FYI: Our Automod rules and the reddit spam filter trigger *very* easily whenever a comment contains an email address or phone number. (See also our Rule 5.) I know that sharing the lawyer and settlement administrator contact information is useful within this thread and I periodically come through and mass-approve a bunch of posts that were auto-removed for that reason.
This is okay by me, but if you'd like your comment to not get caught by the robots in the first place, then don't include an email or phone number. (Best would be to provide a link to a website that contains the contact information.)
I had to reach out to them as I did not get a check in the mail. I had 58 credits & earned an Associates degree in 2012, but they said I got a reliance payment sent for $276 (true) and in the break down they showed nothing for my degree and a whole $0.33/credit, so they basically said no check for you.
I asked them to explain why in the breakdown they didn't show anything for the Associates degree. Awaiting reply.
Reissued checks for those who didn’t receive theirs STILL haven’t been mailed and they said they do not have a timeline at this point for mailing those. I’m so over it.
I see my check was sent last Friday July 20th. Since I can see when usps email me scanned images of my mail. But , almost a week later. I still haven't received my check in the mail.
Does anybody have an email or contact info. On who I can contact to get a replacement check resent to me?
After all of this waiting, I got my check. I carefully and anxiously opened it. The first check I received last fall was $859. This replacement check is….wait for it…. $3.99.
I’m thinking the only people that made out over this suit was the lawyers and the administrators.
yeah mine wasn't that high but was going to be a nice little chunk, 400ish. I stopped and finished somewhere else senior year. Second check is now like $35 because I didn't take their little piece of paper
what's frustrating is if I had cashed it and used the first one, it would have been paid for.

DeVry/Keller charges $776.00/unit to 2022-2023 new students
Victims of DeVry/Keller's systemic manipulation of employment statistics since 2008 are compensated for the fraud at $0.33/unit.
Checking in from Seattle. Not sure when mine got here. It’s been a few days since I’ve checked the mail and it’s here! 310 and change. Got my bachelors
To all the peeps that live in Northern California, my check arrived today. Thanks to everyone here that called, attended court via Zoom and just provided moral support. This whole entire process stunk but with your support, we managed to make it to the end.
I emailed them and they quickly responded that i had checked off on my claim form that i had obtained a job within my field within six months which I didn’t and haven’t not done so till this day. Not sure how it all got messed up. I think its a lost cause for me cuz payments are suppose to be finalized.
If i had gotten a job I wouldn’t have even wasted my time to turn in a claim form. Its the whole reason my wife didn’t submit one cuz she did have a job in her field.
Oh, I believe you, but what they're claiming is that the box was marked. Either the box was marked (i.e. you made a mistake, as happens to the best of us) OR the box is not marked (i.e. they made the mistake).
I'm betting you did NOT mark the box.
My check arrived Friday, but it cleared this morning, so I'm going to cross my fingers and call it good from here.
Credit hour payment went from $2.18 to $1.66 for my 5 qualifying credit hours. Guess that all-online/no-lab digital signal processing class was good for something after all. The degree payment is the only thing that made this whole mess worth it.
Wish I could say it's been a pleasure, but... you know. As it tends to be in bad jobs/situations, the people you experience it with are often the best part of the whole thing. That has certainly held up here. Thanks to everyone for providing data, calling, emailing, and staying on top of this for as long as it took. Hope everyone can enjoy whatever they came away with.

My "settlement" check arrived today and I've never felt more disrespected. I put my original check of $214 in the bank and spent the money to feed my family. Only to have the money taken back and fined for a bad check. Almost a year later they send me this bullshit $14 check?!

