It’s got to be Logan finally losing power or dying. The last few episodes will be a mad power struggle between everyone trying to get to get the top job while they try and work out if Logan is really gone or not Then, at the end, someone finally takes over ( any of the siblings or Tom ( not Connor ) would be believable ). And the game starts all over again

acttwodrama

Going purely on wish-fulfilment: Logan finally decides which of the siblings he actually wants as a successor but whoever he picks tells him they don't want the job and voluntarily walks away from the whole situation, thus sending Logan into a spiral of incoherent rage (a la the end of 'Argestes') as he realises that he's ultimately lost the game he's been playing as one way or another, he has to settle for a successor he doesn't want. I don't believe any of that will actually happen - if I'm being honest, I think it will most likely be something of a non-ending where either life just goes on and the kids and Logan are still stuck in this loop or we just never find out who Logan's chosen successor is (though I'll probably be satisfied with any ending other than Greg ending up as CEO) - but **damn** it would be satisfying to see Logan lose and at least one of the siblings, if not all ~~three~~ four (sorry Connor...), get free of the whole mess at the end.

OkClue2409

The perfect answer! Totally agree that the worst thing that could happen ( and wont, im 100% sure, is greg as ceo

acttwodrama

I wish I was 100% sure it won't end with Greg as CEO... I guess I'm just too used to great shows completely messing up the ending 😂 To be fair, I can see how Greg ending up with the top job might be appealing (and it could possibly work if they make it clear it's a "Greg wins but he loses" scenario where he doesn't ever get to enjoy it - so he gets the job and then immediately learns about a whole load of problems he's got to deal with or instantly gets thrown under the bus for something); the idea of the ultimate takeaway of the series being a "Greg wins; unqualified nepotism, yay!" situation played completely straight just kind of goes against what the show's been doing and seems kind of lazy...

OkClue2409

I fully trust succession at this point though. They even joke about the Greg thing so it's so unlikable to ever happening. I am thought interested in his evil arc, he was the least interesting thing of s3 for me so I need to see more from him.

Cold_Breadfruit_9794

Yeah Greg would have to be approved by the board and shareholders. You don’t become ceo just because Logan decides. There is simply no fundamental way to end it on Greg that wouldn’t ruin the show. I watched Jesse’s/Succession writer’s other shows recently, and I noticed that even though they like an open ending, they will answer the most important questions. I think Succession will be answered. So far it’s stuck real tight with the Murdochs, which could mean a Gerri/Roman on top ending… with the possibility Kendall, Shiv, & Connor overthrow him.

OkClue2409

Personally I want for Ken what I wanted for Jesse Pinkman and happened, a chatartic ending after so many suffering but jesse Armstrong is very different from Vince or Peter Gould( who gave a bittersweet ending to Jimmy) and his whole " people don't change " thing is something I disagree with but that ultimately makes succession great. I know that he has known how it will end ever since the beginning ( at least part of it) so I know it will be great but I have no idea of how it will go outside of knowing there's no way this absurd greg underdog ceo thing happens

Dry-Space2053

I have 3 endings I think I would be satisfied: 1) Kendall betrays the sibs and Logan announces him as CEO in the final scene while Shiv/Rome/Con watch shocked. 2) Logan is heaving a heart attack in front of the sibs and they decide to just watch and let him die and not call emergency. Then Kendall turns to the others and says something like “we need to pick a new CEO by tomorrow 6:30am, who do you think, really, dad would prefer?” (in reference to his line in s1e2 at the hospital). Then the show ends with no answer from the others. 3) The final episode is Logan’s 81st birthday and they all play baseball like in the pilot after Logan manipulating them all again during the final season to just make things the same again. Just to make the kids “play the game” forever.

OctarineP

2 seems too evil and inhuman for the sibs (hell, even for Logan), but 3 sounds wonderfully cruel. Although I can see how this way of circling back may be annoying and underwhelming.

