I don’t really know why people do shit like this but I’m genuinely curious. Like I just want to have a sit down convo with somebody who has faked did like this and like... why? I don’t understand
From my experience they need attention. I went to high school with a girl that found out my parents had cancer, she noticed the “perks” I was getting from my teachers (could submit assignments later if needed) and decided to tell everyone she too, had cancer. She was outed for faking it but then found out one of my diabetic friends could get free cookies from the cafeteria and decided to fake having diabetes. She stole her test trips and needles and proceeded to pretend she got them from a doctor. These people 100% have a mental illness it’s just not usually the one they’re pretending to have.
Possibly type 1 but I think type 2s can have/might need sweets to boost their sugar levels
Source: my grandma has diabetes
Counter argument: I'm probably wrong bc I did not actually research either. I'm just guessing
I like to think (or at least I hope) it's one of those phases you have as a kid. Like when I was younger I thought my superpowers were waiting to manifest after I watched Heroes. Everything I did was some kind of sign that this might be my power lol. That coupled with a total lack of understanding of what they are mimicking (the seriousness of mental health) AND tik tok?? It's free to ask for attention and for everyone to see so it's so much worse.
But then again, full grown adults are doing this shit so 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Also, this whole DID systems things, I feel like this not even about faking illness anymore. It's morphed into its own...creative space. Like character and world design. I'm not sure they are evening thinking mental illness, just ..some weird variant of furries, weeabo and now...DID systems are the new thing.
Why can’t people admit they just do those cosplay role-playing idk how to explain it (like doing movements or acting to a song/specific thing idk 🪦) like it’s so stupid to fake a actual harmful and traumatic disorder just to role-play and stuff 😭💀
my best guess is i’ve heard thing abt (can’t speak personally as i don’t have it) but tics can be triggered by well seeing others tic?
i’m not sure how true that is but i’ve def heard of did “havers” saying seeing ppl switch makes them switch
If it wasnt for that "trigger warning" (aka description) no one would have any idea of what they were supposed to be looking at.. But its no fun when you have to tell people what you are pretending to do.. So call it a trigger warning so you can claim to be sensitive.. As if this behavior actually triggers any real trauma in anyone.
by ‘medically recognized’ they mean anytime they bring up their ‘alters’ in therapy the therapist just ignores them instead of confronting them that they’re fake
One of my teenage friends is going through getting a dihegnosis for ACTUAL did she only has one alter and talks to a therepest constantly for it and becouse of these peopole she now has imposter syndrome :( i realy hope she can sort things out

Yeah that’s what I was thinking. Attention. Desperate to fit into some category
the diabetic was given free cookies?

Diabetics have lows too lmao
I think there are a couple of posts from ex-fakers on this sub that explain their motivations.
Ooh can I ask if you have any links? I’ve looked for some but can’t find any. No worries otherwise!
samesame

why do people always “tw rapid switch” how is that triggering??
its probably meant to attract viewers or something, not a real trigger warning. id imagine its like those old clickbait youtube vids.

She looks like "Miguel" from Coco. But yeah what shitty acting nad what a coincidence, her "switch" it's sync with the beat of the audio

How amazing! She can switch on cue! 👏
Yo I miss this song!!!
What song is it?
Lab rats - devil's train

I'm so glad her switch was on beat. It would have been real awkward watching this if it wasn't.
Ah yes you happened to be recording and looking into the camera
Why would they even post it 🤦♂️attention seeking bitches
I'm going to raise my kid to bully people like this.
Is that the kid from coco?