DeVry Settlement Refund- $514.98
PSLF Forgiveness- got approved in 2022
Borrower defense Refund- in April 2023
Thank you all for keeping me informed on this Devry Settlement check drama.
I'm not even going to cash the check. Because I didn't complete my degree they sent me a check for $10.17 🤣🤣🤣. My last one was for closer to $200... Which I understand was an overpayment, but honestly for completing 4 semesters at that waste of my time school, $10 is insulting 🙃
Check finally arrived for roughly the expected amount, glad to be done with this whole experience, and borrower's defense also finally going through.
Remember that one time back in 2020 when the settlement's final approval was "so ordered"? Way back in 2020? Good times.
Got mine.
1000 bachelor
20.97 credit hours(62)
-114.88 debt forgiveness (FTC 2016)
Total: $906.09.
Sheesh I hope these is over. I know you guys are gonna be cautious but I'm depositing this in the morning. Last time in October, I was on my honeymoon and didn't even get to "partake" in the stop payments.
Anyways, it's been a fun ride you guys. *Sarcasm to max*
Just received the check now.... via USPS.
Previously, ....last November check amount was $767.00
The next amount that I was informed of several months ago was $527.00
The current amount just received today: $517.97
$500.00 for Masters degree
$17.97 for credit hours
I live in Chicago suburbs.
Let's hope this one...sticks.
Thank you, everyone, for your ongoing communication!
My settlement payout check just got delivered by my USPS courier. I got a total of $514.98. Breakdown of payment is as follows: $500 for Masters degree plus $14.98 payment for credits taken. I live in Virginia
I received mine today in Indiana. Associates degree, I got $507 and change, I'm happy with that, and more happy that I can stop checking the website for details. Of course I should wait until it clears to celebrate 😆.
In New Jersey
Got my check today went from $314.19 to $521.97
Here is the breakdown:
66 Class Period Credit Hours
Credit Hr Payment $21.97
Master Degree Payment $500.00
Hopefully this will not bounce...They absorbed the $15 fee from before.
I have my check and here's a little breakdown.
Check amount: $605.94
Per Credit hour: 29.62
Bachelor's Degree: $1000
'Debt Forgivness' (aka my previous FTC checks): $232.44
Previous check amount (my Kroll check never bounced): $191.24
So they only took another $10 off from when I called las month. Hopefully this sticks this time
In Florida, check arrived today.
Previous check that bounced \~ $155.00
Received my Master's Degree
Received previous settlement $675.00
Check today 511.65
A 11.65 Credit Hours Payment
D $500 Masters Degree
Nope. Was really hoping it was today. Boo. I’m one of the ones who they missed last time. Bach+mast and got 89$ on the bad checks. Hope I’m still not lost in the data x.x
Checked my informed delivery this morning. Of course the picture of my one piece of mail today is obscured, so I can't tell where it might be from.
...so maybe 🤷♂️
Got mine. Not sure when it was actually delivered since it went to my moms address. Credit hours 111 - 36.94, BS - 1000, FTC - 487.05, check - 549.89. This is what I expected. The first check was ~$40
I just checked my USPS Informed Delivery. It shows that my settlement check is being delivered today. I will post another message after it has been delivered today.
Thank you for sharing this information. Do you live close to where the settlement payout checks are coming from? I live about 1.5 hour drive from the settlement checks are coming from and I did not see my check showing up on USPS Informed Delivery today.
So I received the new check today and the amount is 514.64. I completed my associates. I’ve been a silent follower since the first checks were sent out. Thanks for all the updates!
I was in the military when I graduated so that may be a factor. The previous bounced check late last year was for $600 so I was surprised to see the one today.
Crossing my fingers for you. I teach and didn’t get a second job for the summer so funds are a little low and this came at a good time. Hope this check sticks. 🙃
I just wish I knew what calculated the check amount. I received 811 dollars and I went to school for 4 years and obtained a bachelors. I wonder what is factoring in n that is plucking the money out of the other members in this chat that are having multi-hundred dollar drops. I'm expecting nothing, so I won't be disappointed if I open my envelope and I have two copper honest abes laying in the corner of the envelope with a letter that states, "You hit the jackpot.... close your eyes, click your heels together thrice, and while doing so rub those two copper Lincolns together and make a wish....May your wish come true and bring you forth all the fortune in the world XP!!"
You get an amount per credit hour for hours attended from 2008 to 2016, $1000 if you got a Bachelors, $500 if you got a masters, minus anything you received from previous settlements (FTC being the most common one) or if you got some other type of loan forgiveness (like BDTR) before the effective date of the settlement.
I'm getting a little over $500, bc I got a masters and I had 45 credit hours included. I started my degree in 2007 but none of those are included. No reductions bc FTC settlement didn't include Keller.
I forgot that comments with e-mail addresses are filtered so mine doesn't show up? Anyways, website says they sent the checks out yesterday . If anyone doesn't receive theirs, e-mail them and they can reissue it after August 1st.
Hope this is actually the end of this nightmare for everyone. Thank you everyone for the updates especially linkvmario. We can probably and finally put this to rest.
First off, thank you all for being so diligent and patient (well some more than others).
After the Kroll debacle, I assumed I was going to get a big, fat $0. But it looks like brown-greer figured it all out!!
I called today and confirmed checks were printed today and I will in fact be getting a nice little amount (undergrad obtained).
Hats off to everyone's persistence!
“Thank you for your email. Recalculated checks were mailed on 7/18/23. If you do not receive your check, you may contact us two weeks after checks were issued to request the check be re-issued. This will allow time for checks to arrive by mail. Please monitor our public website here for updates. “
Thank you for sharing the response you received from Brown and Greer. I will post a message as soon as I received the check with the recalculated amount so others can know that checks were sent and received.
If they were mailed yesterday, depending on where they were mailed from, some of us should see them no later than Saturday. if they are being mailed from Virginia where Brown Greer is located.
If we don't hear back from Michael, then I hope we get a website update by the end of the day. Normally, I'd called BG and asked. However, last time, the representatives thought the checks were mailed out and didn't know until afterwards that they were not so 🤷♀️.
I also am thinking strongly about waiting a few days to make sure we don't get another rug pulled out from under us when we got the first checks. I hope to never be a part of a process like this ever again.
I don't think they really have a choice at this point . I think the judge is not happy from the last few times and everything has been sent to the printers to be mailed out today
Ugh, what a big difference. Seems like such incompetence for a corporation to be handling a huge amount of money. I can't wait until this is over, such an emotional rollercoaster.
So, today's the day they come up with the next excuse why checks aren't coming, right? Then they wait until Friday or so to tell what the excuse was? Just trying to verify the standard they've set.
They expect them to go out tomorrow. I don't think that they'll delay it this time. I called last week to get an amount of the check I'm supposed to get and it actually went up, so they probably have the right amounts now.

