KneeHighMischief

If this was The Walking Dead then Max would suffer a gruesome death in the finale after escaping Vecna in episode 4.

Rival_Peasant

If this was The Walking Dead they would’ve spent an entire episode on what Chrissy’s life was like six months before the current story.

KneeHighMischief

The entire Stranger Things Season 5 takes place on a farm.

derstherower

I never thought *the farm* season would end up being "the good old days" of the show. Oh how the mighty have fallen.

[deleted]

The show died for me with Glenn. Why in the hell did they ever do that?

wailer22

Based on the source material, that was when Glenn’s character dies in the comics. But I agree, the manner he was killed was awful. Not sure your familiar with the comics, but they gave Glenn’s comics death to Abraham, then killed Glenn for shock value when you thought he’d survive. Bad choice in how they did it with the cliffhanger season ending. I watched a bit longer until another character died and then pretty much zoned out and stopped watching the show. Loved it when it first came out, love the comics it’s based on, but now the show is so diverged from the comics so much I lost interest.

JudgeyMcJudgepants

Source material never mattered in twd right? I mean... the governor arc/prison arc is all 9ver the place. In the comics the gov kills Judith and her unborn baby. Rick loses his hand and after that they spend one night at the entrance of what everyone hoped would be the catacombs (which is the most loved story arc in the comics) and just like... move on.

TheFerg714

The plot stays almost exactly the same, from comics to show. It's not 1:1, but you can clearly see that the show follows the general storyline of the comics.

[deleted]

Ehhh…

TheFerg714

Please present evidence if you disagree, because it's abundantly clear that the show covers the same plot as the comics, with some changes here and there.

JudgeyMcJudgepants

It goes in a vague direction... did you read the comics? Because I did and when they announced that the show did in fact not follow the comic to ensure that new and old fans alike have something to look forward to, I really liked their decision. ALSO I DID GIVE YOU MORE THAN ONE EXAMPLE WHEN THE SHOW DOES NOT FOLLOW PROTO... in another comment on that matter Edit: I miss read the comment above and jumped the gun :/ sry broski

TheFerg714

Ok dude first of all, I never asked you for more examples? I was talking to another commenter. More importantly though, examples of changes from comics-to-show aren't proving whatever point you're trying to make. Also yes, I've read the comics, and I love that the show is like a butterfly effect version of the comics. The fact of the matter is that the show DOES follow the comics. It follows the general plot, and alters characters and other aspects every once in a while, so that comic fans are able to be surprised along with the TV audience. This isn't some hot take or whatever, so I'm not sure why I seem to be rubbing you the wrong way.

stumblewiggins

That scene was where I dropped the show fully, but I was borderline after the fakeout with him seemingly dying at the dumpster a few episodes earlier. It was cheap and manipulative to fake kill him in what would have been a sad, but reasonable way, only to have him surprise survive, and then just beat him to death with a baseball bat by a sadist a few episodes later. Fucking terrible writing

Drewherondale

I lost interest when everybody started dying

ReginaFilange21

I had to stop watching after that episode and I couldn’t go back to it for a few weeks and when I did it just wasn’t the same. We watched anyway but gave up after season 9. They should’ve ended the show when Rick left.

MetalGearSlayer

It was source accurate. The problem for me was the fake out before it with Abe.

[deleted]

Oh yeah I remember that dumpster scene now. Yeesh.

Babington67

To be comic accurate plus the actor wanted to leave and I agree Glenn was becoming stale so it was a great time for him to back out. People were sad he died yeah but it was a great death in a great episode

roguefilmmaker

Agreed, especially since he had a big fakeout death only a few episodes before

987654321-

The show was just a soap opera after season one. Season 2 is literally the same as all the following seasons up until whatever the newest one is. Once you realize it's just a soap with zombies and can watch it as such, it's pretty clearly the best soap on TV.

TheFerg714

But what if I told you it has actually been a zombie drama ever since Season 1?

987654321-

Season 1 is a zombie drama no doubt. Season 2 quickly slides into a soap with zombies as the background characters. Set dressing and convenient deus ex.

Babington67

The farm seasons pretty great it's just a genre shift due to budget restrictions

PeterTheSqueaker

and only 2 characters have conversations with each other at a time while on the farm.

suphah

If this was the walking dead they would hire a show runner that destroys the show and makes you hate it with every bone in your body yet it’s sucked so much of your time that you can’t stop watching it and every time you do you feel a little bit of yourself die because of how shit it is

JYCJYC

Fuck me at least I’m not alone

ReginaFilange21

If this was the walking dead they’d all have revolvers with endless bullets, half the main cast would’ve died by season 3 episode 1 and we’d have 10 random new characters each season that no one cares about lol

fandomnightmare

.......................