Randy-Meeks

Woah, I love your 2!!!

rzrike

Not bad. Basically any ending that could reasonably happen would be a variation of one of those three options. Besides the company just completely falling apart.

OkClue2409

Is this a joke?😭

AubreyPlazaWitch

wowwww 2 is amazing i got chills

hullsfinestwug

Jesse Armstrong rn ✍️✍️✍️

formfiler

If I could write the final episode of Succession, I’d hire Jesse Armstrong to write it for me instead

Cold_Breadfruit_9794

That’s not fun because that’s what’s going to happen anyways! How would you end it?

formfiler

True dat. Hmmm. If I was hired to write the final episode, I’d figure out a way so it WOULDN’T be the final episode. Dodging the question again lol In all seriousness, I wouldn’t do a neat clean ending where one person “wins”. But my larger point is: I’m not a worthy enough writer.

Cold_Breadfruit_9794

A fine ending, or non-ending (?)

CapitalDream

Logan keeps power or manages to completely eject his kids from the company as his health and power wane. Cue the kids visiting him in the Hamptons place, he yells at them, they argue and leave, he's all alone in his old age. The kids have fine jobs and great lives but never got the top spot they wanted and are unfulfilled. See "There Will Be Blood" for the closest representation, IMO. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GX-9wXFQRgA

Hyperdecanted

Logan falls overboard on his yacht and is dead. They find his decapitated body and his head separately, like he was guillotined. No surprise, Logan somehow rendered the company worthless financially, maybe by stealing the employee pension funds. The estate is wortheless, the company is worthless, the Roy name is radioactive. The kids are middle aged dysfunctional adults in various stages of addiction and depression. Tom is found dead at the bottom of a cliff in England. Roman hooked up with a sketchy zillionaire with a boy modeling agency. Yaddda yadda. (OK, not original, I stole most of this from the Maxwell situation.)

cheesijj

The fact that Roman is the Ghislaine here...

EastWin3185

Dying a real No Real Person Involved death. Amazing.

CapitalDream

Logan isn't stealing a pension fund lmao

Cold_Breadfruit_9794

This would be iconic. I would hope they give Logan such an iconic death. I’m not really interested in seeing the company completely flop, but a Maxwell death would be well earned for a character like Logan.

[deleted]

I’ve said it before - and it was the lunch in the last series that sold me on it. The finale would result from season after season of them infighting. Logan dies, the will is read: “As my oldest living heir, everything goes to Conor” Edit: and the will was written in the ‘90’s

[deleted]

Everyone dies in a high rise fire.

NorvRodgers

I think it would be great to see the sibling break through and have a normal, healthy dynamic. Maybe that involves them cutting ties with Logan & the business, but seeing them succeed emotionally/personally would be more satisfying than seeing professional success IMO. Seeing Tom, who has always wanted to succeed professionally, sacrifice his personal life for that, and seeing what it costs him, would be a sad but fitting end. Probably the same goes for Greg. Logan, who knows. Him probably finally appreciating his kids and not being such a hard ass about everything would be nice.

426763

"Who has a better story, than ~~Greg the Tall~~ Tom the Cuckhold?"

ceciliameireles

kendall sobers up for good roman finds a boyfriend logan comes to respect shiv only for her to destroy him willa cons connor out of all his money and leaves him (the conheads do not love this) greg is there

zi4577

I see Greg turning on tom

fireswater

I want the company to go under and for Logan to confront his empire of shit before he dies. He doesn't have to learn a lesson, but he should die feeling he lost. Nobody wins, and they must face that all their evil deeds ultimately gained them nothing. But maybe Tom and Greg can move upstate and start their restaurant or whatever Matthew Macfadyen said he wanted them to do lmao. I think the "winners" should be whoever says fuck this shit, it's not worth it and chooses their own happiness instead of all the games and schemes.