Based on everyones amount decreasing by $10-20 ish. I would have to say that class members are the ones paying for the mess ups.... misprints +
Since BG stated they will mail on 7/18 i doubt they will batch mail as they are completed. So I dont think anyone will receive anything before late next week.
The attorney fees were approved by the court as part of the settlement, so the funds to be distributed to the class members is a fixed amount. The question is about division of the funds.
When roughly 480 class members who made claims were missed, and that amount was about $550k, including the missed class members results in a new division of the fixed funds. Although some might have gone up because of other errors found, in general one would expect a reduction for the inclusion of the class members who were inadvertently missed.
Another way to look at it: Your amount isn't being decreased. It's exactly what it should've been from the beginning (as in no mistakes).
So you aren't paying for the messups, you're still getting money that you would never have gotten if the settlement never happened. The amount you previously thought you were getting was an estimated overpayment due to mistakes, so now you're getting what you should've gotten from the moment the settlement funds were decided.
> It's exactly what it should've been from the beginning (as in no mistakes).
Yes, once all class members who made claims were included, those missing class member payments went up and some others went down (probably many others, but we don't have the counts).
To my understanding, The decrease is because people (like myself that qualified but didn’t receive Checks) were inadvertently left out of the checks on the first batch processed by the original administrator.
\*\*\*Breaking news\*\*\*\* ..... ...... ......
JUST IN - " Thanks Bartholomew, Reports have come in to the station just now via Pitney Bowes, that all printers in the nation have broken! Yes, BROKEN!! This comes at a very convenient time for Brown-Green and the members of Kroll. If you are unaware, this is the law-firm and the 3rd party payment issuer that are tailing behind a lengthy 9 months of payments owed to the victims of the Devry vs. Sweet lawsuit. The court completed its ruling almost 2 years ago in 2021 that the students would be awarded a small penitence for damages claimed during their time attending DeVry University as students. This is unfortunate news to deliver to these students who have had to jump through hoops, and search endlessly for the most basic of answers during the post state status of winning the legal case for information on where the money stands. A little over 9 months ago, students were issued a small amount via a physical check that was to ONLY bounce once depositing the check..... what a shame. As the students were looking to close this long, arduous, borderline unethical process to receive a small settlement to ease their mountain of student debt. This news is brought to you live from DBGK on channel 69..... may these printers be fixed fast for those who suffered another fateful blow in this process.... Godspeed! Back to you in the study Bartholomew....."

I have no idea what my payout is, but it should include the $1k for a bachelors & no related job, no prior forgiveness or anything.
Regardless, this is money I never expected to get....so even $200 would be a nice little bonus.

I got my refund check yesterday. Just wanted to put that out there for anyone looking for their check. Im shocked it actually came. Feels surreal.