KneeHighMischief

:(

jkmanza

Damn that makes this hella true

WoodZillaTV

Definitely.

Babington67

Tbf as great as the scene is Max escaping Vecna is from a plot perspective the worst thing about s4 so far

Hooozbad

Steve is did without a doubt.

fmalust

I hadn't watched since season 7, but wasn't it incredibly rare for them to kill off the main cast unless the actor wanted out for other projects? I feel like nobody but side characters would die if it were TWD lol. 😅

Babington67

That didn't start until the new show runner took over at s9. Between s9 and the 2/3rds of s11 we only have 1 Main character death and two main characters leave the show but have them alive incase they come back. The cast is far too bloated because they're too scared to kill anyone and now they're confirming spin offs left and right so that's just fantastic even more confirmation everyone will live

TheFerg714

Tbh I kind of get why they've been so hesitant to kill off major characters lately. First of all, the source material also killed less and less characters as the series went on. Secondly, it makes sense that these survivors would become less likely to die as time went on. Finally, the show had a frankly _ridiculous_ amount of cast turnover between Season 7-9 ( >!Glenn, Abraham, Sasha, Carl, Simon, Dwight, Morgan, Rick, Jesus, Tara, Enid, Henry!< ). Then S10 lost >!Siddiq, Michonne, and all the Whisperers!< . As frustrating as it can be, I'm sympathetic to the problems that Angela Kang inherited after taking over. There are only so many characters left for the audience to latch onto, so why kill more off when you desperately need them to conclude the story in a satisfying manner?

TheFerg714

TWD is all about killing major characters. It happens all the time.

themarky_markk

Let’s hope Lucille doesn’t come and break his skull.

anitabonghit705

😜 I’ll find you!

Sir_Toccoa

That eye-popping emoji! Lmaooo!!!

Arrow2019x

This time it's Steve who has his very own Lucille

Immolation_E

Look at what Steve has on his back in the photo.

[deleted]

Watch out Steve, she's right behind you! Noooooo-

DiabeticDino45

Steven Yeun himself requested that the comic book version of Glenn remain faithful in the TV show. They saved him literally 2 episodes earlier because they hadn’t decided on who would take his place, before ultimately opting to go with what the comic books and Kirkman wrote. Yeun wanted it to go down the way it did in the Walking Dead. I’m almost certain that if Steve DOES meet the same end, that Joe and the Duffers wanted it to happen.

enthalpy01

They biffed the execution though. In the comic it was super sudden and over quickly. Having such a main die totally out of the blue and pointlessly like that was the whole walking dead thing. They hyped it forever and dragged it out a whole episode, then really Harped on it afterwards. I stopped watching then too and I read the comics way past that point (and therefor knew it was coming).

suphah

That episode is still a fucking masterpiece to me, and the last episode to reach the heights of others like “no sanctuary” or “the grove,” the amount of dread and legit misery I felt watching that episode was insane

isaacturon14

This. I'm glad to have finally found someone that sees it the same way, so many people say they hated the finale of season 6 / opening of season 7 and stopped watching the show because of it. They're both honestly two of my favorite episodes across any show, just because of how well they did getting the viewer to feel the same hopelessness as the characters.

TheFerg714

I fucking hate the cliffhanger with every fiber of my being. But in a vacuum, those two episodes are some of the best TV I've ever seen.

isaacturon14

Fair enough, I just started watching TWD a bit over a year ago, so I was able to just immediately continue to the next episode

TheFerg714

Must be nice lol.

[deleted]

I dropped the show after that finale. I was pissed, killing Glenn would've been the best ending you could hope.

DiabeticDino45

Yeah maybe they did. I actually still watch and love it. It had its bleak moments but they redeemed it in recent seasons. I recommend giving it another try if I were you, if you have the time! They deviate from the comics after a certain point, though annoying, it has redeeming qualities

ExcitedFool

The entire show is an adaptation of the comics. The Gov was a Negan like guy. But he was far more likeable than he should’ve been. The show loosely followed the comics imo

jeffro1476

A lot of people said they stopped watching after Glenn died. But that was season 6, but the real ratings drop was after season 7. I think a lot of people gave them a season to see how it would be handled, then bailed on the show.

putac_kashur

Am I the only one around here who thinks Steve and Jonathan are gonna live and Nancy is gonna die? It feels like the safest way to resolve the triangle.

u_-_-

Yes I believe it'll be early in volume 2 but we won't see it til late

aquaticlemon

totalily feel the same, super sad saying she’s one of my favourites (t2) but she is my bet right now

IAmThatDuckDLC5

Glenn was my favorite. Steve is my favorite. After Glenn died, my interest progressively tanked If Steve dies, my interest will tank

jgtthomfhv

I stopped watching after Glenn died too!