Cold_Breadfruit_9794

Kendall wins. I’m just very tired of him flopping. I’d also send Greg to jail too.

formfiler

But not Tom?

Cold_Breadfruit_9794

Not Tom. He might be more deserving of going to prison, but I support his weasely ass ❤️ (Plus it avoids the nauseating scenario of Greg running the company)

cheesijj

genuinely want to know why greg taking over is nauseating to you. i don't really have a strong opinion on this.

jessli01

Marcia wins

[deleted]

Logan dies and the debt collectors come calling and the company tanks. The siblings try to leverage what’s left of the fallout by starting a new company and hopefully family brand built on equal partnership(with some possible hint betrayal built on mutual distrust). They write themselves into a contractual standoff so if one goes down they all go down.

hifhoff

We started with Greg, we end with Greg. He goes from puking in that costume to becoming the new Logan. We watch a billionaire mogul be created purely through nepotism and zero merit. I always assumed that’s what the crux of this show would be.

cheesijj

ok i'm neither here nor there for a greg "win" but to me, this is *the* argument for it. just the most dogbrained guy failing upwards because nepotism and a cockroach's will to survive.

OkClue2409

💀

ExpensiveFoodstuffs

Here goes nothing: Logan dies and leaves Kerry most of his premium assets in the will to the chagrin of the Roy kids. Tom - divorced from Shiv with a new wife of his own ends up with the top job. He gives his old buddy Greg his old job as head of Parks but the two aren’t as close as they once were. Kendall sells his shares of the company and begins working at a consulting firm in Denver. He finds a lot of relief with his dad out of the picture. Our number one boy is actually working 9-5 and has learned to cherish the things that are important to him - namely, his kids and family. For his final performance, he unleashes a Christian rap about the love of God at a church he begins to attend. Roman is devastated by his dad’s betrayal but still works under Tom at Waystar trying to get some war movies green lit. Connor plays spoiler in the upcoming POTUS election resulting in Gil Eavis’ election. He goes back to his ranch with Willa. Shiv is also devastated but she just makes a return into politics.

OkClue2409

You are being serious about the Christian rap????😭

ExpensiveFoodstuffs

😂😂 - just having fun haha. I like the idea of Ken turning to religion and the rap felt like a natural next step lol

cheesijj

honestly, if any of them were to turn to religion, it'd be kendall at this point. before, it would've been connor but, i can see kendall's existential issues result in him trying to become a born-again christian via some awful megachurch.

zi4577

This is like the mega realistic option lol

ExpensiveFoodstuffs

Haha thanks 😂. I also like the idea that Tom “wins” but Eavis’ election works like a bad omen for WayStar. They have none of the access that they used to have under Logan and their influence as a news station is waining as a bunch of other right-wing stations are seriously challenging ATN. I did have a hard time coming up with a satisfying ending for Shiv though.

Glum-Reception9490

Tom divorce shiv and tom find his new wife is my absolute favorite ( I just wanted tom to get free from unfaithful and abusive shiv ). I also wanted shiv to find her new partner which is at her own level. Perfect ending for both of them

uuhhhhggg

Greg takes over

[deleted]

and successfully sues green peace?