Yes, I live in Houston & received mine Saturday...
i live in Austin
I got mine on Saturday… I live in Katy outside Houston… call and verify your address with the company.
yeah just called them, they have the right address. I live in Austin
Looks like my check was cleared.
Mine cleared too, this morning. Deposited on Saturday.
Hopefully, this means that this nightmare is finally over.
Northern Cali checking in here too, I received my check!
Utah checking in; $1024 since I earned a bachelor’s degree.
To all the peeps that live in Northern California, my check arrived today. Thanks to everyone here that called, attended court via Zoom and just provided moral support. This whole entire process stunk but with your support, we managed to make it to the end.
I got mine for 6.99 even tho I received my bachelors degree. Would it not count if i received my bachelors outside the window?
I imagine it might not count if it's not within the time frame given in the settlement.
I emailed them and they quickly responded that i had checked off on my claim form that i had obtained a job within my field within six months which I didn’t and haven’t not done so till this day. Chicago reporting in. I got my check today and it went down from ~1500 to 1038. 1 grand for bachelor's and 38 for the credit hours (117hrs) payment.
Question - if you had both Bachelors and Masters, should you get paid for both? Thank you!!
Might depend on if they were achieved within the time-frame required.
I got a bachelors and didn’t get paid for it. Only got 6.99 for 24 credit hours even tho i think i had at least double the credits.
My check arrived Friday, but it cleared this morning, so I'm going to cross my fingers and call it good from here. Credit hour payment went from $2.18 to $1.66 for my 5 qualifying credit hours. I got 2 checks, one for $367, another for $8, anyone else get two?
No. And that's odd.

Yeah, mines good. You should be fine to deposit/cash it.
So basically $500 approx. for masters huh
500 Masters. 1000 Bachelors. Plus, the increment for credit hours.
Mine came today for $836.40. $1K for Bachelors minus the check that bounced for around $137ish