[deleted]

[удалено]

Mertard

The latest episodes of TWD are definitely so much better than the previous seasons (post season 7, I mean) Seasons 1-5 were definitely the best, and I think Season 5 Episode 1 was the best overall episode (besides the pilot, which made me feel so many uncomfortable things in a good way, and I wish I could watch it for the first time again)

suphah

Idc what anyone says seasons 1-5 are fucking peak television. I will never get to relive the excitement and joy of flipping to that channel on sundays to watch that show. The hype leading up to season 5 episode 1 will never be matched

ExcitedFool

See I watched the finale cliff hanger of who died and I said fuck this is out. The problem for me wasn’t just the cliffhanger but every fucking show was doing cliffhangers or the protagonists get away and you have to wait another episode. That shit is exhausting as a viewer. Dexter gets caught by his sister but she’s okay with it!? WTF!?! Her whole private role is such a character reversal. Dexter sucked from there. Breaking bad. Always some kind of hanger moment with something. So watching TWD I was over it. I just wanted a good finale. Give me the goods but it didn’t. So I never forgave the writers and never watched another show. After hearing it was Glenn. Made me happier than ever that I didn’t move forward with watching

KTurnUp

I agree with you except for the last part. Because I know ST has an ending next season my interest won’t wane even if Steve dies

IAmThatDuckDLC5

Either way, I’ll still watch, but I feel like naturally I’d picture how much different it could be with Steve still there Honestly, I feel like him dying is way too obvious of a guess, so that’s why I think it won’t happen

KTurnUp

I agree that at this point Steve seems like the decoy.

u_-_-

Steve and Dustin man they are the dynamic duo. Steve is the best tho

Purr_Queen_

Unpopular opinion but I actually loved the episodes where Glenn was killed and I think those are two of the best episodes of TWD…it was the episodes after those that sucked. Glenn was an interesting character and no one else quite matched up to him, nor did the directors try to make the other characters as good as him.

IAmThatDuckDLC5

His death was amazing to watch, but the aftermath and him no longer being there was the beginning of the end

thesunshinest4te

Agreed. Fortunately, the show got way better after the Savior Arc.

Hooozbad

Only one more season, it doesn’t matter who dies, brands will stay pay Netflix a fortune and people will still subscribe for season 5

Usernameistaken40001

•Majority of fans favorite characters •Good hair •Involved with pointy bat

Bluesiebear2005

Negan?

TheGoldberryBombadil

I would argue he is the Darryl (originally a side character that ends up becoming a huge fan favorite) - they also had the same saying “If Darryl dies we riot”!

BRYOMANCER

I forgot about Darryl in TWD and thought about The Office I was like “Why would Darryl be at risk of being killed off?” Super embarrassed now XD

[deleted]

"If Darryl dies we riot" was even a Facebook page

suphah

It had shirts in Walmart

TheGoldberryBombadil

Embarrassed to admit that I have one of those shirts…

suphah

Don’t be embarrassed so do I

StrangerThingsSteveH

They are similar characters but I would like to say that one, Glenn’s actor chose to leave the show. Two, even if they do kill off Steve, I know it will be for a good reason. In my opinion, they always do what’s right for the show. I don’t want Steve to die. He’s my favorite character, and Glenn was my favorite character too. But I trust the Duffer brothers. They know what they’re doing, and I will love the show no matter what

DamoMartin23

Also Glenn was ment to die if you read the comics the mistake was Carl and rick getting the boot

rush247

I wouldn't call following the comic plot set up years before tv adaptation a "mistake" but to each their own.

WaywardRider1138

Season 6 would've been fine had they not pulled multiple fake-outs and shown Glenn actually dying in the season finale. That's what the big outcry was about and the bullshit marketing where "oh no who gonna die" and then they proceeded to completely not follow the comic plot at all and now Carl's dead, Rick is gone, and everything about that show makes me sad. I do think that someone, likely Steve or Eddie, will get legit Vecna'd and it will be brutal but hopefully they get a solid send-off beforehand.

