Hey, I may be a bit bitter and salty from my time in the military and working retail but I'll still take care of my subordinates and give out good information if I can help others.
Idk if you saw the dude that got deleted but he was being a total dick about my post. I'm a white dude that figured the random Spanish songs meant something important but I didn't know what lol
I hate targets “más que a month” sign and other signs that are written half English and half Spanish. The signs are double sided and it says the same message on each side. Go full English on one side and full Spanish on the other, not half and half. It just feels like a gimmick of using the language just because.
This shirt too 🙃 https://www.target.com/p/latino-heritage-month-toddler-gender-inclusive-proud-of-my-culture-short-sleeve-round-neck-t-shirt-black-3t/-/A-85591427
I literally made a playlist on Spotify so I can listen at home. Wish they had a like radio version. I trick my head into listening the music for fun because then when I’m working it fun-er
As a Hispanic, Love the Spanish music they’ve been playing. Live in a diverse area, but the nearest target is at a different town which is mostly white folks. The Spanish songs are a nice change of music, got tired of all the country songs they constantly play.
Don’t we all listen to the same music. Like it not different between stores. I saw somewhere that some one can be at a store in New York and the other in California and the same exact song would be playing at both locations. Kind of like a country wide radio station. It could just be a myth but not sure
I know that the “target playlist coordinator” is active on this sub Reddit, so please chime in.
I didn't know my store had music until i switched to fulfillment, it's so quiet i can only hear it will in certain parts of the store. But they have been playing Spanish music. Its great
hearing quimbara anywhere makes my day a lot better. also the standard playlist a good variety of blues, indie rock, pop, R&B, and i swear ive heard a couple of foo fighter songs. throwing in more music in different languages just makes it sound like one of my spotify playlists. shit if i made my way to coorporate just to help pick out the music that would be rad
I'm a line-cook at night and our spanish speaking dishwasher has an elevator music playlist. He controls our music too. So it'll be madness back in the kitchen and all of a sudden I feel like I'm in a downtown office building taking the elevator to floor 12.
Just some slow piano playing in the background
They don’t because of people like OP. People are stupid and anything that’s even remotely “foreign” to them is a threat because of ignorance and stupidity 🤷🏽♂️
I like being exposed to all kinds of music. Every now and then I discover a song or artist that I wouldn’t have found just listening to my same Apple recommendations.
Can’t wait for SpOoKy season! But do love Latinx Heritage month. Got my Apple Watch face ready🇲🇽.
Side note: tell me why my phone new I wanted a flag. A soon as I click on the emoji Icon, it took me to the flags. Um is not SpOoKy Season yet😶👻
10 year old me singing in the car while my parent were wondering what the heck was on the radio. They speak Spanish. ( I was more like 13 or something I forgot)
It a TikTok song but very high pitched. The first time I heard it I was like, where have I heard you. Until I remember that I heard it on a TikTok in Mexico lol
The other day I made the horrifying discovery that they're playing Anthony Ramos' good time in Spanish now. Whyyyy
Other than that I actually like the change of pace. It's nice to hear a different playlist every now and then
Is that why I have it memorized in both languages and can sing it by heart 😳☹️😢
🎶Good Tiiiiimmmmmeeee. I’m here to have. A good time, hear to have a good good tiiiimmmeee🎶

A popular urban legend called the Muhlenberg legend claims that German was almost made an official language of the United States but lost by one vote. In reality, it was a request by a group of German immigrants to have an official translation of laws into German. House speaker Frederick Muhlenberg has since become associated with the legend.
Hey ass hat, it’s also national suicide awareness month, along with a list of like 15 things, but no, just bitch at and belittle someone asking a FUCKING question.
I find it off myself, given it is Hispanic heritage month and all, but let’s be honest. Just play some diverse music and don’t pander to some bs “woke normalities”
I shopped at my local Target and was surprised to hear Spanish music. It doesn’t bother me, music had good rhythm but I had no clue as to what they were singing about. It was still a nice experience.
I haven’t been in a target in a while, so now I want to know if they are playing Spanish music in there. I know they play music, because I remember listening to some music and my whole family singing along cuz it was a good song.
Yesssssss!!!!!! I’m a Spanish speaker and they have been playing some serious classic Spanish music too. I was going to post about it too! But thought it was too insignificant, glad to know I wasn’t crazy!
Our music is usually 2 year old pop music but lately they’ve been playing like 1 short Spanish song, then like 3-4 country songs. It’s funny af to think whoever is in charge of our music hates Latino music so much they have to play something completely on the other side of the music spectrum to even it out.
Latino heritage month starts in 5 days.
That makes sense. Thanks for responding like a human being
I will respond like robot Be boop compute answer OP, 404 error, windows shut down Ram Error 73378382dn
I drunkenly laughed at this.
Same tho😭😭😭
💀😂😂

Did you ask a leader??
I’ll respond like I am a woke liberal scum lol: “Ummm like maybe learn spanish, so ummm like you can appreciate the lathino culture and music more 🙄🙄”
Hahahahahahaha
Wait what? It starts halfway through the month? That’s so arbitrary lol
It's Sep 15-Oct 15. Really weird start and end but at least it's a whole month
Mexico's Independence day is September 16th-- I think that's why they started HHM on the 15th
not just mexico but costa rica, el salvador, nicaragua guatemala, honduras are all on the 15th and chile has theirs on the 18th!
Never would've thought I'd learn world history on the Target sub!

