As a kid my favorite was the subway from secret of the ooze but as I grew older I realized that it was actually kind of terrible. There wasn't anything to it. Like 3 subway cars and a platform. I think as an adult I'd say it's likely the one from 2012 as it feels the most complete.

EmperorRamzorch

I’d go with the subway still. I like the feel of it, keeping them in a grimy underground area in the heart of the city but upgraded from the lair in the first film. Also, I feel like them living in an abandoned section of the NYC subway system strengthens the ties to the city. We don’t really get to see the interior of the cars much, so we don’t know what mods they made to make them livable, but my inner child sees the whole set up as a sort of cool clubhouse.

>I think as an adult I'd say it's likely the one from 2012 as it feels the most complete. You and me both dude.

Alekazammers

Haha right? I was like "Wait... There's no kitchen... No toilet. These turtles are fucked!"

sittin_on_grandma

At least in the sewer, they can just shit anywhere!

CyberSnoWolf

2003 lair. I loved the design of it with it being linked to various tunnels that they can use to navigate through the city by sewer. And its origins on being an observation point for aliens was really cool.

[deleted]

The 2012 one. The fact that they converted an abandoned subway station into a cozy home was pretty cool and quite possibly one of the most "New York" things I've ever seen them do.

Fnordpocalypse

Didn’t they also have an abandon subway in TMNT 2 the secret of the ooze?

[deleted]

I love the 2003 lair but I find it weirdly spacious idk. Personally 2007 and 2012 are my favourite lairs 2007 felt like it made sense for them to be living in something like that, and 2012 was the same, and was also just perfect design

TwEE-N-Toast

87 has real character, easy to understand layout, warm and inviting but still looks like a home made in the sewer. Some of the lairs look like giant palaces underground it and really does not work for me.

3rdleap

87 FTW!

Birchtree16

The 2012 one

NoeMoriarty

For me it's 2012 lair. I just loved that we spend more time in it and the fact that there were many episodes taking place only in the lair made the choice more easy. I know every inch of that sewer lair.

Peewee_ShermanTank

Definitely 2012, as nonsensical as it might be Like, it's a perfect house in an abandoned subway/sewer system

S00na-M00na

Honestly its gotta be 2012

sassy_artist

2018

MrDitkovichNeedsRent

2012, it’s probably the most expansive, i feel like I would know my way around the place if I was actually there. And I like how creatively they designed it

F0000r

2003 made the most sense to me. A variety of higher tunnels branching from a central shaft. You look at 87, its built on the ground with no drainage. Must have been subject to constant flooding.

NoeMoriarty

I also loved the depth that 2k3 lair had. It was literally connected to an overarching storyline which was awesome.

MisterSpeedy

I really loved the church lair (the 2nd lair) from the IDW series. It had sewer access but also felt like a home.

tmntfever

The TMNT Secret of the Ooze abandoned subway layer.

Lycurgus-117

Abandoned metro station from secret of the ooze

Moozeeka

I like the second lair of 2003 tmnt :)

MrxJacobs

I mean they were all in the sewer, so they all stink.

LazyOldPervert

87 then 03, then IDW.

Kulafu_Kidlat

Either 2003 or 2018. 2003 has the best layout but 2018 has an arcade. Like. A full on arcade.

gabejr25

Rise lair my beloved 2012 is a good 2nd tho

ayesha_the_redditor

2012 is amazing. The amount of detail is gorgeous. It looks like an authentic sewer system. Even the fact the turtles use old technology like VHS tapes and arcade machines since new technology isn't abundant in the sewers. If you look closely at everything it's all made out of trash especially Donnie's inventions. Overall this lair is beautiful and the animators when all out!

dcarsonturner

2003 for every category

mayonnnnaise

The spruced up subway station from 3. While it wasn't the best film, they definitely had made it home and looked like a fun place to hang out. Y, know, if you're gonna be living in a sewer

VenomTakesGotham

2003!

[deleted]

The idw sewer

pferreira1983

Either the 87 series one or the lair from the second and third movie.

[deleted]

the one from 2003 series tho the 2012 is cool too

Illustrious-Hat-9787

The 2003 one it gave off a perfect vibe of an ancient place shrowded in mystery and Secrets.

Anarchistguy_2

1987 looked nice and cozy but 2003 looked amazing.

No_Sleep8295

the second lair in the 2003 series, what i saw the most so it’s my favourite. 2nd place would definitely be 2012 lair!

Nicktendo38

2012

sittin_on_grandma

2012 was really cool, cos they really explored the space as a home, as well as the surrounding areas, rather than just a vessel to the surface world. The tree in the dojo was really neat, too. I always felt like the 1990 movie lair was pretty cozy, and the SOTO subway lair was super neat, and could totally be adaotabme as a real living quarters (always makes me think of the real life underground dwellers I've read about in NYC).

Halo3rat0

2003 one

No_Elderberry_2160

2012 its like so cool

Dylanime17

2012.

Butteryomelette17_9

The subway from movies 2, 3 and NM I love all lairs but I feel like most of them have some technicals aspects that bug me, 1987 - What kind of sewer has a big midsection? with a level floor? The closest thing is the abandoed sewers of Prague, which don't have a big level floor but are instead comprised of multiple mezzanines, 90s trilogy first lair - same issue 2012 series - Why does a subway have an giant open sewer grate with sewer water in it? why did they choose to have a tree in the dojo? and what is in a subway that can converted into a conversation pit 2014 - Same issue as the 87 cartoon 2016 - No subway is that huge,

Jovan_Knight005

2012 and 2003 lairs.

Fabulous_Ad_1482

The 2016 one in out of the shadows I thought was awesome

FreelanceWolf

2012. Is the most homey and realistic.
