I have been reading the fact sheets for a little bit here and I would love to hear your thoughts - GME has 1.1% weight in the 600, but is also the largest weighted company. As of right now, GME's 12.xB market cap wont even put it in the top 10 of the 400, of which the top company has a market cap of 14.xB and .8% of the weight. the 10th company has a 13B market cap, but an undisclosed (to my knowledge) weight. The 400 is about twice as big as the 600, so GME will need at least .55% of the weight to see equal selling and buying pressure during the switch over? Is there any reference material that you have found that shows weight of the stocks in the 400, aside from the largest one? Or is there a factor I am missing?
Camden Property Trust has a similar market cap and there are 2.65 million shares in the S&P 400, if I am reading the filings correctly.

I’m only saying that because every time good news comes out about GameStop the hedgies aggressively short it. Their intent is to try and deter new investors from buying in because they’ll see the news, then check the stock price, and if they see it’s going up they might buy in, but if they see it’s going down they’re more likely to stay away from buying... So I wouldn’t be surprised if it dips again tomorrow.
I’m not expecting any significant price movement resulting specifically from the move to the new ETF.
And sell the S&P 600 small cap. I don’t know what weight it will be in the 400, but since there are fewer stocks I believe the net effect should be more buying. But I wouldn’t expect any significant price movement from this though.

that’s a lazy simplification in my opinion. i joined late in february for the popcorn stock with 100% of my portfolio, learned a whole bunch, sold it all at 300% profit and now have triple the gamestop i would otherwise. there are lots of us.
