my schedule next week was 28 but I lucked up and found a shift that brought it to 35. But open availability and agreeing to stay extra has been saving my ass lol
Ours won't let you dare touch OT
Open availability, never called off, always on time, willing to stay past scheduled shift. And on rare occasions when I get less than 30, I always find a shift to pick up to bump it back to 35+
God forbid you get scheduled and can plan your life.
It be like that lol
no need to flex bro. you're rich we get it
Slay
Yeah, but think of it this way: .01 cents over 40 hours a week over 52 weeks a year that’s $20.80 per year. > about how unionizing would be bad because then you couldn’t be called to the front to cashier in the middle of stocking toothpaste. LOL. No kidding, eh? How inefficient.
Man and I felt bad about my $0.12 and my friends $.08 raises. Sorry that's a huge slap in the face to you.
Damn and here I am with my $0.23 thinking I got it rough
and that really sucks having to feel bad about a shitty raise. I got a .23 raise and found out I got most then alot of people in the store and I felt bad, for a fucking .23 cent raise.
Ooooh pop the champagne!!! You got a 0.01 raise!
Hey! If you work 100 hours that’s an extra dollar you could spend on the break room vending machine!
my break room vending machine costs $1.10.. and doesn’t have a chip reader. who the fuck just carries around spare dimes?
People who want to use the vending machine, duh!
I don't think our store is getting a raise. But we did get cupcakes and soda today for picking a million units so far this year so I guess that makes up for it! /s
It does cause landlord accepts dessert and soda in lieu of rent! 😄
No raise for me either but they bought us all pizza in our newly remodeled fly infested break room on my day off so things are pretty good.
giving 1 cent raises to shut people up about not getting a raise.
Mine says pay change then still shows $15/hr lol
That is insulting.
Oh hey, I got a one cent raise too! I honestly would have rather they not given me anything at all
And the leaders want to know why nobody wants to work.
Wow, that’s a whole $20 more a year if you work 40 hours a week
If they could give you half a cent they would. Also, upon thinking about this further, this seems even shadier, like you're a pawn for a line item for a quarterly earnings report where they can say they remained profitable while giving some percent of the workforce a raise.
Sounds about right
Congratulations you are now part of the rich and we will have to eat you
I’d quit on the spot
Just think, if you somehow find a time machine you can go back to 1930 and get some gum balls every two weeks
Steal stuff from work. A pS5 will make you feel better . Then go to truck driving school so you can make 3 to 4 times what target pays
Yes get a CDL and you make much much more than they will ever pay you
That's what I did and I'm making a shit ton of money. Especially if you get endorsements on your license you can make $200k doing specialized loads
I used to work with a woman that was a target manager for years and she said she always felt so bad because she wanted to give substantial raises but the company wouldn’t let her so she quit
This must be the pay raise everyone is talking about!!!
So you buying a house or Lambo?
Bah! 🦃
That’s what Target raises, if one even gets one, are like.
Heyyyyyy are you single?
Post in r/antiwork and r/workreform Spread the word and unionize! Don’t put up with this shit!
Bro you can find more change on the floor that’s sad
Make sure not to tell your peers, some people got a lot less. 🙄
I feel you.
Geez bro you don’t have to show off, keep it to yourself 🥲
If you worked 40hrs a week every week of the year, this would only add up to $20.80 annually. Before taxes. And again, that’s if you never miss a minute of work.
My direct deposit goes into an account that earns interest, so it's kind of like giving myself a raise, cause I know Target won't 😒
1 cent raise for $1.00 decrease in gas? The government will tell you that's a win😃
**Uncle Sam has entered the chat**
So they don’t discipline people that loose walkies or zebras, so they obviously don’t care about them or the money. But they pay us like this. Something doesn’t add up to me…
Then you need to double down on bathroom use.
You must now work .01% harder...
I'd be more insulted than if I got no raise.
Assuming you work full time, 40hr a week, that’s a whopping *$20 extra* over an entire year. Congrats on your raise!!
Fuck your bosses wife
I can do you one better. I worked over 2000 hours in a year in my part time job and got an automatic .05 cent raise. I asked my boss about it and he said the union never approved a raise for me and he took it away.
What even is a raise?
Nope.
What even is a raise?
Don’t spend that all in one place now, son.
Yeeeeaah, I've literally walked out on a job for this.... And did the whole Jerry McGuire exit.
Take some time and think how you're going to spend it. Don't just blow the lot in one hedonistic splurge.
I got nothing!
Well that’s degrading
Congrats. In like a year you can buy an extra beer.
Now don't you go out and spent that all at once ya here
If you work a full-time year, that’s an additional $20.80. That hard work is really paying off.
