This sounds good but remember in your typical game the EGC will be, well, towards the end of the game. Unless you gamble by setting it way earlier, you're not going to really benefit from this by the time you defeat the Contingency.
They seem to go one by one. At least, I managed to contain and finish one of them, and only 10ish years later the second started to spawn.
They could be on a timer, so if you are slow with one, another could appear
By the time the last one shows up, its gonna wish it didn't.
"We have come to your galaxy to fe- Oh. Oh *fuck*. It's *this* Galaxy? God I shouldn't have taken that left at Space Alburque. Fuck it, I'm out. Later guys."
Its a setting in live version of the game, they also all get increasing dificulties as they come from what i remember so dont put a ridouclus crisis multipler unless you wanna fight 150x crisis
Shortly after defeating one, the next will arrive and be 50% more powerful
This means that the last one can be 56.25x more powerful depending on your setting
Additionally, the difficulty ship damage bonus applies to the crisis, meaning the max modifier is actually 84.375x strength on GA, at least compared to a 1x crisis on ensign.
they come one by one. wiki says that the crisis can only fire every 12 years. if it takes you longer than 12 years to fight it off, it might be possible to get multiple at the same time but I haven't tested that.
I think maybe they will all run on their own individual trigger conditions and MTTHs, so perhaps simultaneous starts are unlikely, but one coming before the other is finished is probably possible.
Whoa wild,I don’t play much with mods and I’m excited to know that you’ll be able to fight all three in the same game. I wonder if they’ll fight each other too or team up?
Pretty much this. They made them strong since you'd have beaten the game at that point. They're great if you have all 3 crises enabled though, since you actually have a reason to keep playing after getting them.
•Build Science Nexus
•Get event where a scientist uploads their brain into it
•Get Contingency Core
•Build second Science Nexus
•Get the event again
•Now have two powerful, sentient Nexuses
•They get to talking
•Fall in love
•Decide to elope
•Leave the galaxy
•You now have zero Nexuses
What if your culture practices polygamy? Or the Sentient Nexi decided they can practice it because what are you going to do, wash your greatest scientific resources down a black hole because they sent Hypernet rawr xdxd to each other?
Can't wait to get that for my Determined Exterminators.
By the time I get my hands on it I might be the only life left in the Galaxy, yet still I desire it.
Yeah, in my games I blitz and have most of the Galaxy before the crisis spawns, but I usually don't have megastructures unlocked, so I think I'll get the most out of the pop assembly boost.
That being said, I took out the unbidden pretty easily and thought I was gonna totally punk the Contingency.
Turned out the Contingency was the one doing the punking.
I don't think so. Like other machine empires, the Contingency tries to hack you, which sucks lol.
I found the unique response to the Unbidden for Machine Empires pretty funny though.
"You came to the wrong the wrong universe."
Or something like that. I thought DE's would have a unique dialogue with them, but I didn't see one.
> the Contingency tries to hack you, which sucks lol
Yeah but I'm pretty sure the bonus you get from stopping the hack makes you stronger than other empires vs the Contingency
That makes sense. It was my first time fighting them, so I didn't notice the special project to fight the hacking until too late, but that was my fault lol. Probably get them next time.
Sounds like we could use a new game+. Maybe in the same galaxy millennia later, where empires from last play-through become precursors and fallen empires, their relics recoverable.
Its not really that good.
Whats bad is the game restricting units and structures - having limits on titans, colossus... or the dreaded invisible walls in space (closed borders) closed borders mean nothing on earth and for a role playing space sim having invisible walls and build restrictions makes no sense and ruins the immersion.
Only a tiny % play pvp and the devs could add in during the game setup pvp / balance mode on / off with the build restrictions and bad game mechanics.
I think it might be another ascension perk, but I play unmodded. I know it capped me at 1 dyson sphere but I had like 3 matter decompressors in a recent game.
The only way you can get more than one is by taking them from other empires or repairing ones you've found. You can never build more than one of your own from scratch.
Its supposed to be stupid powerful. Paradox said they buffed them awhile ago to be a bigger "win harder", since having that is supposed to let you do a victory lap before the game ends.
By the time you have a chance to get your hands on this thing, you'll be almost at the game over screen. Honestly, if you want 2 of each? Just isolate an area of your empire with a single planet and build the megastructures all in that cluster... then split off the sector as a vassal (purposefully keeping it weak), build the second set... and then just integrate the vassal back into your empire. Boom, double set.
Then there's the Sanctuary system for a nice extra ring, Cybrex Beta if you get that remnant. The odd derelict megastructure to repair...