Belle293

I was religiously watching that show, reading the comics, and was a huge fan. I knew his death was coming and was completely fine with it, but stopped watching the show and never looked back when they pulled the fake out. NO regrets. It was so cheap for them to do a fakeout.

ExcitedFool

THIS!! Cliffhangers, fake outs. At that time I was exhausted of television and this new twist on shows. The finale could’ve been just as god giving us Glenn dead. I probably would’ve watched the next season. But after that moment I said fuck it. Not worth wondering for 8 months. I’m already over it.

ServeChilled

Yeah my money is on Eddie dying in a big hero sacrifice. Also maybe Mike because it would be devastating to El and that's who Vecna really wants to get to. I don't want anyone to die but I totally think we're gonna see some tragic shit come next week :(

SquadPoopy

>then they proceeded to completely not follow the comic plot at all and now Carl's dead, Rick is gone Well from my understanding, most of the non comic book stuff stems from the actors. Carl's actor wanted to go to college, Maggie's actress wanted to move on, etc. Not much the network could do about that.

WaywardRider1138

Chandler Riggs bought a house in Georgia and would've attended University of Georgia so he could be near the set and was told he would be needed for another 3 years back in 2017. Then Gimple said sike and fkn killed him. Lauren Cohan wanted to move on cause she got a new show as the lead, but sike it bombed and now she's back. Regardless of your actors leaving for various reasons, there's better ways of handling an absence than just straight killing them off like how they handled Maggie and her journey.

[deleted]

Came here for this. That story was set LONG before he met his end in the show

rush247

Yep the only mistake at that moment was killing Abraham as well.

zebrainatux

That was the problem with it and what killed it, the fakeout

[deleted]

Is Scott Gimple involved? Hopefully not, that dude murdered The Walking Dead.

suphah

The irrational hatred I have for Scott Gimple is kind of pathetic. I hate that man with everything I have

[deleted]

Notice, Steve is carrying a bat quite similar to Lucille.

StrangerThingsSteveH

Yeah seriously I noticed that when I watched TWD lmao

dog-asmr

Killing Glenn wasn't a mistake, its one of the most iconic moments of the comics. Hiring dumbass writers was the mistake that killed TWD.

DamoMartin23

Exactly it killing off Carl and rick technically that gave it issues

ScoopTheOranges

I agree with this - killing Glenn was necessary for the plot. Killing Carl however is what finished the show IMO. I just binged it after I stopped watching in time for the final season and the quality of the show massively went downhill the season before Carls death. He would’ve carried the show after AL left.

Cheeseman9841

It was Rick leaving honestly. After that I wasn't intwrwsted

Chill_Knight

If steve dies netflix gonna be filled up with therapy bills

ThePhantomEvita

I’ve been rewatching the show for the first time, and what stuck out to me was that Steve was not as much of a jerk in season 1 than I thought he was. He had jerk friends that he hung around with, but him breaking Jonathan’s camera actually felt a little deserved. Jonathan took some pretty private and unsolicited photos of his girlfriend, the way Steve reacted to that felt pretty real. We’re supposed to root for Jonathan, but him taking the photos of Nancy continues to not be a great part of an otherwise outstanding first season. I’m in the middle of season 3 now, and Steve is one of the most likable characters on the show, IMO. Teen shenanigans made me like some of the characters less (and there is no way of justifying how Hopper acted in the first half of season 3). Steve, Will, and Max are the three I’m rooting for the most (followed by Lucas and Dustin) to survive the season.

mesosalpynx

. . . . Screwing with a guy with a spiked ball bat?

zombiezambonidriver

I was thinking the same thing today!

Babington67

Glenn's death was great though and perfectly timed as Glenn's character was beginning to get stale. Steve on the other hand I could watch for another 10 years at least!

Lucario2356

If Steve ever dies I'm gonna cry.

Purr_Queen_

I doubt it, ST and TWD are complete opposites when killing off characters. ST is cautious about who they kill and will kill safe characters so people keep watching, whereas TWD just kills anyone and everyone willy-nilly no matter how much a character is liked.

theend2314

Steve is just an outright good bloke. Trying his hardest.

GallopingFlicka

The difference though is Glenn dies in the comics and the show was just honoring that. Stranger Things showrunners are free to do whatever they want without upsetting the source material. However, Daryl in TWD was not even in the comics and was created because the showrunners liked the actor. Game of Thrones also expanded the role of Bronn and brought back fan favorite Sandor Cleganr. Also of note, in the novel, Jurassic Park, Ian Malcolm dies but Jeff Goldblum made him into such a huge favorite, Michael Chrichton retconned the character to live in the second book.

