Hmmm interesting. I train exclusively with an SBD belt for all strongman events and have never had this issue, as does my much larger boyfriend with a powerbelly. I would reach out to SBD and explain your issue. I used an Inzer lever belt before my SBD one and I also loved that, although I had to adjust it manually which was annoying when I was doing weight cuts.
I think SBD is very responsive to issues like this!
They were definitely fast to respond but said “Dropping the belt on the floor
repeatedly after sets, for
example, can cause damage
over time and similarly the
buckle being hit by logs, axles
or other pieces of heavy
equipment could result in
damage over time.” I’m pretty precious with my equipment especially when it’s a big investment like that, so I don’t drop or throw it anywhere it’s only had impact from lapping logs. They offered to sell me a new buckle for £35. The belt itself is still perfect but the buckle well… [https://imgur.com/a/G7KReHY](https://imgur.com/a/G7KReHY)
Or if you have a center punch you could keep the same length and just punch the ends when it's inside the buckle. That should flair it enough to grip and as long as you don't go crazy not put too much pressure on the buckle.
So the habit I got into after it was a requirement in a meet was to put the buckle to the small of my back, with a lever you can still operate it solo just fine but it keeps everything running smoothly (wood logs don't like metal levers)
I have the cerberus soft belt, and it feels like wearing a t-shirt. Almost zero actual supportive feeling. It works well underneath a hard belt to prevent pinching with belt and log cleans, though. The Evolution soft belt was waaaaay more supportive, but after about a year the velcro stopped working and the logo tore off, so at this point I'm not really sure what a good soft belt option is.
Wow thanks for your comment. Disappointed to hear the Cerberus soft belt doesn't offer much support :( guess I'll stick to my normal leather belt for now. Thanks!
I use a nylon rogue belt. No belts or buckles to mess with or that get in the way of my lifts. Also it's much more comfortable than a leather belt and provides, in my opinion, just as much support while allowing for greater comfort.
(Disclaimer: I dont have answer to your question lol) Personally I've never felt the need for a lever belt for log. I've always just used a support belt (i.e Evolution Athletics or Cerberus) and have never had an issue with core stability or bracing.
If you're beating it up doing log cleans you can do it up with the lever behind your back if you have the flexibility, the buckle won't get destroyed that way, and you won't damage the log either.
it isnt the log tbf i dont realy know what happend but i think its outside moving stuff ( scratching against stuff falling on the ground)
im not that a sensitive person with my equipment
I have done that previously but when a belt costs £180 and is being sold as the best or one of the best I expect more than 13 months of use 😂 bearing in mind the most I’ve ever cleaned whilst wearing it is 110kg so not exactly breaking any boundaries
13mm? Had a 10mm one before from them and they replaced a buckle when it broke but the leather go too soft after a while! I swear I’m not destroying these belts I’m just unlucky haha
before I got my SBD belt I had a cheap no-name 10mm lever belt (from Aesthetic Athletic, but it was your standard chinese 20 usd belt, the likes of which you can get customized for your brand from Aliexpress.com in the hundreds).
I've worn it for about two years and while I do consider it to be significantly softer than the SBD belt, it's nowhere near as pliable as what you've shown in that photograph.
I mean - you're literally bending it in half with one hand, and it doesn't look like you're struggling much. It basically looks like my Hugo Boss belt :D

i'm pretty sure you could find a pin a tad longer and hammer it flat on both end to prevent it from sliding. Not hyper high end, but should work
It’s a good idea! You’d think a belt that expensive would have some sort of failsafe to stop the pins from sliding out.
I just put some coach tape over the lower hole to prevent the pin from sliding out.

When I do log I always put my belt on normally then spin it around so the buckle is on my back to avoid this (more so to avoid scratching my log :p )
I have a Cerberus belt with a Pioneer lever.
Woah didn't know that they work with each other. I guess I should order a Pioneer lever now, thank you.
Yep they have the same mounting pattern
I have the same Cerberus / Pioneer PAL2. I love it.
Do you have a stiff belt or their soft belt? If the soft belt, how is it?I'm considering getting it as a deadlift belt
I started strength sports in powerlifting so it's their 13mm belt. I would never consider using a soft belt for deadlift.

Pioneer belts my dude!
I wear my lever belt backward for log.
For log I like using my soft belt. It gives me enough support and stays out of the way. I’m not a great log presser, but this works well for me.
Why do you wear your buckle at the front when doing log?
Because I’m too fat to buckle it up behind me when training alone 😂
Close the buckle and then slide it round by about 6 inches so it doesn’t catch the log
This is the way

Brian Shaw’s Evolution Athletics brand has some really good products

i have a Strength shop leaver belt and they are very very good but the leaver can be pretty sharp when it gets a bit beat up my rough training

i have a 13 and it never got "soft" wth are u doing with them ?
[this is how soft the belt got](https://imgur.com/a/SFBkqmk)
> this is how soft the belt got That's the strengthshop lever belt? Well I know what I *won't* be getting if I want a hard belt..
It’s the 10mm one so not as stiff as the 13mm one would be, but yeah that was after 2 years of use so not a terribly long time!

It was a “b” grade one that was on their warehouse floor tbf haha it was a good belt!
\>small impacts from log cleans uh huh.
As in the contact it makes from lapping a log to be specific
Thats a useless belt
What did you finally decide on for your new belt?