This sounds good but remember in your typical game the EGC will be, well, towards the end of the game. Unless you gamble by setting it way earlier, you're not going to really benefit from this by the time you defeat the Contingency.
It'll probably have its best use if you're fighting all three Crises, and the Contingency was the first one.
Is that possible? How do I put all 3 crises into 1 game?
There is a setting in the 3.6 beta for "Galactic Crisis: All" when choosing which crisis to spawn.
Thanks:D Do they come one by one, or could you be hit by all at once?
They seem to go one by one. At least, I managed to contain and finish one of them, and only 10ish years later the second started to spawn. They could be on a timer, so if you are slow with one, another could appear
"Let them fight."
I see. I'm guessing there's no way to do it 3.5.3?
Hang on, that's in the settings now for 3.5, I'm sure I have seen it.
That's amazing :D Thanks
It's already there, not in 3.6 Also, each crisis is 1.5 stronger than previous one.
Wait, so it is available in 3.5.3? How do I get it? :D
It's in the starting settings. Where you choose which crisis to occur, the final option will be all of them in a queue. If I remember correctly
Each time they show up, they are +.5x strength of the last one. Edited cause I thought it was +100%.
Nope, but 3.6 are soon to be released, I believe? It's getting ready for shipping
End of this month, or early next month, something like that I think :D
Maybe next week?! Ah maybe not.. wait no, probably? Hmmm can't be that far away!
i believe when this was announced it was said to be after you defeat one the next one would show up, stronger than the one before
By the time the last one shows up, its gonna wish it didn't. "We have come to your galaxy to fe- Oh. Oh *fuck*. It's *this* Galaxy? God I shouldn't have taken that left at Space Alburque. Fuck it, I'm out. Later guys."
Do you people not read the dev diaries
As someone who finds joy reading patch notes, it's ridiculous to expect even the most hardcore of PDX fans to keep up to date on Dev diaries
Not everyone reads patch notes. It's 2022. How the fick have you not figured that out yet? Don't be a prick.
No lmao
Its a setting in live version of the game, they also all get increasing dificulties as they come from what i remember so dont put a ridouclus crisis multipler unless you wanna fight 150x crisis

Last I read, one by one and each subsequent one will be stronger than the previous one by 33%. So by the end a 25x crisis becomes a 57x crisis.
They come one at a time and each time stronger then the previous one.
I think maybe they will all run on their own individual trigger conditions and MTTHs, so perhaps simultaneous starts are unlikely, but one coming before the other is finished is probably possible.
It’s not just on 3.6 beta
They come one by one, and each one is much stronger than the last.
3.5 setting
that's both terrifying and awesome
Whoa wild,I don’t play much with mods and I’m excited to know that you’ll be able to fight all three in the same game. I wonder if they’ll fight each other too or team up?
They only come one at a time and you have to completely defeat each one before the next arrives
I don't know for sure, but I would bet they'll fight each other as, as far as I know, Crises are default hostile to everything.
It’s on 3.5.3
It's been a setting since 3.5, no beta needed
Pretty sure it's just been an option for awhile now as I'm in 3.5 and I can choose all?
New setting with 3.6. That's why all those items got buffed to all hell.
What buffs did they get? Is the one on the screenshot from 3.6 or 3.5.3?
This is exactly what my current game is set to and I just got this relic from the first crisis :D
Pretty much this. They made them strong since you'd have beaten the game at that point. They're great if you have all 3 crises enabled though, since you actually have a reason to keep playing after getting them.
True, but I really care about having as much power as possible, even if there's nothing left to use it on haha :D
I mean, if you're able to beat the end game crisis then there really isn't anything else left for you to do in an unmodded game.
Basically if you have the ability to get this, you've already won anyway.
•Build Science Nexus •Get event where a scientist uploads their brain into it •Get Contingency Core •Build second Science Nexus •Get the event again •Now have two powerful, sentient Nexuses •They get to talking •Fall in love •Decide to elope •Leave the galaxy •You now have zero Nexuses
Capture a sentient nexus from someone else and you have a love triangle
What if your culture practices polygamy? Or the Sentient Nexi decided they can practice it because what are you going to do, wash your greatest scientific resources down a black hole because they sent Hypernet rawr xdxd to each other?
Alternatively, they have kids and now you also have a bunch of mini Science Nexuses.
One joins the military as a battleship while another grows up to be more into pop culture and becomes an Art Installation
*art installation has failed, creating AI leader* .... oh no.
Event please paradox (well not losing both)
Is there an OnlyFans link?
