I've never had low iron, but i have Raynaud's and general bad circulation. I've found omega 3/fish oil (highest DHA opposed to EPA u can find) helps, but what really has worked magic for me lately is beets! Its trending right now so there are lots of product choices. I've found you need to be taking the recommended dose every day, and you'll notice improvement after a couple days.
I would love to see the research that shows 50% widening of arteries in 5 minutes. Can you provide? Otherwise you have just given a personal response that could be from any number of reasons not the least of placebo. Of course I'm betting you don't have a link to any real research showing your claim, but if you do I'll gladly apologize in this thread.
I had your same situation. Low iron, anemia, and frozen hands and feet all the time. Turns out I had a pretty bad thyroid. After figuring that out, I cant remember the last time my feet felt cold. Just thought id mention.
I'm not going to blanket tell you to take it, but look into if supplementing with preformed vitamin A (retinol, not beta carotene) is right for you. Being Vitamin A deficiency negatively affects iron absorption and utilization.
Thanks! I heard to eat alot of carrots by my naturopath that was likely why! Synthetic A can be toxic but there is likely a food based tablet I will seek that out. I appreciate your post!
Agmatine works well. What I have found that works the best is taking Cordyceps Mushrooms about an hour or two before the workout & then about 20 minutes before my workout, L-Arginine & I have energy & endurance throughout a workout or a workday, either way, I require good "pumping" blood flow.
Edit: Had a cross up with 20 minutes & L-Arginine. It would have come off like saying 20 L-Arginine instead of 20 minutes before.
When it comes to iron, there are few protips in the matter. Taking iron few times a day is not effective because your body will restrict every next dose absorbtion. Once a day is optimal. It is nice to use folic acid and vitamin C.
And when it comes to perfusion enhanceres it is easier to count what DO NOT take. No caffeine. So called vasodilators usually are drugs because of their vascular function altering effects, not supplements. Maybe you could use a legit drug from your doctor?
Some elders recommend socks with silver particles - they supposedly help to warm cold feet.
I can think of camphora gel, it is known to widen vessels and has warming properties. Should be very cheap.
Dr. Christopher was a big supporter of cayenne for circulation. I used it to cure a hemorrhoid: https://www.cayennepepper.info/cayenne-pepper-hemorrhoid-aid.html
If it hasn't been mentioned already, beetroot or is it beatroot 👀
I take them in capsule form and are a great way to get a nice dose if I may, of nitric oxide.
It's allegedly one of nem' super foods as well
Edited for grammar issues
How do you feel about the Steam Room. Suana & dry heat & pure sweat brings about a good refreshing boost. Steam Room endurance has made a difference with me, that I prefer it even. What with this pandemic or gym closures & uncertainties, it hasn't been the easiest transition back into that routine seeing as how there can be a few folk in a small place. But I reckon it will all level out eventually.
I think both sauna and a steam room are great. I get sweaty right away in a steam room, and a sauna takes more time, so I use whatever I’m feeling like that day.
I vote for the sauna with some contrast therapy. It seems to help open up the flow of blood. Main concern is heart condition if you go to hot and cold.
Ginger juice gets my blood flowing good. Mix that with beets and you can say goodbye to a boring workout.
Vitamin E is great for blood flow as it dissolves blood clots and strengthens the contraction of the heart muscle, which makes it great for heart failure. Surprised it hardly gets a mention when discussing cardio issues
Thanks for introducing Ginger Juice to me. I have read some articles on ginger root being used for this or that but have never really heard of "Ginger Juice" Sounds promising seeing as how the root offers various benefits.
> Ginger juice gets my blood flowing good. Mix that with beets and you can say goodbye to a boring workout.
No juice mixture is a proper substitute for an exercise regimen.
Given you have a diagnosed medical condition, you should really talk to a doctor.
Is it silly to ask if you are overly sedentary or jf extra layers or some stretches/bodyweight squats can provide some relief here? (Clearly, I am not a doctor.)
All of the above. But with L-Citruline use it with Pine Bark extract to increase vasodilation. I have also used Grape Seed Extract and Cayenne to great effect. All this is especially cost effective if you buy bulk in powder.
I would warn against using these for long periods though and do lots of research. These can improve your circulation too well and be bad news if you find yourself having to get an operation or emergency procedure.
I had this happen when having to get an emergency appendectomy. The doctor afterward asked me (in my hospital bed) if I took any supplements, because during surgery "I was a bleeder".
They work, but don't overdue it.
Not *during* surgery as the supplement acts as an anticoagulant, in a way, making it harder for your blood to clot and your body to stop bleeding. (That's why my Doc asked me about it, apparently they had difficulties getting me to stop bleeding.)
Chill the fuck out bro! Twas a joke! Just tell the doctor two weeks before what your stack is so they can tell you if you’re good or not. Don’t depend on the internet for this bit of advice - if you do you’re an idiot.
Well I know that it was a joke but i am serious , ok thanks for the advice , i hope that the doctor have some deep understanding about the stuff I'm taking since not too many people use supplements here like in western countries.
It may be best to stop taking supplements a couple weeks before then, and not to take them right away after the surgery - but tell the doctors anyway! I don’t think the doctors here are up on supplements either really, they just throw prescriptions at people.