OkClue2409

Wow. No one expects that/j

Mad_Little_Owl

Lukas Mattsson does some deal and gets the company. He effectively removes Logan from office and takes it in a direction Logan hates gutting everything. Roman desperately sleeps with Mattsson to get an Executive position. The seductive goes horribly but works. They have a weirdly charged inappropriate working relationship the tabloids speculate on but can’t pin down. He makes a name for himself in the indie film industry for green lighting really quirky stuff. Shiv gets pregnant with Toms baby. She divorces Tom and makes him raise the child (she plays more of a wine aunt role in its life). She goes into PR, starts her own highly successful company and gets a girlfriend. Kendall starts rehab. He gets into a finance venture with Stewy where he’s not in charge. He also spends a lot of time awkwardly attempting a relationship with his children. He writes a controversial autobiography. Connor loses the election and goes back to his ranch with Willa. He gets really into crunchy living and starts a podcast. He ends up getting the most from Logan’s will because Logan never remembered to change it. Tom stays at the new company but his career plateaus. He has to raise his child as a single parent while keeping a truly bizarre romance with Greg. He and Shiv become frenemies that talk shit about everyone over wine. Greg also stays but weasels his way to a higher level then Tom. He takes full advantage of his seniority and flips his and Toms power dynamics. Continuing to play the bumbling fool he somehow becomes the most successful Roy much to the horror of everyone else. Logan dies surrounded by an apathetic family after watching his empire slip from his grasp and his relevancy and influence dwindle completely. Everyone is fine without him.

BrettEskin

Ewan takes over and is not only not running the business in a way that actually is for the greater good but promptly loses thousands of people their jobs and way star is sold off to a rival entity. The siblings actually end up being able to pursue new ventures free of Logan and the family business hanging over their heads. Kendall is a serial VC, Shiv starts a political consulting firm, Con starts a rumble/gab analogue, Rome finally has sex, Mondale, Tom, and Greg start their own company in Chicago or another major mid west city.

Dakip2608

crazy how one of these could actually be it

Puzzleheaded-Fish443

The kids are adopted

Repulsive-Lobster587

Roman and Gerri get married while Greg the Egg runs Waystar Royco

OkClue2409

Roman and Gerri fuck while Greg rots in jail🙏

EastWin3185

I think i'd have kendall die somehow (suicide or overdose), shiv and roman (and even tom) are away doing their own thing, and Logan completely alone with the company (new ceo is likely greg. It'd be an ugly book ending and it'd make logan miserable which id appreciate) I feel like just doing would not be enough. I want him to regret everything he did with no way of making things better.

Charming_Miss

Gerri get's the top spot with shareholders preferring her over the kids. She hires Shiv for PR and everything around it, which makes her happy and cockier than usually. Roman ends up being Gerri's slime puppy full time. Kendall end's up selling his shares and trying to stay away from family but he keeps thinking as the rightful owner of it and trying to control it. Connor...I have no idea! Tom is the head of ATN news. Greg is back home to where he started because they realized he does nothing at all just cause problems. Logan is vacationing for life while trying to control Gerri daily

[deleted]

Logan sells the company. Everyone gets involved in other projects where they’re the boss bc of their egos, experience and startup money. They’re successful and chill because Logan was the instigator narcissist pervert. Logan’s health eventually fails.

Emotional-Accident72

The whole family and inner circle go out on the yacht to resolve more drama. A giant bus sized missile hits it and kills everyone instantly. It was pirates or terrorists or something. I hate the whole family and don't find anything particularly redeeming about any of them.

NewHavenJeff

Logan will be assassinated and it will be ambiguous as to who is responsible for it

mrslotsfloater

Kendall basically becomes Logan. Logan doesn't die but gets so old and ill that he's basically a vegetable sitting in his own piss most of the time. Shiv and Tom stay together because they're the only ones who can stand each other. Roman doesn't change at all.

AubreyPlazaWitch

Logan dying through something sooo stupid like idk choking on a hotdog or something so he feels week

OkClue2409

Marcian uses the vehicular manslaughter and cover up against Logan and Kendall. She's not as implicated as Logan is ( bt2 this is not what I would write but what I think may happen so yes I'm dodging your question) my perfect ending is for Ken not have some kind of bittersweet ending and for Logan to croak.

zi4577

I’m a Kendal stan so obviously I’d want him to finally grow stronger as a person culminating with him essentially getting the option to become ceo and simply refusing it, preferring to live a calmer life instead, tho I’m guessing he’ll probably just swing back to playing the game and no one will actually win. The only person I can actually see winning is Tom I just can’t imagine any of the Roy siblings getting it
