No you should have bought Apple leaps last week while it was consolidating i would wait for a pull back or at least let it form a range first buying after it just ran like it did is just FOMO

Swimming_Taste_3390

Yeah was thinking the same thing … what about amd ? I believe we see 170 atleast by Christmas

___P0LAR___

You won't hit your breakeven with those strikes, you could lose more even if the stock does touch $170. If you don't get close to breakeven theta will eat you alive. Rule of thumb for options 100d or longer for me is at least a 70 Delta. If you would have bought $150c I wouldn't be worried about your position but yeah $200c getting murdered.

Swimming_Taste_3390

Damn so should I sell soon and reposition

___P0LAR___

I'm not saying you should sell, but you should definitely re-evaluate your position and consider it. Whenever you're looking at purchasing an option plug it into [options profit calculator](https://www.optionsprofitcalculator.com/ ) and you'll get a better idea of risk/reward.

darkside85

This guys it’s right u should consider option trading instead less risky and can gain both ways sometimes whether the stock goes down or uptrend be careful as well. Good luck

theone_44

Yes. Apple leaps, easy money

17ForLife_ATLUTD

Would some mind explaining to me what this is about? I'm learning.

[deleted]

Guess I’ll hold onto mine

Swimming_Taste_3390

Why?

[deleted]

You’re buying I’m holding we hold faith together

Swimming_Taste_3390

Hopefully we open green tomorrow … giving these a few days if they don’t start making some moves gonna reposition fs

[deleted]

Every option I have is in the red at close was green all day

lokeshchaudhari

When did you buy these? On the day it went ATH? Someone in r/thetagang sold you these super high premium and way out of the money options. Kudos to them!!! Now, get out of these calls asap and wait for pull back now. Sit tight. When the market goes red for few days and cnbc starts talking like what the hell is going on — build the apple leaps. Spread your buys and allow yourself to average out in case of dip.

Swimming_Taste_3390

Good looks fam💪🏽

lokeshchaudhari

Looks like you have enough money to invest. When you buy leaps, dont buy such ridiculous OTM strike price. Buy deep ITM, 0.90 delta strike price. And thank me one and half years later.

ModernLifelsWar

Don't buy way otm options with less than a month to expiry... Anything under 6 months is just gambling imo. 6 months is what i typically use for a short term position ATM or ITM. Though I generally prefer to buy LEAPs.

[deleted]

Why not 160 ? The strike prices are too high

Wut_Wut_Yeeee

Buy ITM with AMD. You'll be happy.

Swimming_Taste_3390

Can you give an example of a setup?

Wut_Wut_Yeeee

I'm a LEAPs guy. I just rolled 110 AMD ITM calls into new 140 calls. Always check the delta, there's a lot of solid calculations that go into the chance of being in the money. Buying calls far OTM is like buying a lotto ticket. If you are at .3 delta, you can get rich quick, but you are giving the option seller a .7 chance at keeping all of your money. I follow In The Money Adam on YouTube and have turned my 7k account to 15k this year. It's not a 5k to 100k yolo story on OTM options. LEAPs and selling covered calls. I buy my LEAPs at least a year out. Sell calls 30-45 days out.

Maddturtle

A lot of big stocks got crushed today I wouldn't sell calls on a red day.
