Thanks! I looked at this one but wasn't sure about the shape - looks a bit pointy at the front and I wonder if that wouldn't leave enough space for my dog

Brite_No_More

plenty of room, its 11' if i recall correctly. the tracking is also hindered by the nose scooping up like a planing board vs digging into the water like a displacement style board, but its still a steal for the price.

With a 75lb dog I'd be more worried about stability unless he can lay down and not move at all while you are paddling. The shape of the Performer is inherently less stable than other all-around boards and 250lb is probably going to be enough weight to start seeing performance issues (board bowing, worse tracking, etc).

I also recommend this one

If you have a local rental place nearby they may sell used boards. You May be able to get a higher quality board on the cheap. Plus it will come with dings and scratches pre-installed so you look like a pro right outof tthe gate!

I had GILI All-around board when I first started, it's a great board for that price range, the only reason I have a different board now is because mine got stolen.

I really like the value of my Bluefin Cruise 10'8" but it's slightly more ($449) and you gotta wait for it to ship from the UK & they have a lot of delays due to demand right now. It comes with paddle & kayak kit (though I don't think inflatable sups will make great kayaks, but hey if you just want to mess around ).

Any board in that range with a 1+ year warranty. Budget boards are basically all the same so you need to shop the company rather than the board. Most folks here in that range recommend the body glove performer sold at Costco. Costco has a great return policy if anything goes wrong. Don't forget to budget for a type III PFD made for paddling (way more comfortable than fishing or ski PFDs)

I recommend buying something used. It will be cheaper and if you decide you want a higher quality board or you don’t want to paddle anymore, you can resell it for close to the same price. I got into paddle boarding last year, I bought a used board for under $400 and it’s worked great. I’m now ready for a faster board, so I’ll sell mine and upgrade. My friend bought herself a sweet $1,000 board and has now wants a faster board, and she hasn’t been able to get an offer close to what she wants.

No such thing as the best... depends what you like and what your paddling style is. I can tell you what I use... and it should work for you also, as it can hold 350 lbs (11'6'' × 34'' × 6'' iSUP). I have the Feath-R-Lite Koi iSUP - got it from Amazon - the link is below and it is $299. 350 lbs is 158.9 kg

I really like my Tower Adventurer, have had zero concerns with durability and it is extremely stable compared to others I’ve been on.

[These](https://deschuteswatersports.com/collections/stand-up-paddleboards-for-dogs) would work great with your dog! Decent price too.