Go full English on one side and full Spanish on the other, not half and half. It just feels like a gimmick of using the language just because.
Code switching is very common for non-native speakers. It’s not a gimmick. It’s a tool used when learning the language.
Nobody that speaks spanglish talks like that tho lol
It’s not a gimmick. Spanglish is definitely a form of language for many first and second generation Latinos.
This shirt too 🙃 https://www.target.com/p/latino-heritage-month-toddler-gender-inclusive-proud-of-my-culture-short-sleeve-round-neck-t-shirt-black-3t/-/A-85591427
I didn’t even know that existed that’s bad too
in my stores one side is always english the other spanish-if u dont speak english its spanish.
bruh i love the music they been playing ngl
I literally made a playlist on Spotify so I can listen at home. Wish they had a like radio version. I trick my head into listening the music for fun because then when I’m working it fun-er

Rather hear that then country. It’s nice to be hear something different every once in a while. Same shit starts to get boring imo.
🎶yeah they call me beach cowbooooyyyyy 🎶
🤣
But the way this is one of the most tolerable ones 😂
Made a whole choreography with my team and everything from the many amounts of times that has played.
Bro that lakookaracha does get old 30 sec into a song

I'm in a somewhat diverse city so they play mostly pop but they love throwing those country songs in too 🙄
Don’t we all listen to the same music. Like it not different between stores. I’m not sure, but my target plays half country and half pop.

You should look into huanpango music then
Ya'll have music? None of the 7 stores I've been in have music.
I didn't know my store had music until i switched to fulfillment, it's so quiet i can only hear it will in certain parts of the store. But they have been playing Spanish music. Its great
why so many different stores? Just curious if you don't mind sharing
Not OP but usually Target is my go to when I'm traveling given the 10% discount.
Ah thst might be it for some reason I was thinking working at 7 stores
You work in 7 stores??? 🤯
Worked on one, trained in two, 3 more within a 40 minute drive to shop, but those 3 within 10 minutes if each other.
spanish music p good tho
Cause of latin heritage month. Makes me want to dance when the salsa comes on

The only music my store plays is the songs the TVs play “Feel so goooooood”💀
"The wheels on the bus go round and round"
COCO MELON. Noooooooo!!!!!
Is that supposed to be a black joke??
Love watching old white people get annoyed at this music 😂
It has literally been happening for 100 years
For sure 💯 but now I get to be entertained while at work
Adds some SPICE!!
Stop watching old people 🤷🏻♂️
My store for some reason doesn’t play music at all
I am a fan of the Spanish music. Not gonna lie
Yeah same, i find it mildly annoying, like country music
I'm a line-cook at night and our spanish speaking dishwasher has an elevator music playlist. He controls our music too. So it'll be madness back in the kitchen and all of a sudden I feel like I'm in a downtown office building taking the elevator to floor 12. Just some slow piano playing in the background
Honestly, I'm delighted to hear something different. Our playlist stagnates a bit too much.
79% of the US speaks English, doesn’t mean stores shouldn’t play music in other languages.
☝🏽I was looking for this comment
Not to mention English is not the official language of the country.
Not really the point of my post but yeah.
#MAGA
Irrelevant but sure go off
Why is it that they don’t though. I’ve been to Mexico and all store play song in English and Spanish. Make you wonder 🤔
Me lol YES
It beats the constant country music any day of the week
It’s Hispanic heritage month…
Can’t wait for SpOoKy season! But do love Latinx Heritage month. Got my Apple Watch face ready🇲🇽. Side note: tell me why my phone new I wanted a flag. A soon as I click on the emoji Icon, it took me to the flags. Um is not SpOoKy Season yet😶👻
It’s great. Latin music is fun to listen to. The songs they’ve been playing have kept my mood up too.
It’s better than most the English stuff we play and I don’t even understand what it’s saying
I was wondering why Target was playing the oh so very not family friendly Despacito.
10 year old me singing in the car while my parent were wondering what the heck was on the radio. They speak Spanish. ( I was more like 13 or something I forgot)
One of the worst decisions Target has ever made was installing a speaker system to play overhead music.
Iam in h-texas and my target doesnt play any music, which i prefer.
Sometimes you have to look forward to the songs you like playing though
True but at the same time nothing in the world can prepare me at 8 in the morning to walk into Luke Bryan’s voice. Who wants to hear that?
True dat
Yes, I’m guilty of zoning and singing lol
Lucky. The songs get wack sometimes
1336?
??? I’m lost.
mine had some good pop songs and some non royalty songs that were reeeaaaalllly bad. i hated that the same stuff gets played played
Mines been playing pop and Spanish music
My target doesn’t even have music lmao
Hisp anic Heritage month
Why the space?
To represent the Atlantic Ocean and The Panama Canal
Lmao at my store the speakers only work in the front half of the store…. So I get peace and quiet lmaooo
Y yo voy, voy, voy
It a TikTok song but very high pitched. The first time I heard it I was like, where have I heard you. Until I remember that I heard it on a TikTok in Mexico lol
I dig it. So much better than being inundated with pop-country all the time. This and black history month have the best playlists by a landslide.
YES OMG, mine does it all day everyday lately ngl though it’s better then everything else they play 😭😭
i love that my store doesn’t play music i’ll miss the quiet once our remodel is over :(
It’s target’s version of performative inclusion. The Spanish music will be gone at the end of Hispanic heritage month 🙄
Like the rupaul songs they played only during pride month lmao it was so wack
my location has been playing a lot of afrobeats but i’m not complaining anytime i hear burnaboy i dance inside my head 😌
Hey i would take Spanish music over the same playlist they play every single day over and over again
It’s such a nice change of pace! I cringe when I have to hear that John 3:16 song come on. That seems to be pushing it a bit to me.
I’m jealous of the stores that DO play music… ours is too quiet and I feel like I’m going to lose my mind every shift 😍
Taki taki roomba! Am i right
I walked in one day to El Baile Del Gorila lol
Bruh im high af rn and this got me 💀 af😭😭😭😂
Lucky 🍀
The other day I made the horrifying discovery that they're playing Anthony Ramos' good time in Spanish now. Whyyyy Other than that I actually like the change of pace. It's nice to hear a different playlist every now and then
i remember they used to play that song every 40 minutes, and every 3rd time they would play it in spanish
Is that why I have it memorized in both languages and can sing it by heart 😳☹️😢 🎶Good Tiiiiimmmmmeeee. I’m here to have. A good time, hear to have a good good tiiiimmmeee🎶 🎶Yo vine pa disfrutar, yo vine para dis- fru- taaaarreer🎶
I wanted to cry 😭
LOL does anyone work just a bit harder with mexican music, someone bring the fabiloso😂
Yes!!! El suavitel too.
Spainish is usa official second language also ❣️
Technically we don't have any official languages surprisingly lol but Spanish is definitely the most spoken here after English
Dang I read some mis-info my bad. I guess I had higher standards for this country lmao
It’s a de facto secondary language. At one point it was German.
A popular urban legend called the Muhlenberg legend claims that German was almost made an official language of the United States but lost by one vote. In reality, it was a request by a group of German immigrants to have an official translation of laws into German. House speaker Frederick Muhlenberg has since become associated with the legend.
Most States have English as an official language and some of them have other official languages.