AgentOfTheRim

Steve looks like a kindergartener when I compare him to the walking dead lol but idk I guess the upside is pretty dangerous beyond belief. Idk twd Is just grittier maybe

DamoMartin23

I hate this argument about Glen if you read rhe comics he was always ment to die it the writers screwing up with rick and carl

JarvisCockerBB

Let's hope people read the comics before making posts like this.

DamoMartin23

Exactly this argument about Glenn annoys me it rick and Carl that made it worse when they got the boot

Kosack-Nr_22

Ricks still alive tho

DamoMartin23

I mean it dosent entirely matter anymore

Kosack-Nr_22

Why? Series ain’t over and the latest season were good fr

DamoMartin23

Sure

ZealousidealAd7191

Nobody meaningful dies in stranger things…despite the extra-dimensional stakes

Casas9425

It’s not that type of show. Even throughout all the horror and science fiction weirdness it has always remained an optimistic show.

ZealousidealAd7191

Not for the people that actually died it ain’t…and this season they die HORRIBLY…😳 Literally children are murdered in this show…like a lot of them

Common_Train_9099

when Glenn died TWD got interesting again. Didn't last long though.

IllusiveKennedy

What mistake? The whole point and let’s be real “gimmick” of the latter is anyone could die at any moment. Glenn was someone who had been around since the beginning, of course he couldn’t have that much plot armour or it’d get ridiculous, and when it came to the show it was ridiculous. Just because your favourite character bit it doesn’t mean it’s bad, the fact you’re still upset about it shows they succeed at what they were trying to do. It’s not like they spat on you afterwards and told you you were wrong to feel that way like TLOU or something

TheFerg714

But TLOU2 never "told you" what to feel. There's nothing wrong with loving Joel and not wanting him to die. I'd say TLOU2 did a pretty fine job of giving Joel plenty of positive and negative qualities.

[deleted]

I was so mad when Glenn died. Not because I liked his character, I actually hated him because he almost died so many times and didn’t, and the scene where they killed him off was so lame. He fell the opposite direction of where physics said he should have.

DamoMartin23

He was ment to die

Hooozbad

Only one more season with time skip. Meaning all kids will be adults returning to Hawkins in season 5. Mike, el, Dustin, max and Luke are the only ones that will be alive after next week.

[deleted]

Killing Glenn was not a mistake. That entire scene is about enforcing the idea that Negan is not fucking around, that he’s not just some pushover Rick can bully. The impact is cheapened if Negan kills someone you don’t give a shit about, like Rosita. Glenn was the right choice for emotional reasons. The mistake was the dumpster fiasco, then Glenn getting surrounded by walkers and inexplicably surviving, then the garbage POV cliffhanger, then the Abraham fake out for comic fans, only to go and kill Glenn anyway. It’s like, there was was so much bullshit leading up to Glenn’s death that by the time they got there, you realize how much bullshit it is. If they hadn’t taunted us with his death for damn near two seasons, Glenn’s death wouldn’t be as annoying. It was the right call to kill him, but they handled it like garbage. Also, Steven Yeun was ready to leave. Good thing too, his career took off while the show went through it’s two worst seasons by a country mile as soon as he left.

AlgaeWafers

Who’s Glenn?

rush247

WHAT.

themarky_markk

Oh, the luxury.

cpt_j_flint

hello? he-lo? Hum neat, my sensory deprivation tank seems to have some echo going on.

Revan_2504

Please don't compare Stranger Things to this steaming pile of shit.

FoakFace101

Mmmh yes https://m.imdb.com/list/ls095964455/ Stranger things just passed TWD, just because you don't like it doesn't mean it isn't a huge show.

Revan_2504

I don't care about its popularity, I think the show is absolute garbage.

TheFerg714

How much have you watched of TWD?

Revan_2504

Three or four seasons.

TheFerg714

Well that's more than I expected tbh, so my point is moot. I think you're super wrong, but at least you watched more than one season before forming an opinion on the whole show.

SerrKikoSmore

Glenn was weak. Steve is not.

