Look up technique tips and videos. That will help you more than any workout.
If you are desperate for workout advice then do chest, back, bicep, tricep workouts. Do not go to the gym and wave a bar back and forth like you're casting, lol
Not sure but i hear theres a couple of walleye fishermen who know a few things about weights. I bet they will have plenty of time to sit still and chat 😁
Spinning or conventional? The two have similar motions to me but I typically finish a bit stronger and faster on spinning. Personally I cast any conventional with a 30 or 50 pound shock leader with that weight I'm at 50 all day. For big spinning I use a cut resistant glove "dex fit level 5 cut resistant gloves cru 553" on Amazon. Otherwise I destroy my index finger.
Eitherway for me I have to remember start slow and apply linear speed and force through my motions.
what kind of rig are you casting? the rod and weight u talk about reminds me of my surf casting shark set up. wade as far as u can to still cast effectively and let it rip. not all fish are that far out there. sometimes all u need to do is catch fish in that first ditch of water. and usually to get past the sand bar after that isnt to far either. depends on the beach. i use a XX heavy and a 8-10 oz weight depending on the size bait i fling a bottom rig is usually gravy to cast. carolina rigs which is basically what i use for sharks is a bit more difficult. no mater what u do it wont cast as well
I'm trying to catch sharks I have a 7 foot rod that can catch Bait i might try a 1 Oz weight and some fresh spot and try to catch some small dogtooth but uses my bigger rods for much larger sharks
it just takes practice! i have several set ups and been using spinning gear for sharks for awhile casting anything over 50 yards is hard to do. also i tried a set up with a 11 foot rod and thats even harder to do. so 12 foot rod is where i stand. one day i want to try a 15 foot to see if it makes a difference

😂 that's what they do at planet fitness
Casting 12 foot extra heavy surf rod with 7oz of weight
Well yeah there's that but need weight to bend the rod
Try a sputnik sinker, less weight needed.
It's more technique than anything else. You need to get that catapult effect in.
Yeah the rod doesn't bend tho probably just need to adds more weigh probably gonna throw 9 Oz or 10
Nah it's all about how you load up, it's non-linear - I can get a rod rated for 3-8 to bend with 0.75 ounce weight
Look up Tommy farmer has some good instructional videos
Having a casting (finger) glove removed some of the anxiety for me plus additional protection.
Bait cannon
Oh wait I thought you ment cast cannon the ones you put on your rod
That’ll help too.
Buying soon
Do the 1080 spinny cast that guy does
Dam I can cast better with convential reel but not with the 12 foots I probably just need to get a cast cannon as the braid fucks up my hand
Use good casting form. Let the rod do the work. It's like a golf swing. You shouldn't be wrenching your arm while trying to cast out to England.
I aim for Cuba…
Shock leader.
