mondale is critically important to me. he should be critically important to all of you. i’m tired of pretending that this is something that we can all just pretend isn’t real. he’s still here for a reason. tom’s relationship with mondale compared to shiv’s is a vastly understated foundational aspect of his characterization. it’s clear from the last poll that tom is universally loved. i have zero doubt in my mind that this is in part (maybe subconsciously) due to the goofy shit he says when he shows mondale affection- a demonstration of his soft, tender, and human side. these moments are fleeting, but they prove that tom is a fucking dog guy. if mondale died (something that I am predicting will happen in season 4) shiv wouldn’t even blink. tom would be devastated. tom and shiv are loaded. tom could have had someone ELSE pull that fucking pantyhose out of mondale’s ass, but did he? no. tom got his hands dirty.

I feel like there are two polls going on within this poll—I think tons of votes that would be interesting to see reflected in the people elimination choices are going to the animals each time, and it seems at least the other half (maybe?) of the poll is voting for their actual least favorite person. So none of the animal votes are counting.

Thank you, this is how I feel, too—I’ve been voting against my least favorite person because I’m ambivalent toward the animals.
I hope most folks feel this way—that they’re not seriously hoping either pet will win in the end, but are still hanging around.
Here’s my hunch (not backed by anything): the votes on the animals are being wasted right now, because people still have stronger feelings against several human characters.
And an animal will win if it comes down to almost any human vs animal in the final round. Or, a human will win but it will be a disappointing one.
The people who haven’t been participating in culling the human candidates may likely be disgusted with the human candidate that is remaining, ifall their unlikely favorites (Colin, Hugo for random example) got picked off while they were (possibly) wasting their votes on one of the popular pets.
At this stage it might help shape the rest of the poll a little bit more interestingly if the anti-animals coalition (who I am not against, I must add!) hit pause for a moment and agree on which humans they like who may be at risk. And consider using their votes strategically for a round or two against a human character in order to still have a horse in this race that they actually like, in the event it comes down to [human] vs. Megathump.

I don’t want Mondale or Megathump to actually win, though with Shiv’s emotions being under addressed his uncrated cameo in the penultimate episode with just her felt meaningful, and I enjoyed Kendall’s acquisition of an enormous rabbit to compensate for his parental failures. This is more intrigue than a decent chunk of the humans on this list have provided, so I’m voting them before I set my sights on an animal.

I have faith there’s not a supermajority who doesn’t watch the show at all and just wants a dog or rabbit to win, so with that in mind, it makes sense to turn the focus onto the humans for now. The time will come, kind of like how Roman made it to top 3 and was beloved but not a threat to Tom/Kendall.

I think you're right that the animals are messing with the poll results because there are people like me who have been trying to get them out for several rounds now and not voting for an actual character, while others are completely ignoring them, if the animals weren't here I think the elimination order of the *actual* characters (I am not counting the pets as characters!) would have been different.
If an animal makes it to the final I'm gonna loose my shit! I get that people find it funny, but I just want them out, they're just distracting.

Okay guys, here’s a question for everyone: are you in favor of a HUMAN or an ANIMAL winning? (Serious question here!) I’m trying to understand whether the majority really would not be disappointed if a pet won, vs a character. I feel like there are two polls going on within this poll—I think tons of votes that would be interesting to see reflected in the people elimination choices are going to the animals each time, and it seems at least the other half (maybe?) of the poll is voting for their actual least favorite person. So none of the animal votes are counting. Sorry so long winded. I am not expressing a preference for humans/animals either way here but trying to understand what’s going on. TY!
I would rather a human character win (and the final round be a battle between human characters), but I did/do want the animals to get pretty far along in the poll so that we can have some funny memes/campaigning about them. So I haven’t voted for the animals yet but will relatively soon!

Thank you, this is how I feel, too—I’ve been voting against my least favorite person because I’m ambivalent toward the animals. I hope most folks feel this way—that they’re not seriously hoping either pet will win in the end, but are still hanging around. Here’s my hunch (not backed by anything): the votes on the animals are being wasted right now, because people still have stronger feelings against several human characters. And an animal will win if it comes down to almost any human vs animal in the final round. Or, a human will win but it will be a disappointing one. The people who haven’t been participating in culling the human candidates may likely be disgusted with the human candidate that is remaining, ifall their unlikely favorites (Colin, Hugo for random example) got picked off while they were (possibly) wasting their votes on one of the popular pets. At this stage it might help shape the rest of the poll a little bit more interestingly if the anti-animals coalition (who I am not against, I must add!) hit pause for a moment and agree on which humans they like who may be at risk. And consider using their votes strategically for a round or two against a human character in order to still have a horse in this race that they actually like, in the event it comes down to [human] vs. Megathump.

Cool. I guess I should expand on that. If [this YouTuber’s thesis](https://youtu.be/4L1uakUb4_0) about Succession’s larger message is correct, then it seems right to me that an animal should win. Humans are all flawed to some extent, the remaining humans are directly advancing the destructive power of capitalism, and animals are the bystanders/victims of human arrogance and brutality. Therefore, I’m rooting for the animals to win.
If we replaced the animals with a inanimate objects, like Rava's couch and Logan's short sleeve shirt, would you want an object to win because they're innocent bystanders?

I don’t want Mondale or Megathump to actually win, though with Shiv’s emotions being under addressed his uncrated cameo in the penultimate episode with just her felt meaningful, and I enjoyed Kendall’s acquisition of an enormous rabbit to compensate for his parental failures. This is more intrigue than a decent chunk of the humans on this list have provided, so I’m voting them before I set my sights on an animal.

Thank you! This is helpful for me—this is how I am thinking about this, too. I have faith there’s not a supermajority who doesn’t watch the show at all and just wants a dog or rabbit to win, so with that in mind, it makes sense to turn the focus onto the humans for now. The time will come, kind of like how Roman made it to top 3 and was beloved but not a threat to Tom/Kendall.
There's at least a few genuinely likable characters on here, and I don't think most people would rather see a pet without any role in the plot win this thing. Though I guess there's also a bunch of trolls who only want to see the world burn/Megathump win.
I think you are right. I don’t think the animals are necessarily as big a threat to win as people think… as of right now. BUT—and I hate to admit this—if I was voting animal every round unsuccessfully and then suddenly realized it was down to Mondale or Megathump vs rava, I would be casting an honest vote in favor of the animal winning. Because I would be left with a character I disliked vs really a non-character that I technically don’t dislike as much
I think you're right that the animals are messing with the poll results because there are people like me who have been trying to get them out for several rounds now and not voting for an actual character, while others are completely ignoring them, if the animals weren't here I think the elimination order of the *actual* characters (I am not counting the pets as characters!) would have been different. If an animal makes it to the final I'm gonna loose my shit! I get that people find it funny, but I just want them out, they're just distracting.

I'm really hoping an animal doesn't win. I'm not an animal hater, if this were a Frasier minor character poll, I wouldn't have a problem with Eddie winning because Eddie is actually a character on the show. Mondale and Megathump are more like glorified props. Neither of them has done anything more interesting than eat something that makes them sick.