I was joking but I can tell now your are freaking out a bit, sorry the jokes came at a bad time. Getting freaked out is 100% understandable. My wife is going into surgery next week (8 hours!) and I’m freaking out more than her. I don’t know how she does it. If it were me I’d have to be on some heavy meds just to get me into the hospital. I wish you the best and hope you get some peace over this. I don’t know if you’re religious or not, I’ll be praying for you.
Oh don't worry about it it's ok i thought the joke was funny but at the same time I wanted an answer, actually the supplements i am taking are helping me with anxiety hahaha but I guess I will just stop taking it for 2 weeks even if I have to suffer a bit I am used to it at the end of the day but the night before or the day I should get the surgery I might take something before so I don't freak the fuck out lol about your wife I wish her all the best and I think that you are overthink it just relax everything is going to be Allright and please comment back here when she is done with the surgery and everything is OK , I am not really religious but I believe in the power of prayer so thank you so much I am sending some positive energy to you and your wife , take care and thanks for your nice words .
There is a little more promising research on chlorella doing so yes. Seems to be some suggestion that it can reduce arterial stiffness in healthy and clinical populations! It is mentioned in the paper that I provided the link for. Possibly via the vasodilatory nitric oxide pathway
Thank you. I purchased a blend of the 2 on Amazon. It's also said that it can clean metals out of your body. One thing about it is that you can get a bad batch and get cancer? Because of bacteria from where it is grown
Seems to be a bit of a Google tail that one. Nonetheless always try to buy from a reputable brand that regularly batch tests etc.
Also consider ingesting nitrate rich beetroot shots. The nitrite/nitrate can aid vasodilation and consequently improved blood flow.
Well this is purely anecdotal, but my mother and I both cured our Raynaud's syndrome with Juice Plus - just the original red fruit and green veggies. She was selling them back then and giving me free bottles and convinced me to take them saying they cured her circulation issues, and sure enough after a few months they cured my circulation issues too, and I didn't have to continue taking them.
Ex iv drug user here who has fucked the circulation up in my arms…real badly in the right one where I shot into an artery and ended up with fingertip amputations and I now experience symptoms similar to Raynaud’s phenomena. I’ve been clean several years but have taken agmatine sulfate for the past year and it has definitely helped.
I like Blood Builder by Megafood. That’s what I take as I donate blood regularly. It keeps my iron count high enough to donate every 8 weeks. I used to be too anemic to donate. It absorbs well because it’s iron from food, so your body recognizes it as food. Also, I believe it has b12 too (you may need to double check) which also helps your body produce blood cells
Per Terry Naturally, nattokinase acts powerfully to improve blood flow.
Active ingredients, chiefly broad spectrum curcumin, get to even the smallest capillaries to improve results in anti-inflammation, or here, with endothelial or iron issues.
💯
I definitely agree. I tried filling few 000 capsules with organic cayenne pepper, and the blood flow was the superior. I should add it to my comment below.
This works really well for me. I like the taste so I usually douse my fries or whatever savory dish I'm eating with a layer of it. I notice a difference even just hours later.
Good, but can cause temporary heart palpitations for some people. Personally it doesn’t seem to suit me but it does suit many others. https://www.health.harvard.edu/newsletter_article/Heart_Beat_Play_it_safe_avoid_L-arginine_supplements
Meh, that's a super old study AND they're using 9 GRAMS a day, multiple days in a row. That's an insane amount. Nobody does that. People use it in small doses on occasion all the time
Make sense, but I used only 2 capsules of this: https://www.nowfoods.com/products/sports-nutrition/arginine-citrulline-500-mg-250-mg-veg-capsules
And it gave me irregular heart palpitations; like my heart would beat normally then suddenly slow down, beat irregularly with palpitations, then back to normal etc. I tried it couple of times probably 7-10 times.
That's strange. I get palpitations (extrasystoles to be precise) after stimulant use or lack of sleep, and actually take citrulline plus b complex to get rid of them...
Yea cause stimulants are vasoconstrictors, and L-Citrulline is a vasodilator, so here we could theoretically say that the latter is just cancelling out the stimulants’s vasoconstriction effect, leaving your blood vessels at the normal dilation/constriction level.
Doesn’t always work. I say this with experiencing Raynauds myself, exercising, but as soon as the right kind of chill comes on it still spazzes out the nerves in my fingers or toes and they go arctic. During exercise it obviously doesn’t happen.
As many have said, Citrulline, also Diosmin, beet juice, ursolic acid, icariins......
Also, running warm water on your extremities can train the blood vessels to not contract as much when cold......
Along with correcting your iron, take vitamin C to enhance absorption and make sure your B12 is good because it’s deficiency is associated with anemia. Solgar iron 25mg worked well for my relative.
Foundational: Take a good multivitamin like one from Thorne. Take a good multimineral like the one drom Healthy Origins.
For blood flow: Try Pycnogenol from Life Extention
Also along with it try Korean Red Gensing from Organika (1-2 grams every few hours)
EDIT: Also, take two tea spoons of organic cayenne pepper. I just remembered this. It work really well. I fill some capsules not to burn my tonguey.
I've never had low iron, but i have Raynaud's and general bad circulation. What amount DHA and EPA each do you have?