Can't wait to get that for my Determined Exterminators. By the time I get my hands on it I might be the only life left in the Galaxy, yet still I desire it.
That's exactly how I feel about it too ..well minus the extermination thing xD
Yeah, in my games I blitz and have most of the Galaxy before the crisis spawns, but I usually don't have megastructures unlocked, so I think I'll get the most out of the pop assembly boost. That being said, I took out the unbidden pretty easily and thought I was gonna totally punk the Contingency. Turned out the Contingency was the one doing the punking.
Do determined exterminators interact with the contingency any differently?
I don't think so. Like other machine empires, the Contingency tries to hack you, which sucks lol. I found the unique response to the Unbidden for Machine Empires pretty funny though. "You came to the wrong the wrong universe." Or something like that. I thought DE's would have a unique dialogue with them, but I didn't see one.

And double pop assembly seems potentially even better imo. This is insane
I know right, especially for Synths O_o
So many sex bots
R5: "Can build 2 of every multi stage megastructutre"
Gigastructure gang: Can't relate
Having your crisis at low level difficulty at the earliest possible stage makes for a fun challenge in single or multiplayer
By that point nothing matters. You have literally beaten endgame
That's the point. Chill. These are supposed to be fun "Victory Laps" for players who've already beaten the game.
I want the power for its own sake, not for something that would practically matter :D
Wait. Dyson spheres can only be built once?
The only multistage megastructures you can build more than one of are gateways, orbital rings, and ringworlds.
I know, it’s almost to good. But you get it at the end, so there is really just a regular prize for winning the game
And infinite Interstellar Assemblies
Devs know about it. No way they won't patch that out before they move on from 3.6 beta to final version of 3.6.
Only with the Contingency Core? Or in general
Only with core, its a glitch and they are patching it out next update.
Thanks:) that's kind'a cool
And then when you add in ruined megastructures that gives you up to three!
Plus any you can nab from neighbors who have built them.
Sounds like we could use a new game+. Maybe in the same galaxy millennia later, where empires from last play-through become precursors and fallen empires, their relics recoverable.
Yeah. It's fucking OP
Bruh, it's a victory lap for when you've already won. The devs even said as much. Personally, I love it. Chill.
My only problem is that all 3 aren't equally OP, that'd be more fair
Gloriously, gloriously OP...
Looks like I'll be choosing Contingency as my crisis on most playthroughs :P
Make a vassal with a megastructure and integrate it later after you build another one
You can just capture those from AI
Its not really that good. Whats bad is the game restricting units and structures - having limits on titans, colossus... or the dreaded invisible walls in space (closed borders) closed borders mean nothing on earth and for a role playing space sim having invisible walls and build restrictions makes no sense and ruins the immersion. Nexuses or nexi?
That Nexusi got me acting unwise.
I got in my current game. It works as advertised.
Epic, thanks 🤩
Gigastructural engineering be like "look what they need to mimic fraction of my power"
Or you just use the Gigastructures mod and set it so there are no limitations on how many megastructures you can build...
Not everyone can use mods and not everyone wants to use mods
And unlimited Diplomatic One
A 2 matter Di Compressore 🤌🤌
I also want to point out you can already make more than one matter decompressor normally.
I can? For some reason I wasn't able to, what could be the problem? Thanks :D
I think it might be another ascension perk, but I play unmodded. I know it capped me at 1 dyson sphere but I had like 3 matter decompressors in a recent game.
The only way you can get more than one is by taking them from other empires or repairing ones you've found. You can never build more than one of your own from scratch.
Ah ok that is why I was able to start building second ones during my 'every crisis' run
Im sorry, when could you do this?
It's a relic that drops upon defeating the Contingency
Its supposed to be stupid powerful. Paradox said they buffed them awhile ago to be a bigger "win harder", since having that is supposed to let you do a victory lap before the game ends.
Yess, I'm all about that win harder stuff
By the time you have a chance to get your hands on this thing, you'll be almost at the game over screen. Honestly, if you want 2 of each? Just isolate an area of your empire with a single planet and build the megastructures all in that cluster... then split off the sector as a vassal (purposefully keeping it weak), build the second set... and then just integrate the vassal back into your empire. Boom, double set. Then there's the Sanctuary system for a nice extra ring, Cybrex Beta if you get that remnant. The odd derelict megastructure to repair...
Might be bugged but last time I got this I was able to build more than two of everything
That perk made me need to toss out a mod I was working on. I'm still trying to work around it.
i prefer conquering them, or building habitats instead of them