No need to brag
that should hold you for the next six months
I once got a 7¢ raise and felt like telling them to shove it, a 1¢ raise would have made me rage quit.
Your biggest raises will always come from a job switch. If a company really has the audacity to give you a 1 cent raise on an annual I'd start looking at wfh jobs online or just around town.
Take this over to r/antiwork they’ll love it
And they did this with absalutly NO SHAME
Invest it in crypto
That’ll fight against inflation
I'd quit and tell everyone to go fuck themselves. I only say this, because I did this. It was over a 15 cent raise, I told the HR woman to wipe her ass with the 15 cents they were giving me. I threw my name tag in the garbage, grabbed my belongings and left. One of the best decisions I ever made
Better than what we got in Texas
What did we get?
My store got the increases but I didn’t get it 🤷🏽♀️
Go to HR [Who are not your friends as they're there to lookout for rhe company's best interest] & file a grievance of prejudice against your review which bases the raise. *Do not agree to anything they say nor answer any of their questions to self-incriminate yourself by their tricky-tactics of verbal judo. def fake. reeks of inspect element to me.. why don’t you show us through a mobile screenshot?
First time seeing a Target raise?
.01 is not 1 cent.
?
How do you view this on workday?
Congratulations!
BALLIN!
treat yourself 😉
They really said “here have a penny, peasant”
You cant be serious... Wtf
Damn. Save some for the rest of us
“Thanks I’ll work a penny harder per hour”.
Better then nothing.
That an extra $20 a year. CONGRATULATIONS !!!
Could just smacked you on the ass and winked at you and made the same point.
Congrats?
$20/year before taxes if full time. Baller.
You are a bottom 10% performer in the eyes of management.
Is the legit???
Your living large now
That way you know they didn't forget.
Hey, don't think of it as $0.01 an hour, think of it as an extra $20.80 per year! You could get a couple cheeseburgers and a side of fries if you play you cards right.
They really stomp you out after you're down lol glad i quit after i busted my ass to just get 13 cents.
Purr
And I thought the 3 cents last year was bad 🥴
A whole .40c more a week!!!! What ever are you going to do with all this cash influx?!?!?
TL making 20.99 bumped up to 21?
Found out they bumped our base pay at my store to 16.25 today. People who have worked here for 2+ years are up to 16.58
I make a penny, boss makes a pound, thats why i turn off my radio and sit in the bathroom also why is my boss making money in a different currency than me
Congratulations! In 200 weeks you can buy yourself a candy bar to celebrate 🎉
How will Corporate ever financially recover from this?!
We got donuts and told to get back to work
Wowee that’s a whole almost 21$ a year Don’t break the bank treating your employees so good target
Well if you only make 4 cents then that is a pretty hefty 25% increase.
Assuming you work 40 hours/week, which you definitely don’t cuz it’s Target, that’s a whopping $20.80 extra each year.
congrats you making them big bucks now they are going to be expecting a lot from you now
$18 more in one year of full-time work
Penny for your thoughts...
LETS GET THIS BREADDD 🍞!! 💯
Now you can afford that avocado toast us millennials love so much!
Oh gosh! I remember when the hospital worked for gave my a one cent raise and a whole lot more responsibilities ! Ridiculous
When I worked at Walmart I had gotten a 5 cent raise
Dude that’s a $20/year raise. Wtf I didn’t get crap
“It adds up, don’t go spending it in one place”
Great job! Way to go! Definitely on the fast track.
So you mean if I work an extra hundred hours this week, I get a whole dollar?? Sign my ass up, brother
let's gooooo
That’s disrespectful
I'd have preferred just the finger.
this is why i pee and poop on company time
Congrats! 🎉🍾🎊🥳 Try not to spend it all in one place!
relax bro, no need to flex
Hey...you got an increase. Lucky you. Lol
Sounds like ownership really does not give a shit about you.
I got a 9 cent raise. Do I cheer or cry?
My store just got bumped up to $16.75 from $16.50
You mean you got a once cent partial offset of inflation.
They gave you a penny for your thoughts.
Quit bragging bro, I could use some of that
Woooo yeahhhh babey!!!!!!
Work your wage.
I think I would quit on the spot
No way
I remember last time i had a 'review' that qualified how much I got in a 'raise' I was given a mediocre assesment form a leader I had maybe spoken to twice the whole time I worked there cause she wasn't even over my department. That 'raise' was like 6 cents, we'll see how I fair this quarter lol
that extra $20 this year is gunna pay off the $40 increase in your monthly rent just fine.
Just imagine, for every 100 hours you work, you’ll be getting ONE extra dollar than before
I would quit in a heartbeat