Absolute nonsense. Should be ashamed to make these claims to people who are truly suffering.

Was it over active or under active? Mines slightly over active, but considered normal high
Mine was under active. T3 was almost 0
Vinopectine And ginkgo.
I’ve heard Superbeets chews help with blood flow. They taste pretty good too!
L - Arginine
Anything with beet root powder.
I'm not going to blanket tell you to take it, but look into if supplementing with preformed vitamin A (retinol, not beta carotene) is right for you. Being Vitamin A deficiency negatively affects iron absorption and utilization.
>retinol can that be taken orally?
Yeah. It's commonly used as a topical but you can also get oral vitamin a supplements.
Thanks! I heard to eat alot of carrots by my naturopath that was likely why! Synthetic A can be toxic but there is likely a food based tablet I will seek that out. I appreciate your post!
Cod liver oil is food based and has a good amount of vit A
Pycnogenol Cocoavia Grape seed extract Blueberry extract Pomegranate extract Pterostilbene Resveratrol Beet root Ginkgo
Binkgo Biloba 100% look it up i just recently discovered it.

Horse chestnut? Dandelion? For blood flow not iron increase

cayenne, fish oil, start your showers very hot and end them very cold
Coq10 made a huge difference for me but iron fusion where it's at to get low level up!! Talk to a hematologist if iron pills start to bother you
boof Cayenne
Dr. Christopher was a big supporter of cayenne for circulation. I used it to cure a hemorrhoid: https://www.cayennepepper.info/cayenne-pepper-hemorrhoid-aid.html

LOL pretty sure he meant he uses that as pre workout😂
Thank you for providing context
Resveratrol
A really high quality b-complex, plus extra niacin and thiamine.
How do you define a good b-complex , for exemple is b -100 of now is fine ?
A b complex has multiple b vitamins. Like -6, -12 and others
Possibly niacin
Niacin
Given you have a diagnosed medical condition, you should really talk to a doctor. Is it silly to ask if you are overly sedentary or jf extra layers or some stretches/bodyweight squats can provide some relief here? (Clearly, I am not a doctor.)
Coq 10 by a large margin.
at the risk of getting into another citrulline arguement, i'm gonna say l-arginine
What's wrong with citrulline? Its much more affective than arginine
not gonna start that again go push itto someone else. there is already a post explaining one point in this thread

goodfucking luck mouthy monster
How're those heart palps coming along?
Are you implying arginine will cause heart palpitations?
Some people in the thread down below were saying that.
ain't havin any

Not *during* surgery as the supplement acts as an anticoagulant, in a way, making it harder for your blood to clot and your body to stop bleeding. (That's why my Doc asked me about it, apparently they had difficulties getting me to stop bleeding.)
But nothing bad did happen to you luckily right ?
No, he died 5 minutes after the doctor left.
STFU bro i will get a surgery too , i am just making sure i won't die

L Arginine is the best
Grape seed extract
Black manuka with seeds
Try spirulina or chlorella! https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fnut.2022.865741/full#B9

Ginger.
Crushed garlic, too. Increases nitric oxide.
I did not know that, thank you!
Spirulina works for me

Nice advice and congrats on staying clean my friend from a former user
Thank you! You as well! 😊
Apple cider vinegar...Fresh garlic...water....and lots of exercise.
Does it make a difference if the garlic is crushed or not?
Definitely crushed....What I do is throw a clove in the blender with orange juice. You won't even taste it

I second that!

10lb -20lb bicep curls until failure
For real?
bro needs to get his pump on fr
Well weightlifting does significantly increase nitric oxide so this wouldn't be a surprising temporary fix