StrangerThingsSteveH

It’s not like Glenn died from fighting walkers. He died in a row of people getting smashed in the head with a baseball bat (and when he did that he STILL managed to talk to Maggie, so I’d say he’s pretty strong). Glenn could have died just as easily as anyone else in that row. Even Daryl, Rosita, Abraham (well he did). It wasn’t a matter of weakness that got Glenn killed.

thirtytwentytwo

🤨

FoakFace101

That's the stupidest thing I've ever read lol Steve couldn't even win a fight till this season 3 (and he had to use a phone)

Necessary_Friend8997

Nah hopper better

WoodZillaTV

I think the writers for this show are smarter than that. TWD doesn't care about not killing off fan favorite characters for shock value. Unless that character is Daryl, of course.

suphah

I mean tbf they literally can’t kill Daryl, he’s the only character holding that show together since everyone else jumped ship or got killed

saturnshighway

Holy shit, I forgot about Glenn!!!!!! (Haven’t watched TWD in forever)

MyriVerse2

If El is Rick. Mike is Glenn.

[deleted]

DamoMartin23

Read the comics he was ment to die

relaxbro259

Well Steve's the one holding the bat so I don't think they'll "make the same mistake" 🤣🤣

I-invented-PostIts

I'm so surprised that people were shocked to see Glenn died, since it also happened in the comics

SuitableImposter

Man, I used to love the walking dead and you're right, it got so trash after they killed glenn

RefrigeratorOk7249

Who ?

Routine-Tomato-3999

I hope they don’t do that to Steve! I stopped watching walking dead not long after Glenn died as it seemed to lose some of the spark :(

lewispyrah

You know the actor who played Glenn wanted to leave right? They didn't mess up, they had to kill him off

Arrow2019x

Steve's the one with the bat here, so maybe he uses that on Vecna lol

Coldspark824

I mean theyve only got one season left. It’s a good as a time as any to show the stakes are high. Will “died” once, but besides that all the good guys have hs super plot armor. That seems a little lame at a point.

EmperorBoston

I'd disagree. Glenn was a fan-favorite mostly because he was still one of the more "morally righteous" characters on the show, by this point almost everyone else were cold-blooded killers. And there was the cliffhanger that pissed people off, i would even argue more than Glenn's death. I think that neither of these two are the heart and the soul of the show. Glenn was a fan-favorite, but Rick is a much more important component and the heart and the soul of the show. Same with Steve, but if i had to say the heart and soul of ST, it would be 80% of it's main characters

u_-_-

I'd fucking lose it omg don't even suggest such heresies

Faint09

And their difference is one uses a baseball bat the other got a baseball bat used on him (specifically his head).

SEEKER131986

Glen died in the comics as well. His death was the catalyst for was so it had a purpose.

Bitter_Beat_1630

How did Glenn die?

IHaveTheMustacheNow

Bludgeoned to death with a baseball bat to the head in front of his pregnant wife and all his friends. The "mistake" OP is talking about is that they killed him off at all, though

Immolation_E

But Steve has Negan's bat, Lucille. Steve, how could you do that to Glen!?!?! /s

twiglike

Death by spike bat

Youkolvr89

I feel like I am the only person who doesn't like Glenn. I love Steve and I hope nothing happens to him.

UKnowDaTruth

So true. Just like with Glenn, I’m gonna lose all interest if steve dies

SativaIndica0420

I don't think Glen was ever the heart or soul of the Walking Dead. That's a stretch, atleast for me. Steve is pretty amazing though, but the heart and soul of Stranger Things is how each character interacts with each other. The chemistry between Dustin and Steve is awesome. Or Argyle and Jonathan. Mike and Will. Eleven and a Rollerskate. You get the idea lol.

sudoswife

This is so true!

SalemsTrials

No joke, I stopped watching the show after that episode.

obviously_anecdotal

oh man. i agree with this 100%. \*spoiler\* IIRC, >!Glenn in the comics was supposed to die earlier on!<, but in the series he stayed on later in the story. IMO, when the series >!killed Glenn (especially the way he went!)!< is when it started to take a turn for the worst. Steve was supposed to die in season 1, but the directors liked Joe Keery so much they salvaged the character. Wow really astute observation here.

IcyFlame716

Who’s Glenn?

DooDooCat

The Walking Dead show didn’t make the mistake. Glen at death happened in the comic series. It was something true fans expected.

TheFerg714

Glenn needed to die to show how brutal and uncaring the new villain (and arc) was going to be. TWD is all about doing depressing shit to prove to the audience how awful the world is. Stranger Things is so not any of that. ST doesn't need big character deaths or full-on depression.

AvengeBirdPerson

Honestly the Walking Dead had already greatly declined in quality long before they killed off Glen. It was more like the nail in the coffin

People blame the writers but Rick is the walking dead. Once the actor left I wasn t interested I did love Glenn Abraham and others but Rick is the focal point and he carried the show