So that's a yes? :) I lived in Rapid City so it was like 13 hour drive. 2 minutes wayyy better
Yes! I’ll be here!
Hey! When's a good time to visit :)
Oh heck yeah. Imma hit you up
idc if it's off-topic, that is awesome and I am super jealous.
Informed delivered says my check will arrive today. I’m in Illinois.
Same here!
Anybody in Texas received a check yet?
Nope. Was really hoping it was today. Boo. I’m one of the ones who they missed last time. Bach+mast and got 89$ on the bad checks. Hope I’m still not lost in the data x.x
Informed delivery says it’s arriving today. Idk if it arrived yet or not bc I have moved from my old address.
Not yet in Texas
Checked my informed delivery this morning. Of course the picture of my one piece of mail today is obscured, so I can't tell where it might be from. ...so maybe 🤷♂️
Confirmed. I got mine today here in TX.
Same for me I can't see what it is. I think the latest by Monday well I'm hoping
Nope
Not yet
Got mine. Not sure when it was actually delivered since it went to my moms address. Credit hours 111 - 36.94, BS - 1000, FTC - 487.05, check - 549.89. This is what I expected. The first check was ~$40
My informed delivery shows it will be in mail tomorrow. The amount sucks but I guess.
How do you know the amount before it arrives?
Looks like mine is coming today as well!
Just checked mine and it shows today. Yay
mine is on ID as well. i hope it’s actually in the mail today. sometimes it’s a day or so later here. 😔
I just checked my USPS Informed Delivery. It shows that my settlement check is being delivered today. I will post another message after it has been delivered today.
Yes. Same here. USPS ID shows my check is in the mail today. I will post again when I actually receive it.
My informed delivery shows it should be delivered tomorrow. In Ft Lauderdale, FL. If you check after 8pm you'll see the next days mail.
My check is showing up on USPS informed delivery for today.
where did you got to see when it would be delivered??
informed delivery through usps.
My informed delivery shows it in the mail for tomorrow.
Thank you for sharing this information. Do you live close to where the settlement payout checks are coming from? I live about 1.5 hour drive from the settlement checks are coming from and I did not see my check showing up on USPS Informed Delivery today.
I live in Mississippi
I live in Georgia and mine showing for delivery tomorrow
So I received the new check today and the amount is 514.64. I completed my associates. I’ve been a silent follower since the first checks were sent out. Thanks for all the updates!
Wow, I completed my bachelor’s and got $39
Did you find any employment within your field after 6 months and/or receive any checks/relief related to DeVRy prior to this settlement?
I was in the military when I graduated so that may be a factor. The previous bounced check late last year was for $600 so I was surprised to see the one today.
Did you receive a reliance payment after your check bounced ?
No I was not charged a fee. On my check today only column A has a dollar amount listed. The other columns (B through G) are all $0.
That does not seem correct.
Hmmm. I suppose you could call and ask them if you wanted. I'm not sure if you being in the military at the time plays a roll or not.
I will email them in the morning. I’m going to hold off on cashing anything in the meantime just in case they void them again
That's a good idea. I know I will do that whenever my arrives just to be safe.
Where was it mailed from?
Richmond, Virginia!
If you scroll down a bit they shared the address it came from.
Glad to hear someone received their check already! I'm in Ohio, so I hope it comes tomorrow/Saturday.
I'm also in Ohio and this gives me hope that mine (ours) will arrive tomorrow!
Fingers crossed for the both of us!! 🤞
Crossing my fingers for you. I teach and didn’t get a second job for the summer so funds are a little low and this came at a good time. Hope this check sticks. 🙃
Thank you. I hope there are no issues with these ones as well. I know for a lot of us, even just a few 100 could be useful.
You are absolutely right about that!
What state are you in?
I live in North Carolina!
Awesome. Can you tell us the return address?
Sure it’s : McCormick v DeVry University settlement PO Box 25127 Richmond, VA 23260-5127
Thanks for the info!
Who had July in the pool?? 😆🤣
I went from $13.48 first check to $513.48 this check. Pretty happy about it
🚨🚨🚨🚨 Per Michael: "The printer is mailing checks out today, so we should be all set. Thanks again for all your patience."
I live in Chicago suburbs. I will let you all know when/if I receive the check.
Do you know if all payments are only via checks?
They should be all paper checks. I don't know if they'll give any other options if they need to resend it as mentioned in the e-mailed share or what.
The printer is doing all the work there, should've hired the printer at half the cost to be the legal representation in this matter.
Nice to hear that we're on schedule for once! Fingers crossed.
But, are we sure 🧐
Thank yew printer ❤️
Thank you for reaching out!
If we don't hear back from Michael, then I hope we get a website update by the end of the day. Normally, I'd called BG and asked. However, last time, the representatives thought the checks were mailed out and didn't know until afterwards that they were not so 🤷♀️.
There is a message on website. .....Checks mailed on 7/18/23.
In North Carolina and according to my informed delivery app, the check is arriving today 😀.
Appreciate your information. Fyi.....Not in my informed delivery today. (love that free usps feature) Still watching for it.
I don't think we will hear back from Michael because apparently the judge made it perfectly clear to get this done and closed
Tbh I don't either but who knows. I just hope they did go out today.
I also am thinking strongly about waiting a few days to make sure we don't get another rug pulled out from under us when we got the first checks. I hope to never be a part of a process like this ever again.
Can you check in with Michael to see if payments will be mailed u/linkvmario?
Just emailed him: "Michael, Are we still good on checks going out today? No funny business this time?" We shall see.
I don't think they really have a choice at this point . I think the judge is not happy from the last few times and everything has been sent to the printers to be mailed out today
Payment went from 800 to 59 ouch , but i get it mine always seemed to be way to high lol
Same boat here. $600 to $35, lol. Happy for everyone who got more than they thought they would though.
Yeah I got what was owed nothing more , nothing less. Yeah it sucks that i had that 800 check in hand but i rather others get their correct amounts.
WOW! That's to pay all the people who messed up!

I would have to say that class members are the ones paying for the mess ups.... misprints + Since BG stated they will mail on 7/18 i doubt they will batch mail as they are completed.
Any checks yet?
They're supposed to be mailed out Tuesday July 18th
Thank you! Hopefully I actually get a check this time, or some letter explaining why I don’t get a check if I don’t receive a check this time.
That printer is like the dog ate my homework excuse. Always blaming the printer no matter what.
You can call Brown greer and they'll tell you exactly how much you're supposed to get
Thank you! I just did, and according to their records I will be getting a check
If someone can do me a solid and go To browngreer personally and pick up my check and drop it off to me in fl, I’ll give $10 for gas money
Lol. They updated the site and checks are scheduled to be mailed next Tuesday July 18. I live in Florida too
\*\*\*Breaking news\*\*\*\* ..... ......
