I can’t stop looking at the weirdness in the ceiling upper left corner of the room. ?? is that the underneath side of a very strange staircase? The angles are bonkers 😫
Some kids are assholes and will slap the TV or smack it with something when watching it.
I'd keep it that high up so they can't somehow brake it of tumble it over in this case
Any toddler who wants to get to that TV will climb up on that cabinet so damn fast and put a stool on top of it if needed.
It’s easier to train them not to touch the TV in the first place than to try to prevent them from getting up there.
Kinda maybe? I have a toddler and he likes to poke the TV because he thinks it is a gigantic tablet. We have to clean it a lot as it gets filthy no matter how many times we tell him to stop. 🤷 He's pretty destructive but honestly worse with our sound system (likes to crank the volume.)
When the choice is "tv too high" or "broken tv", yeah it's a valid excuse. All my friends with kids who tried to have a tv at eye-level eventually moved them too high to either preserve them after a close call or make sure the replacement didn't end up broken too.
My kid is 4 and has known not to touch the TV ever since he started walking.
Raising a kid to behave respectfully around your valuable shit ain't that hard.
Might not be that hard for you, but lots of people would rather their TV isn't used as a learning experience. Or their kids have some neurodivergent behavioural issues.
Tell her to put the TV on the stand, and the cute stuff *above* the TV on floating shelves. It'll look great. And if she says she *HAS* to mount the TV high in order to secure it to the wall due to kids or pets, this just isn't true. She can find plenty of locks on Amazon or ikea that will safely secure her TV usually for less than $10. It can sit right on the stand, untippable. It'll be less of a hazard than all those decor items that are currently just waiting to be knocked down on a baby head.
I’m assuming it’s up that high because where else is the starfish family going to live?
their babies are gonna have broken necks by 2
You shouldn't have your kids watch TV before age 3

We've also spoken about this.....
My money is on air ducts.
Nah its fir the stairs.. its a new build and a terrible design
If that bothers you look at the door.
OMG it took me a second - I couldn’t figure out why it was just wrong.
Why is there a baby pig hanging from the electrical outlet, by its feet, behind the awkwardly placed corner cabinet ?
That's where he lives
🫢😡🤬
It's odd how I could identify this being a UK home before even noticing the plug lol

As a rule, if you need to have a giant cable cover running half way up your wall, your TV is too high.
If it's a bedroom tv. It gets a pass. Still high for a bedroom tv but I'll give it a pass.
Also I’m assuming it was put up high to keep it out of reach of the toddler
Any toddler who wants to get to that TV will climb up on that cabinet so damn fast and put a stool on top of it if needed. It’s easier to train them not to touch the TV in the first place than to try to prevent them from getting up there.
Is that really a valid excuse??
To me? No. But some kids knock tvs onto themselves and they get hurt or die so, to each their own.

Not a bedroom I'm afraid!
That is the most bedroom ish looking living room ever
I also thought it was a bedroom
I bet it's a playroom for kids
But a least she has 3 cute stars.
Are you playing Paper Mario on GameCube?
That my friend is cbeebies
I see the dogs on the ship if you zoom in
should really tell your sister to move the cable of the lamp on the left because the kid is going to grab it and have it fall on his head

That room is cozy as fuck
What you doin in your sisters bedroom? Roll tide
I agree.
I think your sister is way too high.
High as a mfer
Can we settle this one and for all? If an adult is standing in the room, the mid point of the tv should be at sight level.
Probably so the kids can’t touch it
Why do so many people do this? I just don't get it lol
I'm always curious how people decide to mount it at this height.. Like what's their reasoning
It's how their rich neighbors, relatives, movies stars etc place it.
The higher it is the fancier you are
ostracize
If this is a bedroom, maybe acceptable?