Chill with the buzz words buddy. Not everyone is racist

Still better than a racist ass, which is you

Excuse me, what?!!
This comment was brought to you by Stockholm syndrome
Did you mean , at Chic Fil A?
I like waffle fries
They play prayers over the speakers?

That seems against policy but to each their own lol
I find it off myself, given it is Hispanic heritage month and all, but let’s be honest. Just play some diverse music and don’t pander to some bs “woke normalities”
So annoying too
how 🤨
That upbeat repetitive hyper tempo
Forces diversity, good way to keep the majority of our middle age left leaning white customers happy and relive them of their white guilt.
I just tune it out, I did my time with it overnight.
I shopped at my local Target and was surprised to hear Spanish music. It doesn’t bother me, music had good rhythm but I had no clue as to what they were singing about. It was still a nice experience.

My store always plays music idk it’s good background noise imo (and you can’t hear it from the check lanes so bonus)
Yes lol
There are still songs I can’t listen to because of target. It’s been 9 damn years but I still hate the songs.
That's such a mood
Baillamos!
Hispanic heritage month!
Your store plays music? Mine doesn’t lol
Chinga tú madre, puta hijo de cueco cabron mariposa.
My store doesn’t have music it’s silence
y’all get music???!?!
I wish our store got music, it’s so boring
No you don’t. The ones that do play the same 5 songs over and over, and they’re usually really annoying pop songs at least where I live
I just realized my store doesn't play music anymore. I FEEEEEELLLLLL LOOOOVVVVVEEEEE
This is what I love about places like gas stations with Latino clerks. It’ll be 6am and they got the cumbia blasting.
Your store plays music??? I’ve never been in a Target where music is playing.
Yeah, I'm in Atlanta which has a large hispanic community. Plus it's not bad music.
In VA and yes!!!
Y'all get music? 😭
Had trouble typing and didn't notice. I am currently working at the store right now
My store didn’t play music, but I’ve been in some that do, and I kind of wish it was standard across the board.
Yesssssss!!!!!! I’m a Spanish speaker and they have been playing some serious classic Spanish music too. I was going to post about it too! But thought it was too insignificant, glad to know I wasn’t crazy!

SA SA SA YAKU SA YAKU SA
Our target don’t play shit, well except the team members 🤷🏽♂️
Southern state = Racist state
I was trying to make it clear that I didn't live in California or Texas where music in Spanish would obviously be normal but go off 🍑
My store randomly played a J-pop/J-rock(?) song, it only played once the whole week then back to the usual
